    Ul Rajdowa is a track in Poland, the name can sound strange on the first look, but it's shorter form of full name. Full name is "Ulica Rajdowa" (in english "Rally Street). Ul = Ulica -> Street.

      @@SleepyPantsSimRacing Polish language is very hard and tweaky so no one is mad when someone who don't speak polish try to spell this crazy ah words. Rościszów-Walim is the best example, even me and my friends sometimes have little problems when try to spell this name fast, but i have to say that Polish stages are very climatic, and specially the tarmac ones gives very good vibes of Poland's Silesia region. Kormoran stage is near my home so it was my point of honor to end this stage at least once (it was freaking hard but done it some way) and now im researching whole internet and asking my family where exactly this rally was, so wish me good luck and be quick on stage. @@SleepyPantsSimRacing could be hard to find exactly this stage from RBR (Kormoran I and II), but some places from Rally Poland 2023 (ERC) and RP 2005 (WRC) were driven by me on bike, and i have to admit that there are many places nearby that are worthy to consider as Round of Polish Rally Championship or even Polish ERC Round (unless they move to Silesia). Poland with this narrow tarmac, and fast gravel stages are really good place to go rallying, but because of bad organization in Polish Motor Association we have what we have. Really unused potential.

    I found that you lack the correct posture and rally racing skills. When entering a turn, you should turn first and then brake with your left foot, so that you can enter an oversteer state and smoothly pass the turn. Either use a pendulum or a handbrake. Otherwise, braking before entering the bend will significantly reduce the friction of the front wheels and even cause them to lose their steering ability.

    The lights are actually one of the main and special features for this rally wheel and you want to turn them off? I guess you found them too distracting when racing. You should be able to “turn off” the lights in simHUB? I just have a few questions that came to my mind: Do you find it’s difficult to reach the red encoders at the bottom during a race and what do you usually use them for? What are the rotary and 7 way buttons made of? Any noticeable differences when playing Dirt Rally vs WRC? How did you install the QR? Is it directly mounted and screwed to the backside of the housing or can you use a spacer? Did you have to buy the QR separately? Is it console compatible? Have you tried any third party adapters to make this work? Any noticeable stitching (if any) or quality control issues? How heavy is the wheel btw compared to similar size diameter wheels? What do you think is the preferred weight for a rally wheel of this caliber? Being the primary connection between the PC and the wheel, how long and how thick is the coiled cable and just curious about the quality and durability of that connection? Sorry, how much did the wheel cost you again?

    • @SleepyPantsSimRacing
      @SleepyPantsSimRacing 10 дней назад

      @wangoh-uo1gn the wheel was sent for review purposes, I think it retails for 300ish from simdids website and 200ish from aliexpress if I recall. You can definitely add spacers. There are 4 screws out of the 6 that engage with the qr. The other two hold the wheel to the button box. I'm not super familiar with simhub. I only used it for the simdid Gauges and an onscreen dash at one point. Using this wheel with different games feels identical as you are able to map the buttons to whatever you'd like. The stitching on my unit seemed well done, I did notice the stitching was in a different location than what I am used to, but I think it's strategic to add durability. I have busted threads near the thumbs on many wheel rims. This one that is used on the simdid is stitched in a way that puts less stress on the threads. I don't foresee this one busting at the thumb location or any other location. Console compatibility is a tough question, I believe there are third-party hubs that allow you to use aftermarket gear on consoles, but I can't speak on it as I have no experience with it. I would say no just to be safe, but I'm sure it's possible since it's a simple usb connection. The wheel rim by itself, I didn't feel the weight of, but the whole setup is a roughly similar weight to all the other wheel/button box combos I've held in my hands. Keep in mind the button box is mostly carbon fiber on the front and light aluminum for the shell, and plastic buttons etc. The encoder knobs are aluminum. I wouldn't call it light per se but it's not like mounting a barbell to your wheelbase or anything. As for the bottom encoders, I can't see myself adjusting those mid-rally reliably unless I'm on a straight or something. The easiest buttons to manipulate while driving in order are. 1. Paddle shifters (of course lol) 2. The 4 closest buttons to your thumbs 3. The two gold encoder/7 way hat switches by the thumbs. The other buttons are definitely possible but I wouldn't want to have to use those mid-race. The buttons I mentioned are the only ones I would recommend for driving use. As for what I have the bottom red encoder set to, they are for seat adjustment, enter, escape and scrolling up,down,left, and right in menus.

    • @SleepyPantsSimRacing
      @SleepyPantsSimRacing 10 дней назад

      @wangoh-uo1gn and the connection is super robust. It seems like it might even be waterproof or resistant from the look of it. The cable is super high-quality feeling, and I'd say it's maybe 3-4mm thick if memory serves correctly. The cable is probably around 5 or 6 feet stretched out if I had to guess.

    I remembered one more "con". Not a huge deal, but the center logo was peeling off when I first opened my wheel up. This was mainly due to the delivery service not following my instructions to leave packages at my back porch. It was a skin blistering hot day, and the package was sitting in direct sunlight for hours. For anyone wondering, underneath the little logo is a flat, white plastic similar to the plastic used on the surrounding buttons. I considered leaving it off when i first opened it but figured it looked better with it on.

    It's crazy how many people think Alcantara wears quicker when you don't use gloves - it's not wear, it's the sweat and natural oils in your skin matting the fibres. I've had several second-hand Alcantara wheels which were advertised as having "worn" grips, yet a microfiber cloth and some washing-up liquid restored them to like-new. Grippy gloves with tacky rubber bits will attack and wear Alcantara fibres more than your soft, supple, oily hands ever could. This isn't a dig at you in any way, by the way, only the general myth/misconception.

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson 11 дней назад

      The Alcantara actually does wear even with gloves. A new wheel will often leave little black chunks in your lap if you notice. It goes away once the oils kind of soak in. I have worn away quite a few wheel rims. :)

    • @EthanDean57
      @EthanDean57 11 дней назад

      @@DouglasThompson For sure, it's not indestructible - badly worded on my part. But people are quick to jump to the conclusion that it's worn super quickly when really it's just gunked up

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson 11 дней назад

      I do also want to add, "wear" doesn't always mean the material leaves just that it gets damaged. For instance a pair of jeans could be considered "worn" if you were to spill oil or mustard on them. Well...also you are literally wearing them lol. Anyway, Alcantara is more susceptible to wear because of the material, a smooth leather/pleather wheel is a bit easier to maintain and more resilient to damage.

    V3 vs Mini ?!?!?!?

      @BamaMike7187 is that what you want to see? The mini feels great but it doesn't feel as good as the V3.

    I was hoping that Cammus was releasing a wheel update for the C5, but alas no, I have to go back to thinking about modifying mine.

      Check out the 3drap wheel rim and shifter paddles for the C5... the wheel seems to much of a hassle, but the paddles seem interesting...

      Same. I'm dreading pulling mine apart to see what I can do. I kind of have a plan, but don't know if it'll work until I pull the thing apart.

      @SleepyPantsSimRacing 16 дней назад

      @pogoprofilms I still haven't successfully got a c5 apart, let me know how it goes. I was planning on making a tutorial to switch out the wheel but after trying for a good while to get it apart, I decided it would be best to not make a tutorial so as not to risk people's money if they damage something while disassembling it. I let cammus know this would be a big deal for some users but thier priority was to make it small and light for shipping and travel reasons.

    That GTR wheel looks more like something you'd find on some old go-kart or the like

    • @SleepyPantsSimRacing
      @SleepyPantsSimRacing 23 дня назад

      Ya, it speaks go-kart to me as well but keep in mind Cammus has a bit of bias towards go-karts since they make them! ;) lol

    I purchased both the SimDid and SimLab and ended up returning the Simlab shifter. I liked the how the paddle for SimDid was curved so it made it much more comfortable to use over an extended period of time vs the Simlab which I would get the occasional finger cramps. I do wish the SimDid paddle was thicker though

    • @SleepyPantsSimRacing
      @SleepyPantsSimRacing 24 дня назад

      Yes, the simdid feels beefy but the ergonomics are inferior to the simdid. Thank you for sharing your experiences with both!

    Would you prefer to use these type or an actual seq shifter for rally driving

    • @SleepyPantsSimRacing
      @SleepyPantsSimRacing 24 дня назад

      I'm a stick sequential guy personally, I would use these for windshield wipers and headlights personally. Same with any paddle shifters though. Even wheel mounted shifters I use for headlights and windshield wipers.
