It's sad that the NA engine with the largest displacement and most cylinders, makes the least specific output.
(I went by the engine's exact displacement in CC)
3.2 v6 = 74.63hp/1000cc
3.6 v6 = 76.70hp/1000cc
4.2 v8 = 79.09hp/1000cc
6.0 W12 = 74.02hp/1000cc
I mean without taking into account that the 3.2 and the 5.0 are turbo diesel engines. Power isn't really a concern there when they're focusing on torquey diesel's to lug the huge lump of a car around.
Yes but the W12 is mainly tuned for low end torque, longevity and ride quality. VW could have pushed more power from that engine if they wanted

@@TIMED-Acceleration very true considering the pheaton is a luxury sedan, and the engine was tuned to be smooth. I know that engine makes high power numbers in turbo form in Bentley's. I can only imagine what a highly built NA version would be capable of with some real performance camshafts and high flow cylinder heads
