@slaphead90 i guarantee if modding stages was possible in this game, it would take over the scene quickly. Just for the simple fact, it's starting out on a more graphically pleasing foot. People have squeezed a ton out of the rbr engine, but think what those same modders could do with a modern game engine. And since it's already a structured rally game it wouldn't need any major work on that front. WRC Generations is pretty niche; it gets by-passed by the “sim” community because it’s not a sim, but the stages can be unforgiving, so it’s difficult for a real casual player to pick-up straight away… but what I can say is that this is the only game/sim which genuinely gives me the same level of enjoyment as driving a real rally car on a real stage, and honestly that’s the reason why I do motorsport IRL and play motorsport games/sims; the thrill and enjoyment. When Codemasters got the WRC licence I was so hyped; Dirt Rally 2.0 levels of fun, but with WRC cars… or that’s what I hoped… what we got was nothing like that; toned down “inert” handling and boring stages… and now we don’t even have new rally games from KT racing either… 😢
@richmachin6741 yes...i gave KT so much shit over the years (rightfully so in some cases) but they did some great work in retrospect. After wrc 9 it seemed like they were starting to figure some things out, wrc 10 was going in a decent direction feeling-wise and then generations even closer. This game with mods is getting better than the original. I'm so happy Averymods opened this game up to mod the game engine and physics etc.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing Well I have 140 hours in WRC G let me tell you something: The last patch to WRC G was Dec. 2022 Game Version: 1.4.25.1. No Idea why you think this game is better then at any point of the last 2 years, WRC G was dropped by its developer KT shortly after release.. All the Bugs from release are still there I wonder how you did not encounter any of them? Stuff thats bugged: Hybrid (sometimes looses load, sometimes goes endlessly), Grip (Termac Wet/Snow mostly), Impact Damage, Collisions (Haybells, Fences just endlessly stick to your car when you break them, every surface is sticky, snow = concrete, no bouncing), Windscreen Reflections, A.I. has random Pace, Weight (everythings too top heavy you can do easy frontflips if you break before jumps!, car just rolls if you push it); aaaaaaaaaaaaand THROTTLE BUG (autoclutch doesnt engage when under 50% Throttle Input) So, yeah. All of this information is publicy available and well known by the playerbase, that plays RBR and WRCG now ;)
Luv to see you do a "how to setup your sim rig controls" with this one, Tried to configure my wheel, pedals, and HB but could not get them setup. Worst console UI ever in a PC game. lol
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing SC2P base, VRS pedals, Oktane seq, Moza HB, and fanatec bmw gt2 V1 rim. I just do not get their button pushing to map these properly.
Problem is the game does not recognize my wheel rim buttons. As soon as I map a key to it, the game freaks out and acts like something is controlling the mouse and I have to reboot the game. I tried mapping within the wheel base selection area. I think it did the same if I selected Controller and tried to map there as well.
Lol...well I do think ea has some great qualities about it. I'd definitely play it more if there were some tweaks to the physics and if it had a more serious damage model. Who knows maybe in the future someone will figure out how to accomplish those things without making it to where you can't play online.
Can someone let me know how to run this game smoothly, (Specs i913900k cpu, Rtx 4090) using resolution 4k so much game lag and input lag it’s just so unplayable would love to give it another go.
best thing about naon wrcs was the surface changes that actually affected the game. unlike in wrc24, theres also like cobblestone in poland and it just isnt any different than the rest of the stage. very disappointing.
I have both from day one , actually pretty much all the racing games of the past 20 years plus So only good thing about the wrc generations is the graphics (way more sharper than ea wrc) and the physics on the tarmac , much better than ea wrc On gravel /snow the cars are sliding drifting too much , is like driving on wet ice all the time , very unrealistic , the wrc cars are pretty much like f1 cars , they actualy have more grip on snow than a normal car on tarmac , insane , so ea wrc is much more close to reality in grip and tire model on gravel /snow On tarmac the generations is a superior game Sound no competition , generations is a joke So short story long , generation way better textures /graphics /track detail /inside cars details Way better feels on tarmac
@bratosin1 on snow, they are much of the time using studded tires, which would make it around the same grip as dirt from my understanding. I agree with how the game feels on the paved surfaces it feels very close to how my cars feel with decent tires in real life. The graphics definitely are also mostly better, I think the cars look a lot worse graphically in generations, though. Environments are better in generations by far imo!
Ok, because RBR stans are absolutely brick brained... wanna know something that exists in RBR and are absolutely unrealistic and ridiculous... The damage... yes, at high speeds it's realistic but when you go 20kph and towards a rock and the game tells you that your engine is damaged all I can do is laugh cause my real life Opel Corsa can take a harder hit than that and it's a freakin ROAD CAR!!! Not a rally car... in RBR rocks are somehow landmines or nuclear warheads cause you can't have your car touch them even at super low speeds... sorry but compared to that the horrible damage model of EA WRC which is enforced by manufacturers is more enjoyable... cause being overly punishing is way worse than being overly forgiving... why do you punish me for touching a rock at a very very low speed (literally 20kph)? If you make your damage model more punishing and really WAAAAY more punishing than real life then you're a sadist who just wants me to put down the game cause I've had enough of your bullshit... Also, the menus are impossible to navigate... my wheel doesn't work in the menus and my mouse can't click on them so I have to use my keyboard but can't even access some of the things I wanna change like the break bias cause the arrow keys won't let me get to them so I end up needing to find setups online cause of how clunky it is... I also suffered like a moron with the steering not working and being ridiculously understeery only to find out that I need to fix that from the settings as well... RBR is such a pain in the ass that it's not worth it... plus the force feedback is super basic... I cannot feel the tyres at all... the only thing you can feel is the weight of the car shifting, which sure is great but you can't feel the edge of grip of your tyres... it's a floaty mess... I don't know if my direct drive wheel just doesn't mesh up with the game or if it's the game's super old engine that can't give me more but even if it's my wheel's problem, I have a life and a job... I don't need to have a full time job trying to fix this game just to maaaaybe someday actually enjoy it... I worked on it for hours until I said "fuck it... I'm done" cause it was almost midnight by that point and I had to work the next day.... And the most annoying part is that you can't tell which things are issues of the game and which can be fixed... it's absolutely ridiculous... So yeah, it's very legal to compare all rally games to RBR cause they actually don't waste half your lifetime and after that ridiculous amount of time you're not even sure if it's now working properly...
@sportschool3537 i feel your frustration, i have experienced a lot of the same, although I think it's best to be more unforgiving damage-wise. Imo it makes more sense to be strict with damage to encourage better driving. I do agree with rbr being a giant mess mostly, keyboard (almost dos) menu navigation is pretty brutal in 2024, although you can map the keyboard directional keys to be buttons on your wheel using a key remapping tool. There have been LOOOONG sections in my life where rbr will seem to stop working out of nowhere. Most recently I couldn't shift out of first gear. That was weird...and then one time the physics completely shut off for months and I couldn't figure out what happened, every course felt like glass and the tires would just spin freely...lol I don't blame anyone for not wanting to put up with headaches like that. I do still feel like rbr has the best, most realistic handling for mixed surface racing but sometimes (a lot of times) i wish serious development would start on more modern games. That's why I have been shifting my focus toward BeamNG and WRC Generations. EA WRC is still too new to begin trying to pick it apart, who knows, if someone does figure out how to mod stuff significant stuff into the game EA might force updates to block it... That wouldn't happen with WRC Generations or BeamNG. Btw beamng and Generations has proved to be a mess in a lot of ways, too but because they are more modern, I am willing to be a bit more optimistic about them. I played rbr for years, and have supported that specific community for years so I hope the people that truly know me and my goals will understand why I want something newer.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing no, but there is no stage degradation, car sounds awful, no championship mode, I can't start a championship in the WRC. Tarmac is cool but gravel is also bad. WRC 9 and 10 were alright but that's it.
And since it's already a structured rally game it wouldn't need any major work on that front. Games like assetto and beam ng still don't have that rally theme to them so they never really feel like a rally title even if there is enough content there to outshine any true rally game.
Hey!
I watched this like i Told you, the first time i saw you upload this video.
More details would be good, and a bit longer video, But i understand your frustration with the uploading of the video.
Still fun to watch though, and your way of ending the video is still the best way of ending videos "Ever".
@Spartancat02 That one you originally commented on i had to redo, I was definitely tired of making the same video 4 times lol. Not to mention I had to edit this video 4 separate times. I was definitely less detailed but I think it's important to at least get the info out there into the wild. I'm planning on doing some more wrc generations videos in the near future. Maybe a little series.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing A little series would be great.
And from now on your PC will Work perfectly.
@Spartancat02 lol thank you for the blessings!
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing Btw, should i buy the game for 12usd on G2A?
@Spartancat02 oh, definitely worth it for that price. There is a lot of enjoyment to be had.
Kt said that in the future they will develop more rally games ❤ Hopefully
@Alexneroverona maybe they could fix generations as a little gift to the community! But really happy to hear that!
Wish someone could mod it to work in VR. Cant go back to flat screen.
@simonoregan4744 i mean you can kinda get it to work but it's janky.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing Really. How can I go about doing that ?
@simonoregan4744 I think its a paid app but I know it's possible. Check this website out and see if it's what you're looking for. www.vorpx.com/
"You can hold a drift better than..." Fails to hold drift xD
@@wendelinspegel2842 lol I just meant it felt more possible.
Stuff thats bugged:
Hybrid (sometimes looses load, sometimes goes endlessly), Grip (Termac Wet/Snow mostly), Impact Damage, Collisions (Haybells, Fences just endlessly stick to your car when you break them, every surface is sticky, snow = concrete, no bouncing), Windscreen Reflections, A.I. has random Pace, Weight (everythings too top heavy you can do easy frontflips if you break before jumps!, car just rolls if you push it); aaaaaaaaaaaaand THROTTLE BUG (autoclutch doesnt engage when under 50% Throttle Input)
So, yeah. All of this information is publicy available and well known by the playerbase, that plays RBR and WRCG now ;)
hahahaha
This is about the physics tweaks by @RikySim lol it's not about the base game.
Luv to see you do a "how to setup your sim rig controls" with this one, Tried to configure my wheel, pedals, and HB but could not get them setup. Worst console UI ever in a PC game. lol
@labpong7562 100 percent! What gear for you run?
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing SC2P base, VRS pedals, Oktane seq, Moza HB, and fanatec bmw gt2 V1 rim. I just do not get their button pushing to map these properly.
@labpong7562 i remember I had to delete everything except for the "keyboard" and then only map everything for that including your sim gear.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing I will try that and see if I can get through it with no issues. Thanks for the tip.
Problem is the game does not recognize my wheel rim buttons. As soon as I map a key to it, the game freaks out and acts like something is controlling the mouse and I have to reboot the game. I tried mapping within the wheel base selection area. I think it did the same if I selected Controller and tried to map there as well.
"It feels better than EA WRC" what rally game doesn't feel better than that game? 😂. Thanks for the updates btw, they are appreciated.
@@chrisbaggieboy5656 it's impossible lol
Nah m8, nothing beats RBR, it's like the BeamNG of rally sims
@@Sithhy I think beamng is becoming the beamng of rally sims! Lol
best thing about naon wrcs was the surface changes that actually affected the game. unlike in wrc24, theres also like cobblestone in poland and it just isnt any different than the rest of the stage. very disappointing.
@@alles_Freaks you mean in the ffb? I recall feeling a difference in traction on the cobbles.
The graphics are best than any other game, gotta fix the sounds and it would be fine.
Yes some of the sounds are fine but there has got to be a way to rebuild the sound system in this game.
I don't see any graphics in this game as I don't even have a monitor on my rig... So 0/10 for graphics without VR. 🤗
Not even close! EA WRC allows to many error!🤷♂️
@Pepepepino8989 yes, very forgiving!
I have both from day one , actually pretty much all the racing games of the past 20 years plus
So only good thing about the wrc generations is the graphics (way more sharper than ea wrc) and the physics on the tarmac , much better than ea wrc
On gravel /snow the cars are sliding drifting too much , is like driving on wet ice all the time , very unrealistic , the wrc cars are pretty much like f1 cars , they actualy have more grip on snow than a normal car on tarmac , insane , so ea wrc is much more close to reality in grip and tire model on gravel /snow
On tarmac the generations is a superior game
Sound no competition , generations is a joke
So short story long , generation way better textures /graphics /track detail /inside cars details
Way better feels on tarmac
@bratosin1 on snow, they are much of the time using studded tires, which would make it around the same grip as dirt from my understanding.
I agree with how the game feels on the paved surfaces it feels very close to how my cars feel with decent tires in real life.
The graphics definitely are also mostly better, I think the cars look a lot worse graphically in generations, though. Environments are better in generations by far imo!
I think it should be illegal to compare any rally game to rbr.
@@cognitonito2695 lol straight to the slammer I go...
Cause youve never tried WrcGenerations obviously...
@@Alexneroveronahave you tried rbr ngp 7.x ?
@sportschool3537 i feel your frustration, i have experienced a lot of the same, although I think it's best to be more unforgiving damage-wise. Imo it makes more sense to be strict with damage to encourage better driving. I do agree with rbr being a giant mess mostly, keyboard (almost dos) menu navigation is pretty brutal in 2024, although you can map the keyboard directional keys to be buttons on your wheel using a key remapping tool. There have been LOOOONG sections in my life where rbr will seem to stop working out of nowhere. Most recently I couldn't shift out of first gear. That was weird...and then one time the physics completely shut off for months and I couldn't figure out what happened, every course felt like glass and the tires would just spin freely...lol
I don't blame anyone for not wanting to put up with headaches like that.
Good joke
@@стриж51 would you like to hear another?

I can't play this game anymore, the handling is horrible.
@Werferharfer i think it has gotten better but it definitely can still use improvements.
Did you try the physics mods by riky?
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing no, but there is no stage degradation, car sounds awful, no championship mode, I can't start a championship in the WRC. Tarmac is cool but gravel is also bad. WRC 9 and 10 were alright but that's it.
@Werferharfer what do you mean? You mean like for clubs?
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing no, like, offline championship mode, there is none. Only career and you have to start in the lower categories .
I don't agree, you can throw the cars around in generations, especially in the rally 1 cars. I think you are referring to when you are braking and digging the nose in to gain more traction on the turning wheels. You can do that in this game.
