- Driving from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon South Rim Scenic Drive by car
The drive from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon South Rim by car is approximately 4.5 hours long. You pass through the barren desert landscapes of Nevada into much greener pine forests in the mid northern region of Arizona. It’s actually quite an easy drive on the highway, and it is possible to drive there and back to Las Vegas in a day.
From Las Vegas, NV - 278 miles / 447 kilometers
Take Highway 93 south to Kingman, AZ.
From Kingman, take I-40 east to Williams, AZ.
From Williams, take Highway 64 north to the South Rim.

Planning to make this drive in late March. I always love to get some idea of what to expect and your video did exactly that. Thanks!!
If you ok with driving - it is very nice drive. You'll see how nature change as you approach the canyon. We tried to capture most interesting sections
Thanks for this I'm in Vegas in September and going to the South rim
Enjoy, Canyon is an awesome place to experience!
When I tried to drive there in 2008 that beautiful highway you're driving on near Hoover Dam wasn't finished... man nice highway
It is awesome drive!
Muy bueno, yo lo hice en diciembre pasado, ya había nieve, fue grandioso. La autopista muy buena

I’m going in a month and we plan on making this drive, are there plenty of gas stations? That’s the only thing that freaks us out!
Yes, no issues with gas stations. Enjoy your trip.
We will be visiting our son at Nellis Air Force base in April. We want to drive to the Grand Canyon . Where is an inexpensive hotel that is also safe from janky part of town , but not to far from the South rim part of the canyon? Thank you and great footage
Are you looking to stay in Las Vegas area or Grand Canyon?
@@lvfreeAdventures the Grand Canyon. We will stay with our son in abase housing then drive to the grand canyon
@@dailyoccasions9539 The closer you want to stay - the more expensive it's gonna be. There are few in Grand Village itself - but usually you have to book well ahead and they are expensive. Other option is in Tusayan village , about 15-20 minutes from canyon. They less expensive - but close to canyon and very good area. The further you go - the less expensive you find. Lots of inexpensive options in Williams - but you will need to drive for an hour to canyon.
@@lvfreeAdventures Thank you!!!!!
Leaving when she wakes me up....
What camera did you film this with? thanks

Are there many gas stations along the way?
Yes, you will go through few towns

It took us about 5 hours with couple stops
