I think it's best to term mau mau a Kenyan native revolutionary movement against colonial oppression. Every phenomenon in history seemed to be shrouded in ambiguity and the same rings true of this mau mau movement. To a greater extent it achieved its goals and the one thing I like about mau mau movement is it inspired revolutionary rising not only in Kenya but in various african states to rise up against imperial domination. A typical example is my country Zimbabwe. Kenya and Zimbabwe struggles against British imperialism is very much the same.
The British colonizers demonized them because of their oathing practice....but they were. freedom fighters fighting to liberate KENYA .In those days what the white man said was gospel but today we know better ..... sadly they were sidelined after independence and many died in abject poverty , again thanks to the British

Mau mau,which translate to Natives(Black people's) independence is achievable in the absence of colonialism or Natives should be in control but not the foreigners,is traced back to an unidentified freedom lobby network.Here is a brief story of mau mau genesis and it's real meaning. In the late 40s,all tribes of Kenya including minority indians and Europeans United with intent to free Kenya fro colonialism. The Kikuyu fearing that they might not get back there captured land in the alliance,opted out and decided to face the colonialist on there own to reclaim their land.
