This is Muchuni's recollection of how he joined Mau Mau, and how he took part in key battles at Othaya and at Ruiru river. It is clear from his account that Mau Mau had developed sophisticated war strategies, were committed and brave fighters albeit with few modern arms and didn't have proper communication technologies. However, during critical moments, they received support from fellow Africans fighting for the colonial forces.
