    Can anyone please compliment the actor Bryan. Bryan was good at begging for he’s life, I felt it was real and actually felt sorry for him. Especially when he scream out “mom, MOM!”. I believe most people at their most desperate moment cries out for their mother. Joel character shows how cold he’s character is by still killing him. It’s not like Joel wanted to kill him but had to kill him.

    People want this show to copying literally eveything from the game lol. If they did that, it would be the most boring and predictable show ever. You're better off playing the video game is you want every little sequence and detail the same.
    I'm glad they're changing things up while staying true to the core of the story. That's how you do a video game adaptation. This is going to get nominated for some Emmy awards too for being well made.

    Overall a great scene, interesting how they incorporated the hotel encounter where Ellie saves Joel into this part - but definitely could've used more of Joel's violence and defensive nature. Out of anything this moment would've been a great example to display that aggression and brutality like you feel in the game. Almost perfectly translated except for that one thing

    My first mercy kill was the same, several rounds went through and he was still alive, in my mind I was sorry, but they were the enemies
    Edit: the reason we do mercy kills is because they don’t suffer more and can’t be saved, if we have time it is a stab through the left arm pit twist which kills the heart, but if not it is a shot through the heart or head, it is gruesome to do things like these but had to be done

    I think this scene could’ve use more action. In the game, one of the Joel's specialities is how dangerous he is. He is a cold-blooded crazy old man who can brutally kill someone if wronged to him and his loved ones. Of course he has also emotions and shit but this aspect is important as they are. I love the show, but I think it's lacking some fight and action scenes.

    • @bubble.mp4
      @bubble.mp4 Год назад +14

      I think they’re still doing a good job of showing that side of Joel, like through that scene at the end of episode 1, or the end of this scene.
      It’s definitely different from the games, but those had to have more action since the bulk of that game is playing it. With the show, they can’t just have consistent action, and they also can’t have crazy large encounters like the game. You can suspend disbelief about that in a video game, but it’s a lot harder in a grounded TV show. I think it’s a good compromise so far, and next week seems like it’ll have some strong action scenes

    I’m liking the show so far but man, they nerfed Joel so much in the show compared to the game. I understand they’re trying to make him more relatable but one of the aspects of Joel was how brutal he could get when he was protecting people he cared for. If you don’t know what I mean, search up the car ambush scene in the game. I think it’s much better.

    • @gamerdude746
      @gamerdude746 Год назад +13

      It's the nature of video games versus TV mediums.
      In video games it makes sense that Joel's an absolute beast that can take on entire groups solo, because there needs to be enemies and cinematic setpieces to fight against in a game or else it gets stale and boring.
      Television has the luxury of pacing, slowing things down to emphasize themes and writing and story in an episodic format. They explore Joel's hardness in other ways: implication, exposition, and scenes and moments like where he willingly offs a wounded kid here.

      Just wait until the episode where Ellie is kidnapped by David. I think we’ll see Hurricane Joel in that episode.
      Because now they’re bonding, he’s already grown attached to her. And also, I think the reason that he’s not showing that animalistic side is because he doesn’t want to terrify Ellie with what he’s really, TRULY capable of.
      Just my $0.02 😊

    • @danthechiefsfan8822
      @danthechiefsfan8822 Год назад +3

      @@scifisamurai7794 honestly, I didn’t think of it like that. I hope that’s the case. I guess the Ambush scene is one of my favourite parts of the game so I was upset when they changed it a little bit. However, that would be a good storyline where we don’t get to see that side of Joel and then Ellie gets taken, so he just breaks. Things like the interrogation scene are parts of the game that they must keep in to fully capture Joel’s character.

      @danthechiefsfan8822 Год назад +3

      @@gamerdude746 I understand. You obviously can’t have Joel killing like 20 guys, it’s just not realistic and would bore the viewer in terms of TV. Maybe you’re right in the sense where they are trying to capture his brutal side in different ways. However, I hope they eventually build up to the most brutal side that we see in Joel such as in the hospital at the end of the game or when Ellie gets taken like the guy below your response had suggested.
