      They drafted Olajuwon because he was very talented, and they needed a great center. The big E retired, and Caldwell Jones left after 83-84 season. They didn't need a guard like Mike! They drafted Olajuwon (C) to pair him with Ralph Sampson (PF)!

    Hakeem’s the man! Down to earth too. I used to watch him train Emeka Okafor and other centers at the Lifetime Fitness in Sugarland, TX. This was early in the morning. He’d tell the small group of us fans that we could watch if we stayed quiet and respectful. And we did. Other times he played pick up basketball with us. He always teamed up with the least talented and we would still lose to his team. Thanks for the memories, Dream!

    Hakeem was so dominant on defense. His positioning, timing, anticipation, quickness, tenacity and motor were all very impressive. Jordan always went into his moves so quickly, exquisite footwork and balance. Mad Max looked like MJ with that finish lol. All these guys were so athletic and competitive. Mad Max, Hakeem, MJ and Pippen were some of the best pure athletes in the NBA at this time. And would still be top tier athletes in todays game.

Jordan, Olajuwon, Pippen - so smooth, so competitive. three pointers stretch the court - yet, skill level of a distant three pointer are max at four (out of ten) when compared to these guys' footwork, movements, passing, layups, mid-jumpers. i guess that's why we are not no longer glued to a game like we were.

      @@gillianotto4582 Ill add another to help out your (OUR) guy Dream AND expose your bogusly false narrative at the same time... and that would be David robinson Spurs in 1995 absolutely OWNED THE ROCKETS in the regular season, I think they were 6 and 0 in the regular season against Rockets... but who won in the playoffs, yes the Rockets ... so you see how I just helped our guy yes OUR guy because I actually seen The Dream play in person in the 80s AND THE 90s... overall according to your viewpoint though , Robinson still owned Olajuwon overall. And I dont buy that, and i know neither do you... so you stop the rubbish. Yes it would have been nice if the Rockets could have made it to the Finals a little more often. I dont think the result would have been any different, mainly because the Bulls always found a way to eliminate great centers while MJ never EVER had one himself.. again proving his greatness... what I really would have loved to see is Jordan and Dream as teammates.. oh boy. But the Jazz the Sonics the Suns etc dispatched the Rockets without a great center themselves. You would say that none of those teams had "an answer" for Dream and that is true, but it doesnt mean they still couldnt win, because they all did many times.

    If Hakeem played with MJ and Pip, the Bulls would have won 15 championships.

    Recuerdo cómo ahora mismo y pensé que nunca lo iba a volver a ver ese tapón que le dio hakeen olajouan a Michael Jordan. Esa noche del 1992 en Houston siendo Don Cheany el coach de Houston. En ese entonces Houston contaba con un tremendo equipazo.en el cual estaba además de Vernon maxuel estaba othis torpe Kenny Smith y hakeen olajouan todos eran excelentes

    My favorite SG and Center. Amazing talent not just all athleticism like today's game. Hate seeing all those 3's. Miss REAL POST MOVES AND FOOTWORK. Today's game has NONE of that because of LeBron he NEVER developed ANY of it. Which is why he shall NEVER be called the Greatest of all time. These young kids are watching him when they should be watching old clips or Jordan Kobe and Hakeem

    • @jamespenny9482
      @jamespenny9482 21 день назад

      Yes! Lebron has degraded the game with his lower the shoulder, drive his defender back, put up ugly shot, cry foul, rinse & repeat. Nowhere near MJ's skill, footwork, and artistry. He would have made a great tight end and defensive end or outside linebacker in the NFL, playing both ways as they do in high school football. Instead, he plays football in the NBA.

    No way the Bulls would have beat the 94 and 95 Rockets. They had Kenny Smith and Vernon on this team. But you add Sam Cassell and Big Shot Rob. That front court of Olajuwon and Thorpe was just too tough. Nothing against Avery Johnson, but he wasn't the deep ball threat Cassell was.

      In this game, Olajuwon got the upper hand. Jordan was also one of the few to repeatedly block Hakeem in games too. There’s a game from the year before with Jordan blocking Hakeem 2-3 times on the same play. They loved going at one another. You could tell how pumped Hakeem was to play the Bulls.

      There’s another game from earlier in this season or the year before where Jordan blocks Hakeem a bunch of times in the same game, with authority. You can tell Hakeem
      Is pumped up for revenge here.

    The new era isn't more skilled at all. I think it's because point guards in this new era are score firt mentality. Moreover, the ball handlers do excessive dribbling and everyone shoots threes.
    I'm not even gonna use Iverson, Magic, White chocolate, magic, Tmac, Webber, etc.
    Remember how skilled Pistol Pete was😮
