    I wanted to edit that I was right the Palooza Glitter is not eye safe (it’s written very tiny on the back of the palette.) I have to say I’m extremely disappointed. I know some people are willing to take that risk but as someone who’s had two eye surgeries I am not. I really wish they had done something eye safe and left the chunky glitter as a single.

    • @charlsiec3132

      I completely agree. I ordered the uh huh honey palette on friday and I wish I knew the glitter was not eye safe. I totally assumed bc it was in a dang eye palette. That is pretty dangerous and irresponsible on CP's part and I hope no one has any complications from it :/

    • @seaturtlepoppy7679
      @seaturtlepoppy7679 5 лет назад +1

      I would be terrified to try that glitter because of previous eye surgeries and the fact that I probably should be giving my poor eyes more of a break from makeup ... But that apparently doesn’t stop me from applying glitter everywhere else.

      I avoid glitter for 2 reasons--eye safety concerns & environmental impact(unless it's biodegradeable)

    • @daynan1791
      @daynan1791 5 лет назад +2

      Yes, especially since palooza isn't new. It was released as a single pressed glitter when they released their neon colors! So, it was a strange choice. Maybe they tried to use up leftover stock with that?? Idk, but a super shock in the middle would've been better. I'm waiting for my palette to arrive.. I'm collecting all of their 9 pan monochromatics! Great job💛💛💛

    • @ravenlake9873

      It's not eye safe, either, so they used less environmentally safe packaging just so that they could include a glitter that's both bad for the environment and dangerous for the eyes. I just don't get that choice at all.

  • @warriorssaga13
    @warriorssaga13 5 лет назад +1

    Midas definitely won this round for me. I’m not into the pressed glitter in a palette situation with Colourpop or the plastic packaging. They actually sell that specific pressed glitter as a single shadow, so even if I liked pressed glitter and that really pretty duochrome, I would just get the glitter as a single and then get the Clionadh single you mentioned that’s a dupe for the duochrome shade (plus I LOVE Clionadh shimmers so that’s even better imo haha). Also, that pressed glitter is “not intended for use on or around the eye” so I’d rather avoid scratching my cornea 😬😬😬 But yes, awesome video! Your look came out amazing as always 💕

    I feel like with yellows you can't get enough variation between shades. Go pale and you end up with a straight up cream. Dark yellow is basically just brown. Warm toned yellow is orange and cool toned is pretty much green. I know you can have variations on yellow but honestly not enough to make a 9 pan palette without incorporating different colours that are just strongly yellow toned...Then again, I know people would then get upset they weren't 100% yellow so the only option is to have a lot of veeeeeeeery similar shades together :/ A yellow toned grungey palette would be awesome though!

    • @AmyLovesMakeup

      I feel the same way. I wasn’t necessarily expecting a full nine yellow shades. It made sense for this one to have accents 😊

  • @sleepystrugglz4586
    @sleepystrugglz4586 5 лет назад

    Thank you for th comparison. I've been hesitant about a yellow palette because I'm not sure how it would look on me, but I'm really liking the different tones in the Colourpop one. The Lemonade palette not only seems more cool toned, but I feel like the depth of most of the yellows are pretty similar with the exception of the brown-based color. For only $12, I might pull the trigger.

    • @AmyLovesMakeup

      I think yellow can be such a great accent shade so for $12 even if you don’t use it alone it can add a lot to other colors 😊

    Really enjoyed watching your comparisons of these palettes, Amy, and the beautiful look you created using each. Definitely agree the Midas has more depth & the chunky pressed glitter in the Colourpop palette would definitely be a deal- breaker for me. I don't wear a lot of yellow, but do have a few in my collection (probably enough to make do). Still, if I was in the market, Midas would win! 😊 💖 👍🏻 🥉

    • @AmyLovesMakeup
      @AmyLovesMakeup  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you I’m glad you liked it. I could get past the glitter when I thought it was eye safe but now it would be a deal breaker for me too. Very disappointed.

    • @scotzmnswife
      @scotzmnswife 5 лет назад

      @@AmyLovesMakeup, exactly! And as others have said, there's probably no glitter that's really considered "eye-safe" , but my understanding is that when the particles are round (spheres) & smaller, there's a chance that your eyes can flush them out naturally more easily as opposed to the big, chunky stuff. I don't wear contacts, but if I did, I definitely wouldn't touch anything glittery with a 10-foot barge pole in regards to my eyes. Mercy! 🙀

    • @AmyLovesMakeup
      @AmyLovesMakeup  5 лет назад +1

      scotzmnswife yeah I believe so too. I didn’t know that none were technically considered eye safe. I bought a pressed glitter shadow when trying a new brand for July and I feel like an idiot now 🙈😂

    • @scotzmnswife
      @scotzmnswife 5 лет назад

      @@AmyLovesMakeup, well you shouldn't feel stupid, as when something is marketed as a glitter shadow (or is a pressed glitter stuck into the middle of an eyeshadow palette), it is misleading customers into thinking it is meant for the eyes, with most people presuming it is safe to use in the eye area. Frankly, I don't think companies should be allowed to market unsafe glitters in conjunction with eye products/palettes, as it gives some customers a false sense of security. If McDonald's can lose a lawsuit for selling coffee that's too hot (despite their disclaimer on the cup), I'm thinking one of these cosmetics companies is just waiting to get the pants sued off of them. All it takes is one customer having a serious eye injury, & their disclaimer on the package will mean zilch in a court of law.

    RawBeautyKristi use the Cp glitter shade and she mentioned it was hurting her eye & it’s not eye safe! I was thinking that a lot of shades say that , but she was seriously wondering why they put that in the palette and she thinks the glitter may have irritated her eye! She used the sweet talk palette which has the pressed glitter in it , but that one she had no issues with. I herd Cp pressed glitter formula is better than most pressed glitters but something about the huge chunky glitter is why it could scratch the eye. Idk I ordered it but afraid to use the pressed glitter! Oh and it’s an existing shade that Cp already has.

    I have so many wishes for these palettes. I wish the CP one was in a more environmentally friendly packaging and that the glitter was actually both eye and earth safe. To have a not eye safe glitter right in the center means I’m buying eight shadows and a placeholder, not 9 shadows. And I kind of feel like the Midas palette has four of almost the same matte yellows. I wish that there was more variation there.
    And I think that at this point I’ve bought so many shadows that I do have these shades, albeit not in one place. I kind of wish that instead of a green palette with pops of yellow, I wish that Blush Tribe had released a yellow palette with pops of green. Sigh. Maybe this is all saving me money.
