I coded out the stop/start on my Wifes Mini. Its now 10 years old and still on the original battery. I think it will need changing this year however. Disabling stop/start is only a good thing for your vehicle.

A tip for you - it doesn't matter what information you put in regarding brand or serial number, as long as it is different than previously stored the BMS will register it as a new battery. The battery should only need coding when replaced, not when just disconnected. Updating the BMS after just having it disconnected will actually cause issues as the BMS thinks it is new and will try and over charge the battery.

Is there any reason I should ever have to change the capacity value? I also have Carista. I am going from the old style of battery to an AGM battery. Thanks.

My Carista doesn’t have battery registration option?
    Any advice?

If (after a system scan) Carista is not showing the option then your car does not have that capability
