Kenyatta didn't deserve to be the president. Actually am among the few if any Kikuyu who hates that man. Kenya would be like Singapore and other countries which received independence so early as we. How can you steal from a naked man who has fought for what he is standing on. Why do Kenyatta family own vast lands both in Central and Riftvalley and worst of all even in coast province? Even if Baimunge was an illiterate, Kenyatta used the most barbaric method in executing justice to the fellow allies who fought so hard. The day I will see justice in Kenya is the day a leader immune to corruption and blackmail will recognize the blood shed and impose "purity" in justice. Kikuyu's might celebrate their own in presidency, but how many have enough resources courtesy of their own leaders? Very few if any. Walk through the stretch of Narumoru, you find a land associated to a single person stretching more than 10km. How can we utter justice and equity if such inequity practices are in place to date? We are not blind.
Since independence I bet the development made can't add up to 10% of what was done by they the British from 1930 when they declared Kenya one of their territories to 1953 when the Mau mau regime commenced.
I stand to be proved wrong, most of tribesmen are elected in the name of defending tribe properties, which is a total injustice since its not the properties of the common citizen but those of the corrupt leaders being protected. KENYA WILL ONE DAY WAKE UP. AND KENYATTA MESSED KENYA A BIG TIME, HE OWE US PEACE AND JUSTICE WHEREVER HE IS.

Otherwise, Kenya cannot pride itself in having a populace that is politically conscious because most of them do not know their history. They are simply guided to make political decisions that affect governance issues based on guesses and political sycophancy. Exposure of soldiers in World War II: Truly, kutembea kwingi ni kuona mengi. About the British 'expedition': the white man is a greedy brute and for Kenyans to fight each other in the 21st century is sad. Internal conflict will break you down while the new scramble for Africa will leave you. Think higher, work smarter and remember your ancestors...they expect you to do better now that you have history to learn from.

Official registration of the Mau Mau
On 11 November 2003, the Kibaki government formally registered the Mau Mau movement, disregarding the colonial-era legislation that had outlawed the organisation and branded its members "terrorists". In his remarks during the handing over of the certificate, Vice President Moody Awori regretted that it had taken 40 years for the group to be officially registered despite the sacrifices the Mau Mau had made for Kenya's independence.[27]

I am very impressed by the senior counsel articulation of the events behind the murder of the real heroes of the liberation. It's always the same especially with Africans, we are our worst enemy. Just like Lucky dive said, the enemy will stand aside and watch as we kill one another. Most African have a memory span of a warthog driven by greed.

As a historian lover Jomo Kenyatta and Tom Mboya were no heroes, they were just smart trick players who knew how to use cards to their own favour. The fact that Gen. Mwairama's family till this day is languishing in poverty shows how they were just being used.

I'm so glad to have come across this video at such a time as this. I'm currently on my fourth book that details the accounts of Mau Mau and the struggle for land and freedom.
I have had so many mixed emotions since I began this journey, I don't even know what to say and how to feel anymore.
Kenyatta should have handled this differently as soon as he assumed power. Kenyatta is the reason Kenya is such a fucked up nation 59 years later!
Yes, most of the Mau Mau were illiterate but what would it have cost if you grant them land and peace of mind as the bare minimum? Look at how they have all suffered and perished in poverty. My God.
    Long live MauMau😭❤️

The money was provided by the British government in the form of loans and grants to buy out the white settlers who wanted to leave. And the white settlers were compensated but most of that land was transferred to the new ruling class and in particular, Kenyatta and his friends.

His sole offence.... asking for land after indipendence. What happened to “Wiyathi na ithaka” that Maumau fought for?The betrayal is too painful.
