Just for future reference, when you put a connector onto your wire, try not to leave any bare wire sticking out of the back or front. You shouldn't see any copper. It helps prevent short circuits.
FYI. You dont need to drill a hole in the firewall. Just feed the wire through the existing hole on the right side where the police package wiring is fed through.
I'd honestly just recommend buying a real 2nd hand police siren off Ebay, you can get them for $50 all day. The Federal Signal PA300 would be perfect for a low key set up like this.

Ok, as an amateur electrical engineer, there are a few things that raise the hairs on my back: 1. Why do you not connect the negative/ground/neutral to the chassis of the vehicle? Your chassis is the "neutral" of the vehicle. Never EVER connect it directly to the battery unless you HAVE to. 2. Why are you not using a FUSE on the positive lead? If the siren ever shortcircuits, your car battery is dead as well with a fire hazard. And with that Chinese crap, a shortcircuit is not implausible. Why not buy a proper Whelen? 3. Bare copper wire has the nasty tendency to oxidize over time, ESPECIALLY in hot and humid environments. Was it too much to solder them wire extensions together instead of just braiding them and heat shrinking them together? Heatshrink, contrary to popular belief, doesn't make it airtight, moisture can still get in over time... If you're not sure what you're doing, and making a "tutorial", please, for the love of god, make it a proper one. This is a tutorial on making a time bomb, not a siren.

I installed a full "Code 3" brand Siren/PA and 3 position emergency light control box with discreet California Code 3 Compliant lights and a 100 watt speaker behind the grill of my 1990 Toyota Camry when I was a 17 year old Police Explorer. Our Electronic Technician that installed the same in the official vehicles was quite amazed and jealous. Anyway, Unitrol, Federal Signal, SVP and Code 3 are the best and most professional
It took me a bit to find the size online for the extender of the handset. What you need is a GE TL26190 Telephone In-Line Coupler and RJ22 Headset cable. You can find them both on amazon.
pretty good video, lays out the info i was looking for. I'd recommend to anyone doing this, to look up a lineman splice instead of the frayed braiding mr random uses. it'll work, but for one if you don't use glue lined heat shrink then moisture will get in there and make the connection worse with time. not to mention with a light tug you can pull the wires apart. better yet, buy some spade clips from the same autozone shelf you got the batt connectors at. or for something more permanent, buy a dollar store soldering iron and sink a bunch of solder into the joint, then heatshrink. Also there's already gasketed holes behind the dash to snake cabling in: you don't need to drill a sharp hole by your feet, which will inevitably shred and then short the phone line running through it.

Question for a Florida LEO. I am from Ohio and have a 200 watt Whelen siren on my truck as well as red lights. I use my truck for work (towing) as well as my county Emergency Management Agency - which we're permitted to have. If I travel to Florida to visit my dad, would they give me trouble for having it on my truck?

That's called a car alarm
Hot lead direct to battery? You are asking for a car fire
Isn't that bad but labels wrong but thats no big deal
Can You compare this siren with proffesional siren mount on police car? And tell how is diferent...
How is it all holding up it still works? And how about the speaker it still all good being thats the main part thats exposed to the weather

That's so illegal. But idc it's funny as hell.
