      It's lacking that physical big man battle that was so common back then. The bigs of today are talented but they play more outside and playmake from all over the court. They are great players but its not as entertaining as watching 2 physical bigs just battle it out in the paint.

    Allen Houston had the sweetest jump shot stroke. Kinda like Ken Griffey Jr. in baseball. Flawless. And I LOVE how Charlie Ward came back to light tap Alonzo Mourning with his foot twice @ 8:31 LMAO.

    classic shit. That Knicks-Heat rivalry of the late 90s-early 00s was something else. I always felt like a fight was gonna break out every play lolz...nothing quite like The Garden at playoff time in the 90s. That 97 Knicks team was really good and they woulda gave the Bulls a fight in the ECF that year. I was looking forward to that series, but unfortunatelyit neva happened smh. Also, I think this was Ewing's last year as an all-star calibur center. He was moving really good that year, compared to 98-00 Ewing.

  • @oliverqueen444
    @oliverqueen444 8 месяцев назад +10

    they met four years in a row (97-00) with basically the same core groups (some changes in key players - Sprewell for Starks and Oakley - on NY), always went the distance (7, 5, 5, 7 games) and the last three times NY won the decisive game on Miami's homecourt. Amazing and probably never to be seen again.

      That’s God’s way of having revenge for those suspensions costing the Knicks a championship in 97. For the rest of the millennium, Miami was the Knicks’ bitch.

    • @jaymum23
      @jaymum23 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@damonsonnier34 I would take the Knicks decisively over the Jazz and give them a 50-50 versus the Bulls. The Knicks split the season series with both teams. They were playoff overachievers under Riley/Van Gundy. In 94, the Rockets embarrassed the Knicks twice during the season and yet they pushed it to a 7-game series and were even up 3-2.

    New York should've won this series then face the Bulls.
    Not claiming the Knicks will dethrone Chicago, but the new-look Knicks had a better lineup to keep pace with Airness at al. It's no longer dumping the ball to Ewing offense-wise. Perhaps for the first time, Ewing had better help offensively while trademark solid defense remains the same.
    No less than Scottie Pippen preferred New York.
    The Knicks were seeking a rematch too after they were eliminated in 5 by the same Bulls the previous Playoffs.

    This was probably the Knicks best chance at getting it done. They had a team good enough to beat MJ and the Bulls.
    The bogus split of suspensions over two games, along with Van Gundy's over usage of Chris Childs over Charlie Ward, ruined the Knicks' chances.

    I think bulls and Knicks would have been a better series this year if they didn't get into that scuffle to get half of that team suspended and in different games at that, that shirt didn't make any sense,I think NBA wanted the bulls to have an easy playoff run.

    Knicks got robbed this series in 1997! Would’ve been their last chance to beat the Bulls in the EFC! David Stern robbed the Knicks! Even though the Knicks beat the heat in 98,99,2000! 1997 hurt the most to me as a Knicks fan since 1990! Worst memories i have for the Knicks losses in the playoffs were! 1992 Vs the Bulls in 7 Games! Then 1993 Loses to the Bulls in 6 games! Robbed in Game 5 because of free throws 20/35!, 1994 Lost to the Rockets in the finals in 7 games! 1995 vs the Pacers in 7 games, 1997 Vs the heat in 7 games! Then 2012 under Mike Woodson lost to the Pacers in 6 games hurt the most! If the Knicks bought back Xavier McDaniel Knicks would’ve won championships in 1993,1994,1995
