    I bought a pair of Q Acoustics 3050i and I'm blown away by them, can't believe the sound quality for £475, way under priced and a real steal, so I can't imagine how good these Concept 50s must sound like, but I'm so happy with my 3050i.

    Thanks for the review. I have the QC50 and the more I listen to them the more I like them. I can listen to a huge variety of music and it all sounds good and is easy to listen to and understand the music. The don't have as much sparkle or slam as I would like sometimes, so I may add another set of speakers to fill that kind of listen.

    How sharp are the highs? All cool technical stuff aside, for a dedicated room, how would you compare the sound of these to the Kef Q950? Not that I'm in love with them, it's just the best that I can afford and that my Denon x3800h would drive and that I could actually listen to them before I buying because it was on display in the showroom. How would you compare this to the Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series (the best sound in that showroom)? It's taking a big leap of faith to buy speakers that I haven't listened to first, so i'm really trusting you. Thanks. Great channel.

    Excellent review Paul, I love your comments about about the emotion coming through when referring to the Portishead track.
    So often certain speakers and systems get the technical aspects of the music right but come across as emotionally sterile.

    Too rich for my blood but I have given them a listen and Paul describes them perfectly. I opted for their older yet slightly smaller brother the Concept 40 which you can pick up for £500 and they are less assured - particularly at lower frequencies - than the Concept 50 but were perfect for my budget and work well with my Cyrus ONE Cast.

      @@johnadam5702 Depends what you're used to. Vocals are strong and bold but the tweeter is the weak link. They sound good if they're your first speaker or you're coming from other sub £500 floorstanders, but lack clarity if you're coming from more expensive speakers

    Hi Paul, good insight, but what amps did you test with and would recommend? If these need something similar in price, which you hinted at in reply to my recent question in one of your other videos, how about the Concept 30’s. What amp would work well with those? Thanks.

    • @TheAudiophileMan
      @TheAudiophileMan  2 года назад +3

      The 6000A from Audiolab, Icon Audio valve monoblocks, Leema Quasar and Omnia but it depends on your budget and your own sonic bias. I recommend a demo but again, prioritise your source first before you spend out.

    These grabbed my interest, however I checked them out on our Canadian website and they're selling for $4500.00 dollars. When you convert 2000lbs to CAD that's $3400.00. A $1000.00 dollar markup. I'm sure the speakers are exceptional, but there's some shadiness going on here in Canada.🤔

      You're probably paying for shipping costs. It's not unusual. US customers have had similar problems with Rega, for example. We in the UK have the same issues with US products.

    You mentioned the Soundeck mini feet again in this review. I already have four of them under my CD player, and boy, do they make a difference. I just have a question about placing these discs under floorstander Loud speakers, which is, "Can you literally place these under speaker spikes?

      Not on this channel. I take my role very seriously and I refuse to deceive my viewers. Any sound coming from this video would have run through 30-40 different processing gates before it ever reached you so, while you will hear a noise and you may even hear tonal differences, it will not actually be representative of the product in question. Remember that when you 'hear' other video reviews posted elsewhere. What you will be hearing is the *device you're using to view the video* - nothing more. The only way you'd be able to judge the sound of the speakers would be to sit in my listening room with me. And then only after getting used to the reference system it was connected to.
      I hope the above bla bla bla...whoops! I mean I hope the above helps.
