Where is the best place to buy a quad skates in Toronto?
I kept getting lots of interruptions while trying to watch this video, so I gave up on it. Did she ever mention what the purpose of pivots is? I can't figure it out. It looks like it's merely one of the stabilizing parts of a skate, but if it's adjustable, then it must have some other purpose.
Exactly. Why is it adjustable and what would one wish to adjust their pivot for? Which way should we adjust them for what end result in any given circumstance?
If the point of adjustment is simply to make sure the two ends meet, why would it even need to be adjustable?
Since some people keep their trucks looser and some tighter, it moves where the truck is in the kingpin, this allows the skater to make sure the pivot can be adjusted to keep the geometry of the truck to the kingpin correct
@@pixietyburczy1702 ahhh. So if you loosen your trucks, you’d want a longer pivot. If you skate with tight trucks, shorte it. Is that right?
She does mention at the end, that you would want to adjust everytime you change your trucks/cushions. Also, some people mod their skates by adding slide blocks, which would effect placement as well.
@@Yeahnoforsure777exactly!
I have the option on my riedell neo plates to upgrade to adjustable trucks, anyone think it’s worth it?
Not sure if I’m missing something here . Basically your saying don’t do it too tight and don’t do it too loose , so what’s the point of having adjustable pivots if you have to set them to a specific position . Pointless ??
my exact thoughts as well. nonetheless, informative video.
Thanks :)
i am so confused
None of that makes any logical sense as soon as you stand on your skates the nipple it will make contact with the cup this adjustment can only be for adjustment of lean angle higher will be greater lower less you cant be suspended with your full weight not making contact withe cup just because it adjusted short in length, it would collapse under your weight regardless and make contact this the only job of a ball and socket.
