I can make all those guitars sound like 8 dollars.
8 you say....i can better that....say 2 dollars!🙄
LOLOLOL
A talent is a talent... Don't let others says the otherwise. 👍
@@outtayardstudio I would take the 8 dollars out of their hats and recommend some beginner guitar teachers.
Psssh, I can make 'em sound like two bits...
I've really never understood all the hate for Sambora. He's a very good guitarist that made a cheesy band listenable and who has shared the stage with Clapton, BB King, Les Paul, Buddy Guy, you name it and he seems like a nice dude to boot. In a world with arrogant pricks who think they are Gods gift to the the guitar he's one of the few good guys. Why hate him?
Just jealousy.
I love sambora's technique
***** Exactly my friend. I would love all these haters to post videos of themselves playing. We all have issues of some sort. Why throw stones at someone when we all have issues.......... I appreciate your comment.
***** Ritchie Sambora is a hell of a better guitar player than Slash for example, that's for sure!Hello from France :)
T Bone Not Haters just jealous they are lol But the fact is that she's nothing new,Jennifer Batten can play as well and a few more! She's not the next Edward Van Halen but she's doing great, good for her!Hello from France :)
I have no idea why I love watching Norms rare guitars videos I don't play but love the music played and just the beauty of the instruments in the shop. Seems like a special place to hang out or visit.
I was trying to put into words why I enjoyed this video, you described it exactly what I was thinking. I can't play but I love watching people master sounds from wood, plastic and metal.
So great to see them, not gonna judge them how they sound or look, or comment about knowing what they bought. I know Norm also wants his friends respected, as we are all essentially in the shop now too with this video. So great to see all the different guitars. Thanks for sharing, Norm.
When you play a guitar in a guitar shop, you play the blues. And nobody knows why.
Cause "that's something everyone can enjoy" not everyone likes rock I guess
R.O. Lewis I agree it is certainly a nice gesture. Personally, I do like to try to play the stuff that I will be playing with it. Not saying she isn't;)
I think it's because the blues brings out the best in a guitar like a strat and a tele, especially for the clean sound which is what matters. It's a musical style that relies heavily on technique, like vibrato, bends, chords. It's very complete, and hence you can get a really good feel of how the guitar resonates and see if the fretboard is for you or not. Other genres are mostly power chords, or lots of rapid notes and chords like jazz.
Also blues requires the thumb over neck technique, and you'll see if the fretboard is too big or small for you.
Just my opinion. If I try out an acoustic guitar I mostly play fingerstyle, and open chords. More or less the same with jazz guitars.
Robert Fennis Because you can rip off a few licks to get a feel for the guitar. Lets see some shredder plug straight in to a mass produced amp no warm up and start wanking his bullshit. Nobody wants to hear that. Personally id be plugged inot anything but that hot rod deluxe. Pentatonic licks are just standard. Are you somebody that think s theres no skill in playing the blues?
Robert Fennis Blues is sooooo boring, don't know why thoug. I preffer listening to Kirk Hammet's riffs.
Richie is one of my favourite guitarists. You have to consider the riffs/solos he has created in his time
no doubt. he was the true sound of bon jovi. im glad he left. i can't imagine dealing with jon. richie said "too old for this sh*t, im out!"
So beautiful!!! Much more better than many full concerts!.. Thank you very much!!!
Thank you all for this production ... fabulous to see the talent shown here in a natural state
Such beautiful instruments, and so cool to hear with so much talent. I am now an Orianthi fan, so amazing
I enjoy reading the comments and opinions of the professional living room player, they must be so good we have never heard of them.
best comment!
Even a mediocre player gets a lucky break. AND just because someone isn't "cool enough" to be famous doesn't mean they aren't phenomenal. Some people don't want to be a rock star or had the courage on stage but these players don't impress me. Under your stupid logic that means Britney Spears is an incredible artist.
Are you "The Mark Patrick"?!? from the lose weight seminars?!?!? Because otherwise ur a couch performer bud.... not going to stand up for stupid comments, youtube it full of em..... but i had to reply because ur perpetuating the idiocy with a comment like that.... Your Troll Badge is waiting at the front desk.
I could play along with both of them, I choose to play for myself and not make a living in an industry that does not make the money it used to! I give these 2 credit it was there dream, just not mine
PIlotrcm If you haven't heard yet, recent videos have been uploaded showing that Brittney Spears is a great singer. According to research, she was told by the industry to tone down her vocals to fit pop music. So, that analogy wasn't good. I think the point the OP is making is that a lot of the people criticising these pro musicians playing are people who don't have much to show their own playing. They can say what they want about the pro players but for all we know the critics aren't as good as they expect the pro players to be. And I'm sure a number of them either don't play guitar or aren't as good themselves. It wouldn't be right to generalise this, so the OP was wrong in that aspect, but the OP has a good point. Nothing wrong with having an opinion and sometimes the public is right in its criticisms, but when you take it as far as to belittle the skills of a pro player, this is where people will ask to see your superior playing skills. This does not mean it's right for anyone to belittle others, because it doesn't regardless of skill level. It just means, that people need to do more putting up, or just shut up.
I for one am a living room guitarist, and I think that fellow living room guitarists need to tone down their judgements of professional musicians. Even if the living room musician is phenomenal, pro players deserve their credit for what they do great, and for the fact that they are out there sharing their work. If you want to stay home, that's your choice, but it takes guts to share your work with a public who has more criticisms than skills. I think it's time we start challenging people to step out there and face the public with their own work. This way they can experience other people telling them they suck or how bad they are, when that public also doesn't have much to show for it. I think if people experienced their own belittling logic, they will better understand why it's important to respect one another, especially in the musician community.
Beautiful guitar Shop...WOW!wish to be there and have 1 and Jam with Richie Sambora...
Richie - "Vince is trying to control me"
Orianthi - "Good luck"
Look at Orianthi, sunglasses on indoors, dressed in black . . . Just like a real rock star !!!
after two hours in there, they finally bought a plectrum... To share.

Being a Fender man, that 1950 is stellar sounding !
For $22,000 it better be...lol
The Fender strat at 6:40 brings tears to my eyes.
I lost one just like it in an apartment fire five years ago.
It wasn't a 1971, it was a way newer version made in the 1990's, but it had the same paint finish.
Sorry to hear about that fire and the loss of your guitar. I lost 3 guitars in a hurricane flood. You have a great taste when it comes to guitars...
So sorry lady
you are talking absolute SHIT!!!! Strats all sound the same actually. Its about the player and the settings.
10 BJ & u can buy new one !!😜
Oh that sucks. Hugs.
Aw man, this was an absolute pleasure watching this! Big love for Ritchie! Ori was badass! Thank you for this!!! Ritchie is just too damn cute!
I love those Fender sounds!!!!!!!!!! Both, so great to watch!!♥♥♥
Amazing.... Its a guitar toy store....they are in heaven with these amazing instruments..... Sounds great!!
Rich just makes me laugh - great to see him and Ori loving life and loving what they do. Meanwhile Jon and the band are loving selling units so all is good.
My Father, God bless his soul , herecently passed.
So I have the pleasure of inheriting my fathers 1969 Tele custom.
Many musicians have played this exact guitar. unfortunately I have no documentation of whom and when except three for the three photos I have of my Father and Merle Haggard Just an extra tidbit
of fact ... I have what was the original package that was waiting for him when he returned from service.
Unfortunately my Father passed away from Dimentha . But before... many of my friends had the pleasure of listening to him jam to the beautiful sound of his fingers.
I truly miss you my Father T.J.O
Richie, the guy that make me learn how to play guitar, genius... 😌🙌🙏
Orianthi loves that open E blues riff ending at the Hendrix chord
By listening to her voice she's an Australian and she's playing Stevie's blues by tommy Emmanuel
@@tasosdiaforetico7377 She is absolutely 💯 Aussie. Love her work.
Respect I'd played jammed with great Ozzy folk. Live love it.
This would be an awesome video series. Artists coming in and shopping for guitars for their upcoming tours, recordings, etc.
As one can see ( in Bon Jovi recordings ), Richie Sambora is one of the best vocalist / guitarist around.
Totally agree. His solo album was bad ass too ! Aka Stranger in this Town.
2:36 she plays Stevie's Blues by Tommy Emmanuel!! Cool to see her referencing another Aussie hero :)
She’s so sweet to take her grandpa to the store with her
Sugar daddy ;)
And yet he was banging her and you are not. So there's that ;)
Somebody has to drive
Orianthi was playing and Ritchie was really just testing them out. Looked like he had a process and knew very quickly if he liked it or it was lacking. Cool couple.

Always so cool hearing some people jamming at the music store as good as these two
Too bad its usually a bunch of dumbassed kids the manager won't keep under control.
That Broadcaster is incredible. Thanks for the vid Norm!
Or athani and Richie don't get much better than that that was an awesome show. Loved watching them play those beautiful guitars.
Music is such a wonderful connecter of people. If you play, even more so.
I feel hungover just looking at Sambora
so drunk
Doesn't he have a PR that looks after him ?! I mean it's cool to see him checking out guitars but in that state...
Richie was on that devils dander.
I can smell the stale cigarettes from here.
Those two can really play. I'm impressed!
Love to have them.withme when trying out jazxmaster fav Esquire, the no caster the green sparkle
Grerat stuff and nice to watch and listen...grtz from Holland to all:-)
It's comforting to know that not even rock star legends are immune to feeling the need to show off and impress (badly) when in a guitar shop. It's like as soon as you enter the shop, all your chops leave you and you are left running up and down the blues scale as quickly as you can. ;)
Damn bro, you touched my heart with that comment! I felt the same exact God damn way!
so true
And the guys running the shop have heard it all a million times before :-)
So true...puts people off going into a music shop...maybe thats why she's wearing a wig..
This is what happens when lead players go in a shop without any rhythm chops. And we all know lead sucks without good rhythm behind it.
It must be nice to be able to afford to buy every guitar in that shop. Yes I'm jealous.
jimmy fabs Not sure which makes me more jealous. Sambora being able to afford any of those guitars....or the fact that he's banging Orianthi....LOL
danimal097521 The first rock album I ever bought was Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet. Later of course I found out about Zeppelin and the other legendary bands.
***** I think she is a damn good player, and looks great to boot. If we're going down your road, they're both completely average players playing completely unoriginal blues licks. Thing is, they're there, and we're here (behind keyboards watching youtube videos of them), so I guess they've got something, right? Conviction? Confidence? Looks? Style? Presence? Who knows (not us, that's for sure) but you can't argue with the facts (they are on a jokes shopping trip and we're both really jealous).
jimmy fabs Jealous you say??? Me man... my socks are soaking wet... you've no idea how badly I've been drooling, man
+jimmy fabs
No fascist pigs should be allowed to have that much money while the poor suffer in poverty.
When Hillary is president she will make sure the pigs will never have enough money to waste on capitalistic nonsense like guitars.
Great guitars with great people. Enjoyed the video.
Orianthi - guitar Goddess and ultra cool beauty..very fortunate to have had her sign some stuff for me too. She just oozes talent.
Now here's a guy just enjoying life to it's fullest. Got to love Sambora in this vid. He's a legend who in this vid is just a regular guy who has the means to get any guitar he wants. He gets to surround himself with great people, as well as play the best and most responsive instruments available. I hope I can get there one day, myself. Why hate on this guy? Cheers!
That was nice of Orianthi's grandpa to come with her to the guitar store.
yes and in such a sober state....
LMAO

David Sauer Well, at least she found one with similar interests!!?
I think they`re a couple,which gives hope to us all :)
Love watching great players jamming like that, makes me go pickup that guitar and jam every time. .
God love them both, and Mr. Norman., so much Love
Both incredible players, smooth as fuck.
I must say when watchin this, that Sambora is top class guitarist, he is somehow able to putt out the best out of each guitar ! Listenin him playin all those beauties makes me high and only complain is that video is much too short !!
neither of them are that good of guitar players though, as seen by the repetition of the same 3 riffs in the key of e over and over. All pentatonic bs, no versatility
***** if you think orianthi is a "good guitarist" you should really look up some other players
+mike “watcher” smith I don't know why anyone would be that jealous of people running through pentatonic scales in a "bluesy" way, it's the same shit you can here by walking into any guitar shop in the world probably. I'm not saying they're bad players though, they're obviously not but there's nothing in these clips to be jealous about apart from Sambora might have smashed her fart box in that night, then i would be jealous. Anyway, they were just messing around trying out some guitars so it's probably not worth judging their guitar playing on this video.
You dont know shit and obviously don't play guitar. I suppose you think she is attractive too.
Dat sarcasm
My favorite band is Bon Jovi and ai love Richie Sambora’s music too so I really enjoyed this video
I got started on Bon Jovi before I could even talk because when I was born in 1992 the year the Keep the Faith album came out my Aunt Amanda who is a huge fan of Bon Jovi used to sing to me Bed Of Roses when I was a baby because she didn’t know any lullabies and the rest is history and I have been a fan ever since then
I saw Bon Jovi for the first time when I was in 2nd grade it was the Crush tour which was also my first ever concert too
I have seen Bon Jovi in concert 9 times since then and 6 of those times Richie was there as the lead guitar player for Bon Jovi
I am 28 years old now so I guess you can say I grew up on Bon Jovi music
I actually learned how to play guitar because of Bon Jovi
I just wish he would play one last tour with Jon and the rest of the guys in Bon Jovi and it would be so cool if they brought back both Richie on lead guitar and Alec John Such on bass guitar for one last tour that would be so cool to have all the original members of Bon Jovi on tour together once again one last time yeah I know they all preformed together on stage at the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Ceremony in Cleveland Ohio but to have them all go on tour for one last time that would be so cool to see as a fan of them and their music
Not the performance you had in mind or were talking about. This is earlier in 1995...the best cover ever! The singing is alright, but nothing like The Beatles or Joe Cocker's versions. The guitar is fuckin' wicked going to the level 10!! I'm a guy almost twice your age!

I read an interview of Clapton and it sounded like it made a lot of sense. Kudos to Norman and his techs getting these old guitars together. But Eric said, I had a bunch of vintage. rare guitars. Some one of a kind. But you know what. I couldn't play em. They had been played SO MUCH you really could only play them in open(folk) positions. No amount of work or modifications could make then stay in tune all the way up the neck. I had experts try.So I got em all together except for a couple "collectors items" and sold them. Put the money towards Crossroads(his Caribbean drug rehab center). Got after careful examination a black Strat(Blackie) and a Brown Strat(Brownie). I have guitar techs. After every performance or so they go over them, although I use Blackie the most and straighten em out so they are like brand new. And that is what I really want in the end. A guitar that stays in tune all the way up the neck. Now I noticed after 10 years of use he has replaced Blackie #1. But it made a lot of sense to me rather than Richie Sambora and Oriantha screwing around with these beautiful guitars. You know that effects and amps can provide the sound you want. With Jimi and Stevie Ray dead who knows better than Eric Clapton. Jimi was using a cry baby wah and Terry Kath noticed Jimi was using it but it's the player not the equipment.(Jimi and Terry were both great with the cry baby wah). Sometimes I think many of today's guitar players were born too late. They should be playing a Stradivarius violin from 1680 cause they have no idea that you can Roll Over Beethoven and tell Tchaikovsky the news.
WOW!! What is that funky lick, Richie plays at 01:46??? Sounds SO SO FRAKIN awesome..!!!!!!!!!!!

it sounds like you got me floating by jimi hendrix ,, take a listen to it .. kickass song

I love the plugging in and out of the live amps... pro a.f. . .
A Symbol of humility ... Sambora testing guitars using the shirt with the name of another great guitarist. Sambora one of the greatest rock guitarists of history.
Watched this episode a hundred times. A good one no doubt.
The reason behind playing a guitar out of the Em scale first or just simply playing an open E chord or A power chord is so that you can get the true tone of the guitar right away...It right away gives you an idea of what the possibilities of that instrument are..If it passes that test then you know to explore further.
Absolutely true. Great point, thanks a lot.

3:55 -- Best shot in the video, a lifelong musician exploring music.
Is still slide guitar right?
@@anhell32 That’s a resonator guitar. There are two basic versions: one for playing in your lap like she is doing, and another for playing “regular”. The lap-style typically have squared necks and suuuuuper high action. They’re only for using with a slide, and usually used with a solid slide (like she is holding, you don’t put a finger through it).
The other style is like a regular guitar with a curved neck. Still known for being used with a slide but opens up more possibilities.
(Note: These guitars are also known as a “Dobro”, but I believe the name “Dobro” is a model of guitar. Kind of like the “Band Aids” thing. :)
