    I miss the 80s.
    We had so much fun.

No joke. This is how I learned how to ski. I never took a ski lesson. My buddy and I would watch this video after school almost everyday from September to December 1986, when I went skiing for the first time. I was always a big fan of Tom Day and Glen Plake!

Had the pleasure of skiing with Demo Dave last weekend. He is the brother/brother-in-law of good friends of mine. It was a blast. Even got a complement on my form - that's a nice feather in my cap!

I was too young to ski in the 80's, but consider myself an advanced carver and initially watching this just to laugh at the silliness of the 80's with long straight skis, up and down twist action, but wow, it's actually surprisingly informative. That mogul section is impressive!

I still have a set of Raichle Flexon Comps from the early 1980's.

WOW!!! such a throwback, I used to steal my dads Warren Miller VHS's
My dad is a level 3 PSIA instructor, been in the PSIA since the 80s! Through him I met Dave Marriam, PJ Jones, and Max Lundberg over the years Ive skied!
Really wanted to follow in their footsteps, but music took the wheel. But who knows what the future has in store.

As a fellow musician; It certainly won't see anything as game changing as the Beatles or Warren Miller!!

@@AudioFreqx Totally. The song in the intro of this movie, (as well is WM's Steeps, Leaps, & Powder) is "Flying High," by Eric T and the Skis, took me forever to find the band!!

Could have used this film when I was young and single skiing moguls. Now that I am old and fat, I finally see it. Great info because I still am on my '98 200cm Dynastar S9 Coupe SL skis. I never transitioned to the fat skis. I have become that dinosaur on the slopes but I still have fun.

Thank you for uploading! This is a great film no matter its age! It has been a Christmas tradition for me to watch this since 2005 (when I prepared for my first ski trip). Do you know who sings the song at the end?

I tried to find out more about the song but came up empty handed sadly :/
I even went through the names in the credits and came up with nothing.
This video however is a classic 👍🏻

@@market9archives911 I wonder if Warren Miller's studio hired a band to compose it then? Maybe the studio has all rights to the song and it's sitting in a dusty archive somewhere. I Googled Demo Dave a couple of years ago, he's doing well. I would like to check out the others. They should do a reunion! It's amazing how much nostalgic magic can fit on a straight to VHS instructional film.

@@mynameisnotjerome1803 Its most likley Eric T and the Skies, He wrote "Flyin High, thats featured in the beginning of this movie, as well as WM's "Steeps, Leaps and Powder" as well as other songs. His 80s stuff is SUPER hard to find, the last album he made was in 2004 according to my research.
I would steal this from my dad (who is a PSIA member) as well as other WM films! I was a big fan of Demo Dave, and PJ Jones, i remember being about 7 years old and my dad coming home from teaching in the PSIA, and giving me an autographed picture of Demo Dave! When i was around 9 or 10, i got to ski with PJ Jones himself, and around 13 or 14 i met Max Lundberg at a PSIA seminar in Sun Valley Idaho. Seeing this film after all these years makes me wanna go at it again, last time i went, i was 16, after that i focused on being a music major, so who knows what the future has in store!
