that why you’re able to rotate the shears (when battery is getting caught on the metal) the benefit of this tool over the malco tool is you can cut with one hand instead of two hands as required with malco. anyways. Good review.
good video mate. been using these for about 4 yrs now. Use to run the malco turbo shears until they changed there head design, then swapped to the dewalt. speed is the key with these so the faster rpm the better u cut. i run it with the dewalt impact driver as nice in the hand and i use it with the driver upside down. highly recommend these for a cost effective metal shear.
I bought one from Lowes and put it on our Kobalt and It didn't do very well wouldn't stay connected to the drill. So I'm going to try and put it on another brand we have. Thanks for the tool in action..
Great review with various devices and cutting thicknesses. The Dewalt DT70670 has a 360° rotating head. You can cut in any position, the machine can go to 90°, so the battery doesn't bother you. Hug
This is JUST what I’m looking for! I need to make some support brackets for a vinyl fence using metal channel. I was debating how to cut the metal and this looks like it will work perfectly! 11:02 Thanks for showing this! I’m buying one right now!
I would think that if you used a rotary hammer type of drill, geared drive drill, or a dugga dugga air gun to power the attachment it would only be limited by the gap between the cutters as to what it would cut through (material depending)
I run the M18 cordless shears now but they’re bulky, would love to try this one out would be nice to throw in the tool bag. Thanks for the great content and opportunity!
Not doubting your choice, if I was richer I'd buy the Malco sheers, though which ones? there are so may to choose from, watched a guy use the same one in the video and he was cutting freestyle on a warped bit of 18 gauge scrap and it went round corners well.
I’d say these are best suited for straight cuts and large radius sweeping cuts. It does better going counterclockwise like red cutters, although you can do clockwise cuts if you practice a bit with it.
Ok so now a serious comment/question. I noticed from the link you pinned something that I didn't pick up on from your video and that may limit the types of tools that it can attach to. The "universal" brace looks like it will only work with cordless tools that have a flat type battery pack or a grip with a lump at the bottom for the brace to wedge onto. Any tool without that like a corded drill would have nothing for the brace to wedge into and therefore wouldn't brace. I guess you could technically attach a clamp of some kind to the base of the handle to take the place of the battery pack. Also I am not sure that I would be comfortable with the brace putting pressure onto the battery pack over time it seems that it would be damaging to the tool. Maybe this isn't a problem for the home gamer market where its use would be intermittent in most cases. It doesn't seem likely that it would be something used by a business or in an industrial setting. With the above in mind could a clamp or similar be used to effectively hold the brace in the same way that it functions when used with a cordless tool?
@@HVACToolReview Dude the thing is badass and cuts stuff way thicker than its rated for the heaviest i couldnt cut was 14 gauge and it sure chewed it up trying
@@HVACToolReview dude i literally walked up to a junk washing machine and punched a big enuff hole with a hachet to get the tool in there then cut me some nice big pieces out just as pretty as can be just to see if i could it is probably hands down one of the most useful things ive ever seen dewalt make
Saw in another video where they guy fliped the bracket around so it clamped onto the back of the milwaukee in a straight line with the 1/4 drive. This leaves the battery free. Also the dewalt cutting head can be rotated 90deg
I really liked the video, I was a little concerned at first didn't know what to expect, but as you showed it makes short work of varying thicknesses of sheet metal. Just what I need, I will be buying one. Thanks again, I always like to see what the professionals think, before I make a purchase of a tool I haven't used before. 🖖😎
I haven’t tried to cut into any furnaces with it, but I don’t think it would be a problem for. As long as the furnace casing isn’t abnormally thick this should work just fine. It’s rated to 18g but I think you could probably cut a little thicker stuff if you had to.
I was just curious as if it would make the 90 deg turns on the square hole. I ended up buying one. I also have the malco turbo shears. Looking forward to testing these dewalt ones out on my next install. Good video We need a HVAC tool channel
Dallas Miltenberger right on I’ve never tried the Malcos but I was pretty surprised with these. Let me know how you like them. I’m always open for new tools suggestions to try out as the pocket wallet allows!
I’ve noticed that the impact gets warm when running them for a little bit but mine haven’t gotten really hot. I don’t really run it continuously tho either, usually I just need a few cuts
Hello! I recently bought this shear tools and i've noticed that the upper part of the blade (the one that swivels up & down) it's a little loose (has a little play when it's not used). it's normal or it's something broken or untighten inside? can you please confirm if yours it's the same please? thank man!
HVAC Tool Review about a year and a half now, I try to learn as much as I can everyday and was put Into my own service truck after about 5 months. Trying to get better everyday, appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experiences
lol that yellow looks a little off from the regular DeWalt and the logo looks a bit cheap too. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't buy a knock off version of that attachment.
Pick up a set for yourself here! amzn.to/2S3XNFF
Had one for 2 years. Works great. Mostly use to cut return air sides on furnaces.
I love the way you do testing all tools, my man!

Just got mine last night. Ready to test it out at the job today! It actually fits the m12 Impact Driver as long as you use the 4.0 or 6.0 battery.
got on at xmas and was highly impressed i typically ust it upside down to avoid hand ups on my makita impact its a win all round!!!!
It's hard to believe something that small has such power.Nice vid.Thanks.
Nice channel! Definitely unique as I haven’t come across a channel specific for hvac tools. Cool concept man, appreciate you.
Thanks man! Yea try to do something a little more specific for our trade related tools. Thanks for watching!
I bought one from Lowes and put it on our Kobalt and It didn't do very well wouldn't stay connected to the drill. So I'm going to try and put it on another brand we have. Thanks for the tool in action..
I need one! Got a new project coming up! You convinced me!
One handed operation looks damn useful. Good review!
It’s legit! Thanks for watching!
Would love to see you demo this product on a few different gauges of duct/duct seams vs flat metal.
Would be nice to see how it cuts across roofing metal sheets
The metal shears are pretty neat and I can do a lot of things for them
That thing is pretty cool works better than I was expecting
For sure! Pretty awesome little attachment. 👍
Damn! My hands thank you for this review!

Where could I buy this one with the rotating head? I can't find it.

I just picked one up today , it fits DeWalt rather well but won't open up wide enough for Ridgid drills
Never seen this one looks sweet! I’ve always debated on picking up the Malco version
Yea man I was really surprised. And believe this a a bit cheaper than the Malco version
How long does shears last? Can they be sharpened?
I've been contemplating about getting some sheet metal tools. this looks like a good opportunity
Pick up a set! I think you will be pretty happy with them.
Looks like a very fun tool.
Great review. Using on different brands is very helpful!
Works a lot better than I expected.👍
For sure!
I would think that if you used a rotary hammer type of drill, geared drive drill, or a dugga dugga air gun to power the attachment it would only be limited by the gap between the cutters as to what it would cut through (material depending)
I'm looking at how you get the thing from the way it is in the package to fit on the drill! Did you unscrew some screws or what?
I run the M18 cordless shears now but they’re bulky, would love to try this one out would be nice to throw in the tool bag. Thanks for the great content and opportunity!
Yea man these are pretty small and they rip! Gonna have to buy another set for myself after I give these away 😂
I plan on going with the malco turbo shears and see how they do.
What do you like more about the Malcos? Let me know how you like them once you have them!
@@HVACToolReview it has a handle and can make turns easily. Plus making sheet metal tools is what Malco does.
Can’t argue with that! I Was just curious. I’d like to grab a set of the malcos and compare the two
Not doubting your choice, if I was richer I'd buy the Malco sheers, though which ones? there are so may to choose from, watched a guy use the same one in the video and he was cutting freestyle on a warped bit of 18 gauge scrap and it went round corners well.
I cut a lot of butler tin using tin snip. Wondering if that would do the job?
How is this compared to the malco version and the original malco version with the handle?
Nice ! Thank you!,I`m going to pick one up!
It’s a pretty cool tool!
You know how there’s right and left sheet metal cutters .. which of those two would this adapter replace?
I’d say these are best suited for straight cuts and large radius sweeping cuts. It does better going counterclockwise like red cutters, although you can do clockwise cuts if you practice a bit with it.
Love the one hand operation. Thanks for the videos!
Thanks for checking out the video!

How does it work on an electric drill, with the dealt shearer
Will this work for cutting fence?
OMG I need one of those in my life
How thick of sheet metal can this cut?
Awesome. The video I was looking for. Cheers
Nice Attachment
Thanks!
Will it cut stainless steel?
I would love to try it out
Ever try this out on thinner titanium sheets by chance? .5mm or 1mm gr5. I'm guessing the .5 would work, but unsure of the 1mm.
I just bought one today I like so far
That would be perfect, i do a lot of sheet metal cutting
Maybe you’ll win these. Probably Goni go to have to purchase another set for myself now!
I think it was a good review, that works pretty good . I think I’ll get one for work 👍
Nice. I'm surprised it seems better on the drill vs. impact. I just picked one up, as my hands are tired from using manual snips. ;)
Great reviews 👍
Works well. 👍
does it cut slate ?
Thank you for posting,, will this work on a Ryobi 18V cordless drill ?
I don't see why it wouldn't, it's pretty universal fitting.
paused the video going to go purchase this very instant
done on its way holy crap cant wait lol
Right on let me know how you like it. I gave the one away and had to order myself another one. Love that thing

It's a pretty good tool for hacking thru the plastic packaging it comes in.
Great tools
Might I suggest having more light. It's hard to see anything with it so dark
Looks pretty sweet!!
Just got one it looks super 👌 on video figure mine will do the same
Cool tool
be good if they made an attachment that cut c studs
Could you rotate the tip enough to where the battery won’t hit on the Milwaukee drill ?
Saw in another video where they guy fliped the bracket around so it clamped onto the back of the milwaukee in a straight line with the 1/4 drive. This leaves the battery free. Also the dewalt cutting head can be rotated 90deg
That thing looks incredible 🤙🏽
It was actually pretty awesome! 👊👍
HVAC Tool Review 👊🏽
Just turn the drill or attachement to cut side ways instead of straight so the battery wont catch.
Yeah buddy, works great
my dream tools😃
Thing is sick! Would love to have it
I thought so too, good luck winning this one!
Hi .. did you try this on Corrugated roofing?
Sorry I have not
Why does nobody test cutting curves and raised bumps with these things?
I need it to work on Fiber Cement hardi boards.
I gave up on 1/2”hardi because it is too difficult to cut. Anyone got any tips?
Pretty cool

Cool, never seen it before either for a Dewalt. Way quicker then my tin snips.
For sure, I may never use tin snips again 😂
Blades can be opened up to cut thicker material a little better
How do u think it would do cutting a return hole in side of furnace

@@HVACToolReview they felt kind of cheap with all the plastic. Bulky hard to get in spots. But they cut good
I just bought the same shears you have here. Have you noticed when you run it on the impact, the impact gets really hot?
I’ve noticed that the impact gets warm when running them for a little bit but mine haven’t gotten really hot. I don’t really run it continuously tho either, usually I just need a few cuts
I'd use a drill, impacts are for short burst use, screw in or out then rest.
I want to see it used on vinyl plank

better off with a grinder, unless your doing "light" cutting.
What about cutting Amazon cardboard boxes?
