I remember watching nerdy nummies when i used to say i couldnt cook or bake. A decade later and im watching your videos as a small at home bakery business owner. Thank you for what you do.
I've been making those Oreo truffles for years! I think I started in like 2015 making them. I make probably about 100 every Christmas to give away with my Christmas baking. They are always a hit! People gobble them up and I'm constantly told how much people love them! It definitely takes work to get the technique down to do the chocolate coating but it's worth it!
Our family has done them since the 90s! We've given up on making them look nice, they're tasty either way, but we definitely always refrigerate them a second time after they're shaped, lol. eta: And a third time, after they're made they just live in the fridge until they're all eaten.
My aunt has been making these for about 20 or 25 years. She somehow magically makes them look perfect. Mine turned out more like the ones in the video when I tried it, LOL.
I love making those Oreo truffles too! I'm glad she picked up on freezing them, that was such a vital instruction I received in my recipe, bummer it didn't make it to the viral part.
For the oreo truffles, I can see a few ways to make them better and less sweet. One, you can add some sea salt while mixing in the food processor or top them with sea salt after dipping them in the chocolate, which will help balance the sweetness. Two, you can dip them in dark chocolate, which is naturally more bitter than milk and white chocolate. And three, choose an oreo that is less sweet, such as the peanut butter, dark chocolate, or lemon-flavored oreo.
We always use the bittersweet "almond bark" chocolate (no almonds in it, but it was originally used on nuts like almonds) that is made for coating things like this and chocolate covered pretzels. Basically chocolate candy melts. They're still sweet, and you wouldn't want a whole plate of them, but one or two after dinner is a nice little treat!
i love these types of videos when Ro was working with the oreos and said “pulse. pulse” all i could think of was the lady in game of thrones saying “shame. shame”
I'm surprised you are just now discovering Oreo Truffles, but I am glad you got to try them! I wrapped mine in gold foil and attached little gold wings to make them a Golden Snitch for a HP themed party, which turned out cute. I prefer to make them smaller sized and coat them in dark chocolate, since it is so rich.
I’ve been watching Ro since 2012 and I love her baking videos and challenges!!❤❤she’s so funny, kind and charismatic person with other collabs she does!
Im so excited for this. You’re my literal childhood. I remember singing my best friend your song ❤ even if she’s not anymore, I still appreciate the good times :)
I made the Oreo truffles before tiktok was a thing. I make mine with white chocolate and I freeze them before dunking them. They are also good with mint Oreos
Can you try some tik tok recipes for us? Not just sweet ones but some unique savory recipes too?! That would be a nice change of pace and i would love to see you try unique Tiktok recipes!!
I've done quite a few videos like that over the years. I hope you can find and watch them, hopefully you enjoy them as well. Thank you for the recommendation though I definitely be doing more of them in the future too!
My mom has been making those oreo balls for 15 years, I can't believe you've never heard of/tried them before! We use white chocolate though ❤ Absolutely delicious
The whipped cream hack does work when you want small amounts of soft whipped cream. The trick is in the ratio of cream to air in the jar, you started out with to much cream for it to work.
The whip cream method is great for getting the end of jams or spreads in jars. I've put heavy cream in a raspberry jam jar and, after shaking, I got whipped cream with a light raspberry flavor.
Thanks for always making Saturdays fun. Especially on a Saturday after having to put a beloved animal darling down after 18 wonderful years. Luv you, silly Ro ♥️
Thanks for testing these out! As someone who doesn't like super strong sweets, but wants easier recipes due to chronic illness, you're advice and reviews really help out. Now I would like to impart some wisdom to perhaps make the cookie cake pops at 0:36 and the oreo truffles at 12:12 less sweeter for us peeps who are already sweet enough 😂 You can probably remove the icing with a knife to create the coating. Mix icing with softened cream cheese, microwave at small intervals and stir if you need it more liquidy. You can also use semi-sweet chocolate or dark chocolate to offset some sweetness. I would also mix some coconut oil into any of the chocolate you wish to coat so that the chocolate will be thinner and create a thinner coat of chocolate. Coconut oil is the ingredient that makes those "magic shells" over ice cream, so with the frozen cake balls, it should do the same with a quick dip! I will be making a variety of these with my modifications and I will tag you @RosannaPansino
I sandwich sugar cookie dough between two sheets of parchment paper, so I don't have to add any extra flour to the cookies. I also use a yard stick cut in half as dough guides... I like the flat yard sticks, because they don't roll away when pressure is applied to them.
Don't know how I feel about the bottle and lace ones being referred to as TikTok hacks when they are as old as time but the sharing of knowledge is what counts.
I gave the whipped cream hack a try because I happened to have whipping cream handy. It actually turned into whipped cream just shy of 3 minutes of shaking, but for comparison I used an egg beater and had whipped cream in 45 seconds. Not worth the effort, but it technically worked!
We love the Oreos, but we do it with peppermint. We also make them in cubes by freezing it in a block and cutting it into small squares. Then we refreeze and dip them in increments of 5. So we leave all the others in the freezer and swap out a new one when we put.the completed 5 in the freezer.
I’ve been making those Oreo truffles for years! My mom got the recipe from a coworker when I was around 10 (I’m 24 now). I usually use double stuff because I like the extra cream. Depending on who I’m making them for, I’ll use either semisweet or milk chocolate. Freezing the balls definitely helps a lot. I also recommend putting the cookies in a bag and whacking them with a spoon to break them down, it’s therapeutic lol
I love your nail polish. I love your videos. You are one of my all time favorite bakers. 12:49 when did Mike color his hair, and grow a mustache? He is looking good.
I coat my Oreo truffles in a combination of Oreo crumbs and coco powder - It’s so much easier than chocolate, and really tasty! The coco powder cuts the sweetness a little, which I like.
I have watched since the Mario star video, it has seemed like such a long journey and my personal ups and downs have never made it easy but I always enjoy watching Ro in her element
I recommend people trying the Oreo truffles they’re really good yes they’re rich but if you like that you will love them! We make them for Christmas and make them lumpy for “coal”
Those cakepops are definitely going on my list for parties. I love cake pops but making the dough takes time. The last cake pops i made were the geode cakepops from your cookbook and everyone loved them. I even have your candymelts pot. I love all your kitchen products.
My family loves the Oreo truffles…they are easy and since we have a lot of food allergies, we can use the gluten free Oreos, vegan cream cheese and then dip them in allergy free chocolate. Really good! I do often cut down a little on the cream cheese and add in a little powdered sugar and cocoa powder to help the texture.
Idea for the lace hack, ice in white frosting and dust with cocoa powder so it looks like the lace design more. OR edible glitter for fun color and shine!! Fun fact, I know from experience you can still gutter ball with those bumpers 🤣🤣

Anyway, super fun video as always, I just thought y'all might appreciate the feedback that I can see what you're doing and why but it was also pretty intense in a 20 minute video

Ro! Thanks for all your hardwork and effort into making your content the best it can be! It truly warms my hearth and proves you're one of the best for a reason! May God bless you! Thanks For making this day better with this
When I was in college and living in a dorm, a lot of the girls would make Oreo truffles for their dates especially around Valentine’s Day because it was an easy no-bake recipe and there was only like one kitchen the whole building had to share.
Love tiktok recipes! Among my favorite are the pesto egg-in-a-whole, baked feta pasta and soufflé pancakes! Thanks For this ro! Huge fan from Colombia! Hearth please ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've made the Oreo cake balls multiple times, and they're best if you put fresh raspberries in the center! Gives that tart that breaks up the sweetness a bit.
I like using cool whip lids, frosting lids, things like that and you can trace a design on them and use an exacto or something like that and cut them out and use those with powdered sugar for Dusting decorating devices, also works with cocoa powder
The hack I was taught for crispy edges and soft centers is to let the cookies sit on the baking tray for 2-3 minutes before transferring to the cooling rack after they’re baked all the way. I usually do 2 1/2 minutes and it’s never steered me wrong 👍
The cookie cake pop recipe and oreo truffles I have done versions of these with all types of biscuits. As I am from Australia I may have different biscuits or cookies to US. First try was with mint slice, which is kind of like a chocolate covered oreo with mint icing in the middle. My first try I soon discovered that the dough was a little too soft. I also had flecks of chocolate that did not really mixed. I then placed the dough in the microwave for 30 secs to allow the icing and the chocolate to melt into the cream cheese a little. This helped the cream cheese to stabilise a lot more. My recipes was a packet of biscuits to 1/2 a block of cream cheese always, I always refridgerated between mixing the dough and also forming the balls. If no chocolate on biscuits I added a little melted chocolate to the cream cheese to help it stabilise a little more. I love doing this recipe with different flavoured Tim Tams, ginger snaps (with added crystalized ginger pieces. I always used dark chocolate to cut the richness. I also have added fruit powders in there to intensify the flavour and cut the richness. My other trick was to make my own decoration for the top. a little homemade marshmallow fondant (marshmallows melted in the microwave with a little water and icing sugar to form a dough) This brough a s'mores type of feel with the top decoration tasting of marshmallows. These truffles never last long when I put them out and are very quick and easy. Hope these tips help 😀
For the Oreo truffles which I've been making since 2005 with my mom, we would dip them in a darker chocolate or a semisweet chocolate. It helps balance the sweetness at least a lil bit.
Loft house cookies don’t really even have a particularly stand out flavor but that soft fluffy texture in my opinion the reason I like them so much is that they taste like back in the days when my biggest anxiety was that I couldn’t color in the lines as well as my kindergarten art partner and one of the boys in my class kept Yankin my ponytail!😣😂 😊mmm nostalgia is the Best flavor ever lol
I made those Oreo truffles (one recipe vegan & another standard) for Christmas 2022 gifts. Everyone loved them, though in moderation because they are super rich, as you said. I do remember freezing them hard before dipping. I've seen some of the tips before, though some I had not. I agree with you on your conclusions. Thanks for testing these, so we know if it's useful or not worth it.
I’ve made the Oreo truffle balls and they are so easy and so good. I don’t know why you had issues with them falling apart after dipping, I never have and I don’t chill them very long before dipping.
I always put my Oreo balls back in the fridge/freezer before I dip them. I like to top mine with a little sea salt or salted caramel to cut the sweetness a bit. The Lemon oreos also make amazing cake balls.
The Oreo balls are much better with white chocolate rather than milk chocolate. I also refrigerate the dough before and after I make the balls so they stay together when I dip them. I make them for my staff and they love them. The lace decorations were beautiful!
I have missed these videos! Thank you Ro for posting😁 Ro can you do another video with testing kitchen gadgets with ijustine? I love those videos too😁🙏
We make the “Oreo truffle balls” every year for Christmas. We just call them Oreo balls 😂 but I’ve found the best way to prevent them from falling apart is to do it in small batches and put them in deep freeze on metal sheet pan for 2 days.
I’m a 2000 baby and all my friends up to 5 years older than and younger than me (as well as me and my family) grew up with Lofthouse cookies and they are still a staple at a get-together!
