@@baabaaer It's not just Cao Cao attire that ruined it. It's the fact it looks more like an opera rather than Cao Cao singing. I think this actor was a bit "closer" to the real-life Cao Cao but Chen Jianbin made Cao Cao more enjoyable with the "laughs"

I'll try to leave another reply with a megalink to the gentleman of the han version sometimes it doesn't work :( I prefer the 2010 version (the full series is available on RUclips, and the subtitles are superb). The story telling and characters are wonderful, but more focus is given to certain characters to help tell a story, causing it to diverge a bit from the novel (and history). Several major events are also cut. There's a heavy reliance on CGI for large battle scenes, and because of this, a lot of the armor kinda suck. Even with all of it's flaws, it is still a gem of television!
