Pyro units usually shred through electro shields quite fast, so i dont think that will be a problem at all. Plus, ur not dealing any significant dmg even with other units when the enemies have elemental shields up anyways.
So any enemy with an electro aura will cut Emilie's damage in half for 30 seconds after she hits them. This include electro shields like from mages or lectors, but also thunder lawachurls, seahorses, iniquituous baptist, electro slimes, thunder bat, whopperflower, fatui hammerdudes, etc. Additionally, enemies that do electro damage will always have a risk of causing your Kazuha or sucrose abilities to absorb electro and thus mess with Emilie's damage. That might be an annoying side-effect of her A1 passive that will irritate players at times. Seems her damage is pretty good tho, good on hoyo for making a niche unit actually worth her weight.
Well, depends on your pyro app, if you can cancel quicken quickly then you are good. Shields... Yeah, it would kinda suck, but pyro and dendro are pretty good at deleting electro shields very quickly. And as for enemies with constant electro aura like thunder manifestation, well, don't pick her there, like, you don't pick Nuevillette against tulpa do you?
Yeah in case you don't know. Neuvilette which is the most broken char also get outplayed by Hydro slime and the Tulpa if he go solo.... Unless you play the catalyst that deal physical This is just pointless argument trying to pin a weakness on character...

It feels like almost every other Fountain character was made either for pure pyro, overload or now burning teams. It’s not what I was waiting from a hydro region.
She's getting so much hate that it just makes me want her more lol. I'm really excited for her as we finally have a unit centered around making burning viable. That's at least somewhat new and different. I dig it.
i'm hoping we get dendro sub dps that can make up for nahida's buffs foe Cyno. idk if that will ever happened though or you know quicken chevreuse for aggravate
emilie is looking very promising right now and not just that, as a character who wants to be paired with pyro the future is looking very bright for her seeing as were going into natlan the patch right after her and weve got at the very least one obviously meta pyro character coming, the pyro archon. as she is right now i think im gonna pull for her, unless she gets absolutely gutted during the upcoming beta changes.

that penalty for quicken activating seems too long. with how many enemies show up in the abyss with electro infusions-built in. 30 seconds is just ridiculous that needs lowered to like 8 seconds or something. any enemy with a permanent infusion is going to cripple her.
i would prefer if we had characters that actually made the reaction better instead of it just simply being there and pretending they're the X reaction character because it's irrelevant how strong that reaction is if it's just meant to (exist) like navia, chevreuse, neuvilette, etc... the reactions themselves are irrelevant in power their kit could just not include them as a catalyst and nothing would change. it's annoying as hell that hoyo does this because instead of fixing the reactions they just slap this hot dogshit onto a character and say it's fine because this character uses it while the reaction itself is still left in the dumpster for EVERY SINGLE OTHER CHARACTER when we have bullshit op reactions like hyperbloom and vaporize
i think its because they already make fixed base damage number of how each element dealt for easier into balancing of making new character. like usually all geo unit have high base damage for compensating to no reaction and burning deal less damage to avoid stronger vape. changing it can cause unbalanced just like zhongli case. niche character is their way to widen selling new character it is what it is is. character that do different skill but similar results can kill the character just like clorinde and keqing

Damn I was set to snipe Furina c1 but if Emilie becomes valuable with Arlecchino/Nilou/hyperbloom reactions she will be hard to skip. Being F2P has never been harder than in these 4.x patches
I’m in a worse situation, I don’t have Furina or Emilie. Plus with the rumored Liyue Chronicled banner coming up, it will be difficult getting enough primos for Furina Emilie and the Liyue character I want (Yelan) 😅
her kit relying on burning is interesting, but what kills the dream is the same as navias for me. they dont change crystalize/burn, they just use it to make their kit work.
She's a bit better than Navia when it comes to "fixing" an elemental reaction and I say this as someone who loves Navia. Emilie solves the problems of Burning microwaving your characters and the Dendro character doing low damage. She also lowkey "fixes" another problem inherit to Dendro as a whole where the Dendro characters themselves don't actually do much damage without abusing Quicken or Hyperbloom. Crystallise is still as bad as before Navia lol.
Just wait until Natlan. We are definitely getting characters that change reactions, like overload, crystalize and burning. That's why Chevrouse, Navia and Emely feel kinda incomplete right now
@@Kennnn192 I don't really think so personally. The big issue I see is that they don't want her benefiting from Quicken. This kills most of her potential, relegating her mostly to a Wrizzy and Ganyu support. Then there will be the question of how good her dendro application is. He's assuming 70% uptime on burn, but how does that compare to the uptime with Nahida instead? And this matters, because Melt. His damage calcs also do not reflect my experiences in game. Nahida doing 17% of Emilie's damage, while a non-vape Xiangling does 6/7th? Something is very off there. So to me, she's looking like, well, a Shenhe. A five star off-fielder that isn't worth picking up other than for those dedicated to a niche team. Beyond that, her damage looks to be set to the off-field damage standard, according to him, since he put it about equal to c0 Chiori, which is also about the same as c0 Yae. And as someone who loves using those characters, at c0, they're lackluster, damage-wise. They are characters I conned up not for quality of life, but because their numbers are not that good at base. Don't get me wrong. For people who want to play with burn, and don't use electro in their burn team, she'll be worth getting. But for most people, they should go for her only if they accept they will get limited use out of her. As far as Crystalize goes, it definitely isn't a strong reaction, so not worth going after. But it isn't bad to have as an added bonus. Especially with harder hitting enemies and things that hinder keeping our health up (enemies applying BoL on us, Furina draining hp). Problem is, most geos are very lackluster. And the main non-Navia exception to that is a shielder, which negates the point of crystalize entirely. What distinguishes Navia is that she's a geo worth using, and her burst is good for producing crystals. I would agree, though, that Navia doesn't fix crystalize, because, like Chevy and Emilie, these characters don't fix these underpowered reactions. They just are characters that operate at the same level as comparable characters while using the reaction to power themselves.
@@Axterix13Em is in a weird spot. She’ll probably be the best off field dendro applicator in multi wave content. Cyno and clorinde would do anything for her level of aoe dendro application and uptime… but given that her damage falls off of a cliff in aggravate, it’s really a question of is it worth it to pull her if she’s not in burning? To make it worse, she has no defensive utility and polearms have the worst support weapon options. Hoyo have me baffled at this kit given clorinde just came out.
Can you compare damage calculations for burning melt in a ganyu team and wriothesley team with nahida vs emilie? Asking because I main both characters.
Jstern's calcs for today ended up being 57k for Ganyu and 61k for Wriothesley. Best respective Nahida teams are like 5k off. Then again, I very much struggle to find the reason for Burn-Melt when Furina Vape-Melt blows it out of the water even at c0.
Honestly.. i hope she DOESN'T snapshot. Because very often Bennett will be deployed right before the on field carry, and having to eat up some of his buff uptime to snapshot Emili will be unfortunate
It wouldn't tho. Again, like tgs said if she could snapshot she will basically be equivalent to an on field dps. She will be like fischl but for burn. And thats broken because fischl does equal damage to alhaitham in hyperbloom. Does more damage than keqing and yae miko in aggravate etc. If 2 seconds of field time is all then she is fine imo.
I’m really excited for more burnmelt and burnvape, but I’m tired of Xiangling’s ER lol. I have high hopes that we’ll get a Xiangling dupe in Natland though, maybe that might even be the pyro archon

I might get her for my Wrio team if they don't change her too much (Hoyo please don't). Trying something new - like a character that wants to see the world burn - is pretty interesting to me so I would give her a chance lol
true i love wrio burn melt but the overall dps feels underwhelming due to 3 characters doing no dmg while wriothesley being an average carry so emilie will fix this if hopefully they don't nerf her
To NOT trigger any quicken or spread is quite manageable, just don't bring any electro unit. BUT, what if the one who apply the electro is non other than the enemy itself? just break it with a pyro unit, simple right? tbh, it sounds so simple but in reality, IT'S REALLY BAD AND FCKIN HARD IN PRACTICAL BATTLE, once you accidentally triggers electro related reaction with her, then you will lose one of your passive for the next 30 seconds. LIKE WTF?
You're talking about "accidentally" triggering a reaction as if one can magically happen on its own. If there's an Electro shield, break it with one of your Pyro units first. Or just don't bring her against Electro-infused enemies. It's not that hard. You get enemy previews for pretty much all the content in the game, so it's not like you won't be able to tell when there are going to be Electro enemies.
Finally been waiting to see what she’s like so I’ll have a reason to skip chlorinde sorry I meant electro keqing.Honestly,I just prefer pulling new characters that open up a new team archetype like burning(Emilie)than new characters(chlorinde)that are just sidegrades to other characters in already strong teams like aggravate
I really hope that Emilie will turn out strong. I've gotten some very good pieces of the burning artifact set like a 52 cv feather. I also have a few nice dendro damage goblets lying around that only Nahida gets to use. Also looking forward to dusting off my Cryo units and doing some burnmelt shenanigans. Please Hoyodevs don't nerf this girl.
I'm honestly disappointed that she's not a buffer. Like, come on, she's a perfumer. Her whole thing is is about scent and fragrance, and all you do with it is "lamp collects scent, then deals damage"? Bruh.

Do you have the slightest idea what a "buffer" even means? Also, the only thing that can be considered a buff that she has outside of C2 and C6 is the Burning resistance from her passive, so you're not even really correct in saying that she buffs herself.
The reduced quicken damage is kind of a lazy way to push players away from it. but i'm still interested in a character finally exploring the burning reaction
I feel like the reduced Quicken damage is the only way you can make her that good at Burning without stepping on Nahida's toes. The cabbage is so strong that in order to make a niche for other Dendro characters you have to really lock them into a specific niche
@maevethefox5912 could've given her lower Dendro app but higher scaling or something like that. So the buff she'd get from quicken would be worse than her burning-related buffs
They could have made her to be unable to proc spread or Quicken, rather than penalize her for quicken being there. This would allow her to be played in teams with electros, but not amp her damage up further.
Hi TGS, can i ask, when you have bar graphs that compare personal DPR or DPS, could you also include a number for each bar, or better yet put numbers on the axis? your graphs are very clean and well designed but I think having a number will help me compare better lol understand if thats too much work to implement in your design though. it might look too cluttered with how much info it already has 👍
either you have burgeon or burning, so no. You wouldnt have enough uptime on the burning buff and also Nahida seeds of skhanda produce more seeds in aoe
Childes hydro may or may not be powerful enough to overtake Emilies dendro app, which would lead to more burgeons than burnings, reducing her damage. A different character like Neuvi or Ayato might work tho

Intergrassional is the same team but with Nahida instead of Xiangling, and since Nahida is grass it’s intergrassional lmao Wait till you find out about soup, salad, oven and thundering furry😭
I mean yeah, she's cool.. But I feel they could've just made burning an actual good reaction to begin with. Restricting the potential of a reaction behind things like artifacts and characters bothers me especially considering the whole point of the game's combat system is it's elements.
100% pulling her, I like that she's off field, dendro, and has very comfortable skill uptime . Plus Natlan is coming soon I'm sure she'll get more teams
people say that shes gonna suck for electro shields and electro enemies. but if you play Emilie, you have a Pyro character in the team, and that character activates Overload, and thats 3x their Damage. So yeah, her damage decreases but the Pyro character damage increases, in those scenarios. Am i Wrong?
I wasn't necessarily getting the sense that she was super single target oriented, like there's a bit of a circle, but it's bigger than hydro infused DMC, which is more range than any fight I typically do, and it targets different enemies within? Maybe I missed something in my read through. Still, I'm psyched to be able to do some burn/melt shenanigans without Nahida making it instant-death if the burning gets on me.
Three things: 1. Pretty curious to see your impressions about clorinde in practice. 2. Emilie seems good but easily countered by electro, which means every time they want to nerf emilie they just need one or two enemies in the abyss with an electro shield or aura. 3. Very good job, keep up the good content bro!
From the leaks yes, she functions well as the only dendro in her burning comps. Whether its enough for other comps like Nilou Bloom as compared to other dendro units is still up for debate tho
To me she just doesn't look that useful for my Ganyu teams. Maybe slight upgrade in terms of convenience and her own damage, but I'm losing out on Ganyu's personal dmg. Wish she gave interrupt resist or something. Might still get her so that I can use melt Ganyu and another dendro team on the other side sometimes.
one of my favourite teams is Klee, nahida, purina and baizu. using burning to vape farina's damage as well as occasionally popping some burgeons with Klee is insanely fun so Emilie would be a perfect nahida replacement
Yeah. You play lyney normally with xiangling bennet kazuha. You can flex anyone in this team. But if you remove bennet replace him with a healer. If you replace kazuha with emillie she will do more damage bur buff less so they'll be equal but you lose aoe. And in this video tgs covered arle mono pyro. You can see that when you replace xiangling with emillie the team does the same damage (but emilie does slightly more). So yeah she is good with lyney especially if maybe you want to play xiangling with neuv on the other side or you want to play her with chevreuse raiden or clorinde on other side.
PSA currently, the CN text does not include the mechanic of the A1 being disabled for 30s after triggering Quicken (90% dmg reduction still exists) so electro shields shouldn't be a problem. This has likely just not been updated in the English text yet, especially as the English text does not include the 90% dmg reduction
Thanks god finally my burning artifacts has something to do. That domain give me a lot of burning artifacts instead of arlecchino/Clorinde artifact. Its make me mad and about to clean that artifacts.
The only problem is that if there’s any enemies with electro attacks that can be swirled or electro auras, she is really bad. I think instead of having the debuff based on the reaction, but if you have any electro characters in your party, so then she can still actually do damage if you’ve broken an electro shield etc

I don't. Nilou is already a walking artifact set and super restrictive with teams. I like that Emilie doesn't require only pyro and dendro characters

@@Kennnn192 I don't really think so personally. The big issue I see is that they don't want her benefiting from Quicken. This kills most of her potential, relegating her mostly to a Wrizzy and Ganyu support. Then there will be the question of how good her dendro application is. He's assuming 70% uptime on burn, but how does that compare to the uptime with Nahida instead? And this matters, because Melt. His damage calcs also do not reflect my experiences in game. Nahida doing 17% of Emilie's damage, while a non-vape Xiangling does 6/7th? Something is very off there. So to me, she's looking like, well, a Shenhe. A five star off-fielder that isn't worth picking up other than for those dedicated to a niche team. Beyond that, her damage looks to be set to the off-field damage standard, according to him, since he put it about equal to c0 Chiori, which is also about the same as c0 Yae. And as someone who loves using those characters, at c0, they're lackluster, damage-wise. They are characters I conned up not for quality of life, but because their numbers are not that good at base.
Don't get me wrong. For people who want to play with burn, and don't use electro in their burn team, she'll be worth getting. But for most people, they should go for her only if they accept they will get limited use out of her.
As far as Crystalize goes, it definitely isn't a strong reaction, so not worth going after. But it isn't bad to have as an added bonus. Especially with harder hitting enemies and things that hinder keeping our health up (enemies applying BoL on us, Furina draining hp). Problem is, most geos are very lackluster. And the main non-Navia exception to that is a shielder, which negates the point of crystalize entirely. What distinguishes Navia is that she's a geo worth using, and her burst is good for producing crystals. I would agree, though, that Navia doesn't fix crystalize, because, like Chevy and Emilie, these characters don't fix these underpowered reactions. They just are characters that operate at the same level as comparable characters while using the reaction to power themselves.
@@Axterix13Em is in a weird spot. She’ll probably be the best off field dendro applicator in multi wave content. Cyno and clorinde would do anything for her level of aoe dendro application and uptime… but given that her damage falls off of a cliff in aggravate, it’s really a question of is it worth it to pull her if she’s not in burning?
To make it worse, she has no defensive utility and polearms have the worst support weapon options. Hoyo have me baffled at this kit given clorinde just came out.
Can you compare damage calculations for burning melt in a ganyu team and wriothesley team with nahida vs emilie? Asking because I main both characters.
Emilie's variant does more damage in both teams
Jstern's calcs for today ended up being 57k for Ganyu and 61k for Wriothesley. Best respective Nahida teams are like 5k off.
Then again, I very much struggle to find the reason for Burn-Melt when Furina Vape-Melt blows it out of the water even at c0.

It wouldn't tho. Again, like tgs said if she could snapshot she will basically be equivalent to an on field dps. She will be like fischl but for burn. And thats broken because fischl does equal damage to alhaitham in hyperbloom. Does more damage than keqing and yae miko in aggravate etc.

I might get her for my Wrio team if they don't change her too much (Hoyo please don't). Trying something new - like a character that wants to see the world burn - is pretty interesting to me so I would give her a chance lol
true i love wrio burn melt but the overall dps feels underwhelming due to 3 characters doing no dmg while wriothesley being an average carry so emilie will fix this if hopefully they don't nerf her

To NOT trigger any quicken or spread is quite manageable, just don't bring any electro unit. BUT, what if the one who apply the electro is non other than the enemy itself? just break it with a pyro unit, simple right?
tbh, it sounds so simple but in reality, IT'S REALLY BAD AND FCKIN HARD IN PRACTICAL BATTLE, once you accidentally triggers electro related reaction with her, then you will lose one of your passive for the next 30 seconds. LIKE WTF?

You're talking about "accidentally" triggering a reaction as if one can magically happen on its own. If there's an Electro shield, break it with one of your Pyro units first. Or just don't bring her against Electro-infused enemies. It's not that hard. You get enemy previews for pretty much all the content in the game, so it's not like you won't be able to tell when there are going to be Electro enemies.

I really hope that Emilie will turn out strong. I've gotten some very good pieces of the burning artifact set like a 52 cv feather. I also have a few nice dendro damage goblets lying around that only Nahida gets to use. Also looking forward to dusting off my Cryo units and doing some burnmelt shenanigans. Please Hoyodevs don't nerf this girl.
I'm honestly disappointed that she's not a buffer. Like, come on, she's a perfumer. Her whole thing is is about scent and fragrance, and all you do with it is "lamp collects scent, then deals damage"? Bruh.

The reduced quicken damage is kind of a lazy way to push players away from it. but i'm still interested in a character finally exploring the burning reaction
If she doesn't have that then everybody would use Quicken
And also she would not get high scale number like this with Quicken in the equation
I feel like the reduced Quicken damage is the only way you can make her that good at Burning without stepping on Nahida's toes. The cabbage is so strong that in order to make a niche for other Dendro characters you have to really lock them into a specific niche

They could have made her to be unable to proc spread or Quicken, rather than penalize her for quicken being there. This would allow her to be played in teams with electros, but not amp her damage up further.

Childes hydro may or may not be powerful enough to overtake Emilies dendro app, which would lead to more burgeons than burnings, reducing her damage. A different character like Neuvi or Ayato might work tho

I mean yeah, she's cool.. But I feel they could've just made burning an actual good reaction to begin with. Restricting the potential of a reaction behind things like artifacts and characters bothers me especially considering the whole point of the game's combat system is it's elements.

She is burning Navia. Uses burning reactions as ammo to proc nukes. I hope they polish up her animations a bit more because she is so cool.
people say that shes gonna suck for electro shields and electro enemies. but if you play Emilie, you have a Pyro character in the team, and that character activates Overload, and thats 3x their Damage. So yeah, her damage decreases but the Pyro character damage increases, in those scenarios. Am i Wrong?
I wasn't necessarily getting the sense that she was super single target oriented, like there's a bit of a circle, but it's bigger than hydro infused DMC, which is more range than any fight I typically do, and it targets different enemies within?

Still, I'm psyched to be able to do some burn/melt shenanigans without Nahida making it instant-death if the burning gets on me.

1. Pretty curious to see your impressions about clorinde in practice.
2. Emilie seems good but easily countered by electro, which means every time they want to nerf emilie they just need one or two enemies in the abyss with an electro shield or aura.

From the leaks yes, she functions well as the only dendro in her burning comps. Whether its enough for other comps like Nilou Bloom as compared to other dendro units is still up for debate tho

To me she just doesn't look that useful for my Ganyu teams. Maybe slight upgrade in terms of convenience and her own damage, but I'm losing out on Ganyu's personal dmg. Wish she gave interrupt resist or something. Might still get her so that I can use melt Ganyu and another dendro team on the other side sometimes.

one of my favourite teams is Klee, nahida, purina and baizu. using burning to vape farina's damage as well as occasionally popping some burgeons with Klee is insanely fun so Emilie would be a perfect nahida replacement
The gag with nahida against aoe is that you have to switch again to her to apply dendro unlike yaoyao or baizhu. It's a bit annoying.

Yeah.
You play lyney normally with xiangling bennet kazuha.
You can flex anyone in this team. But if you remove bennet replace him with a healer. If you replace kazuha with emillie she will do more damage bur buff less so they'll be equal but you lose aoe.
And in this video tgs covered arle mono pyro. You can see that when you replace xiangling with emillie the team does the same damage (but emilie does slightly more). So yeah she is good with lyney especially if maybe you want to play xiangling with neuv on the other side or you want to play her with chevreuse raiden or clorinde on other side.
PSA currently, the CN text does not include the mechanic of the A1 being disabled for 30s after triggering Quicken (90% dmg reduction still exists) so electro shields shouldn't be a problem. This has likely just not been updated in the English text yet, especially as the English text does not include the 90% dmg reduction

I think instead of having the debuff based on the reaction, but if you have any electro characters in your party, so then she can still actually do damage if you’ve broken an electro shield etc
