If you guys watched his latest cast, this is why jag is giving him some loaner cars, because he's waiting to get a p8

@@fredericoespinoza I am aware of this - I am an avid listener to the podcast!😅 But in this video he stated Alfa Giulia QV, M3 Touring or GTC4 Lusso as well as the P8, as potential options! But I think he should go for the jag!

@meowzer60 Why would anyone need to wait for a P8? All available models were all made, maybe by 2019.
I was close to buying a P8. Still think of that car nearly a year later. Quite special.

  • @stevee8920
    @stevee8920 Год назад +18

Let’s be honest Sam the car you really want is the project 8. I think as much as the challenge stradale is your unicorn the memories with the 360 and the hours you’ve put into it mean letting it go will be too hard. So I think you should keep the 360, GT3 get a project 8 and then potentially do a deal on the F Pace with Jaguar to keep Viki happy. You obviously have an amazing relationship with Jaguar, so maybe the project 8 along with the F Pace isn’t an impossibility. I love your honesty (a lot of RUclipsrs may have suggested they had bought the F Pace SVR) you have always been very upfront about whether a car has been loaned to you or bought, it’s why yours is the channel to go to for good honest content. On a side note nice to meet you at the Podium for the Behind the Glass Podcast yesterday👍🇬🇧

Hi Sam. In my opinion, I think it would be really cool to buy a 360CS (which is also kinda a classic), but then buy an actual classic (which is in good reliable order and has 4 seats), which would also tick that box too. I think your current 360 is awesome ( I would love to own it), but with most things in life, we sometimes need a change...

      And oldest gt3
Honestly I would not want p400. It is great car but SVR feels special and on 21” is very capable as family car for my wife and kid. Honestly it handle it well a bit more than 2 years already.
      Wife just hate 22” so
W drive only 3 months on summer tires.
Kid love this car and acceleration already so without plan I rise petrolhead sadly.

I think we can all relate to the compromises of what to put in the garage!
For me, the GT3 content is the least unique, but I get that you have done so much with the 360 already.
It would be great to run the Guilia & the Project 8 at the same time as you would quickly know how they compare.

Get a Panamera Sport Turismo PHEV as a daily. The benefits of the massive backseat, massive boot and electric range for daily use, combined with the sportiness of a V6 or V8 in the front, make it the ultimate dad wagon. You’ll have no regrets. I have one & can’t think of anything else that practical, sporty and yet very efficient on the fuel for daily use.

Have a thing or two exotic, but that vintage Alfa would be hard to beat. You could upgrade with Alfaholics bits as time goes on. Having a small, relatively quick, car that looks really good and doesn't cost an arm and a leg to run would be a good thing. I currently run a '16 Mazda MX-5 and a new to me '16 F-Type 3.0S manual transmission coupe, but I've owned many Alfas starting in 1967, a 105 series GTV still tugs at the heartstrings.

I have driven one for a few days and the range is absolutely terrible. The driving experience is great but 150/160 km is barely enough if you're driving carefully around town. He does a lot of trips outside London for work meetings so it could get annoying as a daily. Other than that it's a lovely car

Lastly, have another test drive of the mini electric, it’s a seriously good car, probably the best thing we’ve every bought, amazing to drive, cheap to run, ideal for a second car, 120-140 miles in summer, 110 in winter so for knocking around its ideal.

The suggestions of Italian classics are my two dream cars! I believe you can create a similar performance Alfa Romeo 105 series coupe by buying one and getting your mechanic to install choice Alfaholics onto it. For a small runabout you can go for a Peugeot 208 (or for more space) a 2008, this can be either electric or petrol, that's what one of your friends have done.

The key with classics Sam, is to buy them from the owner/restorer, who has spent huge amounts of cash restoring to a mint condition, only to lose his shirt when selling on.
Doing it yourself, (unless you are supremely capable), is a non starter....look at the money TGE has had to spend on his 912 and Sport Targa. It can be a harsh lesson.
I could see both the Capri's from the Professional's in the showroom (Silverstone Auctions sold them as a pair - Bodie and Doyles cars)
I think this TV show was a good bit before your time Sam so we can forgive you your lack of knowledge!
To my mind you already have a classic in the 360.....you seem to be duplicating....again.

A daily can be anything, including your GT3 & 360. The 360 'IS' your classic as also would be a Stradale so follow your heart. You don't need a daily you need a utility / family / back up car, skoda yeti or similar would do the job for £10k. Then buy an interesting 4th car every 3-4 months for fun, modern classic, e46M3, 987 boxster, golf GTi, whatever takes your fancy just spend up to £20k and keep till you fancy a change. These high value new SUV's are of little interest to your target audience but usable £20k sports cars are. And they don't have the same capitol outlay and depreciation.

I have a basic F Pace for similar reasons and it fits my requirements, perfectly. Not sure why it wouldn't work as a daily user. Why not spend less money and buy a MG BGT? As for the 3.0S, part of my fantasy garage, back in the day (although in black). Alongside it, would have been a Yamaha RD350LC. As for the Professionals, I thought it was a 2.0S in silver.

Your Modena is going to feel like 95% of a CS.. I think it would be silly to sell your current 360 and add a sizable amount of cash to that for a CS. No doubt it would be amazing for a short time, but I believe the honeymoon phase would be shorter than you think. You’ve also completely gone through your current car from a maintenance standpoint-you know all of its dirty secrets. I would keep the 360 and dive into a project car for a while. People LOVE “project car” content (not to mention with your cinematography). You’ll probably grow the channel enough during that period to keep your 360 and also buy something else (430 Scud with a 6-speed..?, 458…?). We love you regardless mate, Cheers!

I have got a 992 GT3 I can’t imagine myself letting that one go. I would with my other cars including a 296 GTB on a waiting list. I would say keep the GT3 it really is a remarkable machine unless you upgrade to the new RS if Porsche is willing to offer you an allocation! Good luck mate.

Love that the pros and cons list started with Aldous, then Vicki.... ;) Do it Sam; Project 8, CS, and a 308 GT4 :D

Hope you finally get a classic.
Ever thought about a Fiat Dino?
Beautiful Bertone design and same V6 Ferrari engine as the 206/246 Ferrari.
But I would love to see you in a Alfa GT as well.
    I love those cars.
    Nice video.

I can't help but picture Tony laughing when you talk about getting a classic. I think it would be a good idea though

Are the seats comfortable for everyday use and for distances of 100 to 150 km or ( sit for 2 hours ) per day?

Try the ghibli trofeo in place of the giulia qaudrifoglio. You’ll be getting a Ferrari v8, old school chassis and steering set up and a wonderful ride.

The Ford Capri you saw was one of the cars driven by Body and Doyle on the Professionals. Wow that is a cool car.

Very much appreciate this more 'chill' atmosphere and the on-point cinematographics as always, thank you. May I suggest, asking Tony and possibly with JLR in conjunction, to get your wife and the baby a car they can absolutely depend on, no matter what kind of shuffle you have going on in your 'STG RUclips Garage'. So a Jaguar E-PACE for instance.
As Tony frequently has said on the podcast, lady drivers often enjoy, sitting up high in the driving position. So the objective being, your three family members, including Twiggy of course, have a reliable car they can drive in and at a moments notice, the car sits in your drive so to speak, regardless of you travelling to Down Under or on another road tripping adventure with the Porsche. Or any other RUclips related duties you might have, your wife's car is always there and ready to go.
Before anything gets all a bit too confusing and perhaps, not as interesting for a longer video series (at least for me as a viewer). Here some ideas aimed to help you out Sam✌
