For international watchers, it would be really helpful if accurate measurements are used ie cups, tablespoons, teaspoons. Saying a big glass of water can mean anything. I made this but had to guess the amount of water. Otherwise, I love Gujjuben's recipes.

Gujarati kadhi and khichdi is a comfort food for me as well. Perfect Gujarati kadhi is interplay of flavors like spicy, hot, sour, astringent and little sweet. During winter months, in my home we put fresh yellow & orange haldi paste as well. It tastes totally different, but very tasty. I also like to have potato onion subzi which is made in a peculiar way , along with this Pronthi and Planet Ayurveda Green Tea . This is light , nutritious evening meal. Sometimes, we make biscuit bhakri with this whole preparation.
