HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 31 июл 2024
- This video I breakdown the foundations of developing a berimbolo. There is so many different variations you can use I wanted to create a simple starting system anyone can use to start learning this sequence. In the future I will do a follow up video overviewing the crab ride and leg drag series as well.

This bluebelt is staring into my soul. He knows all of my secrets, my failings. There is no escape.
One of the best berimbolo instructionals I've ever seen.
Thanks a lot buddy! Just tried to put some core principles together but honestly there is so much more to these systems than just what I showed here.
I agree
100%
Man you could easily release this as a paid instructional and people would pay a pretty penny for these details, you're a real one for dropping this for free man 🤟👏. Much love from Guam 🇬🇺
Thanks buddy! There is actually so much more to the bolo than this, it was just a simple intro honestly. I wouldn’t do anything on this topic for instructional for quite a while. You should check out Espen Mathiesen instructional though it’s really good.
I was thinking the same ⬆️
AMAZING guide on the bolo. I've watched many instructionals and this is by far the best guide I've watched. Can't believe you're releasing this stuff for free man. Thank you.
Thanks a lot buddy! I started working it a lot about a year and half ago so been trying to get up to speed on all the systems, really starting to hit the level now where I feel like it’s all making sense. Been a long road developing.
This is so well organized. These positions can be so hard to mentally map out and understand, and the way you break it down makes it easy to digest. I love the suggested training portion as well. You are an amazing instructor!
Exactly what I was looking for. I like how you break down the move into different "positions" and points that we can work on.
Yeah I think understanding the core mechanics is more important in the beginning than trying to systemize everything.
This was extremely helpful for me to understand the critical details. Very high level content as usual sir. Thanks so much for sharing Jon and keep on it buddy! 🙏👊🤙
This absolutely blows my mind! This has everything I've ever seen about bolo in a whole year plus lots of useful extras! I love this! Thank you Jon and hope to see you again in person!
your videos always cover moves/positions that are relevant and practical, and they are very well put together from instructions to production. thanks jon.
Thanks so much buddy! I always try to put everything in context of when and why you will use it.
The bolo instructional we all been waiting for !!
Legend 🔥
I thought it would help to have a nice foundational start, there is really so much more to this I showed like 2 percent. You should check out espen instructional he is so good with it.
gracias entrenador, soy de Indonesia. tus instrucciones sobre el brimbolo me llevaron a convertirme en el ganador del campeonato de ju jitsu a nivel de la provincia de Yogyakarta
This is the best Berimbolo Guide I have seen so far. Amazing.... Thank you for that.
awesome video Jon! really appreciate the mechanics of how to "rock up" from failed bolo into the stomp
fantastic breakdown - love the details and watching you take the gold nuggets from the world champs youve trained with.
This is hands down the best instructional in bolo ; I truly appreciate this; it’s something I’ve been working on, and just watching this has helped tremendously
More of videos like this professor! Super helpful and very very informative in 1 video only
I can't believe I've just found this, superb content which is helping my understanding so much
what a homie for making this free.
This video is super informative, thank you so much! 🙏🏽
Just awesome. Thank you for your time
Excellent session on bolo!! Thank you
A lot of useful modified Bolo as instructed..Thank you indeed.
This is fantastic. Excellent skills in TEACHING, Sir. Thanks for breaking it down.
is this man seriously dropping a full on bolo instructional for free in this economy?
Hahah I’m a madman. Honestly this is such a small fraction of the position and systems, to me it’s just a nice intro for people to learn and start implementing but I have evolved it so much since we last trained. We need to take a call soon. Good luck this weekend buddy! I’m assuming this is Yohan right
Great explanation, thanks a lot. Just had our professor explained it for the first time, and your video really hit same concepts and really solidified it. oss🙏
wow this is extremely generous thanks Jon
This is so good. Thanks alot for this. Great startingpoint!
No problem buddy it’s such a difficult thing to start I’m sure this is gonna help you in your way!
JT always coming through with the fire 🔥 I watched the Amsterdam seminar video and was looking for some additional pointers. Thank you 🙏🏽
Yeah this will really work perfectly with that seminar content!
This was amazing. I’m learning this now. I’m going to be studying this vid so much!! I like doing the bolo. Ty bud!!
No problem hope it helps you on your way developing your bolo!
Best explanation ever!
Thank you, sensei!
What a gem 💎! Thanks Jon!
No problem buddy hope it helps you on your bolo journey
I think you are one of the best instructor in the world.just got my blue belt and try to understand the bolo system, and this video is on point.Thank you for that, much appreciated, from Hungary
Gets blue belt and immediately starts spamming bolos. Based
Excellent instructional Jon!
Thanks a lot Brock!!
thanks!!!love it.i made my first bolo via ur video.
really helped for now lets see if i can actually pull this off in the evening
I had an idea about getting to the stomp position from the stack the other gld to find something on it already posted!
I’ve been putting this into practice in training it helped so much. Usually I just yeet into it and sometimes I’d get it and sometimes I’d lose it. Now I have a way better understanding of what is happening. Thx again Jon
Happy to hear it buddy!! That’s what I made it for!
Thank you!
Amazing!

Very cool 🎉🎉🎉
Very nice!
Thanks a lot buddy!
I have a bit of a history getting toe held ( not even sure that’s the proper term) as I establish the shield across their waist
Great vid !!!
Thanks a lot!
Excellent
Thanks!
amazing videos amazing informations greetings from Geneva im a Mastwo student and I been one time in one of your seminars salutations et merci bcp
De Rien! Hope I hope I can visit you guys there again someday! Happy all the videos have been helping.
Jon, love the videos btw.
How do you deal with people grabbing on to your legs or attempting leglocks when going for the stomp? It always prevents me from progressing towards the back.
The right thigh tight to his hips was a key detail for me.
thx
watched this a whole bunch.
Thanks man
No problem hope it helps!
Ohh wow, I love the SLX counter and from failed knee cut position.... my coach might not see that coming 😅
Yeah the slx counter is super powerful!!
Amazing stuff :) I've generally avoided delariva and super grippy hook type techniques because I don't feel like I have the best curl with my toes ("hammer toes" - they curl down, rather than up). Reviewing this again, I'm wondering... What's *your* perspective on the criticality of the toes and how they curl/hook, for positions like this and others?
Col cool
holy shit, this is like a whole mini instructional you are the man! Btw are you ever going to release more instructionals for pay on your site. Really looking forward to an advanced full double sleeve system you mentioned was coming on there. did you still plan on releasing that?
Yeah for sure I’m finishing up my guard retention instructional now and then I’ll be doing double sleeve next!
@@JonThomasBJJ awesome! im happy to pay for more stuff on your site for all the great free content you put out. your stuff has helped me so much.
I can't wait to try this and mess it up
respect
Thanks buddy
thanks
No problem
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Wish I could give this 1000 likes.
Thanks buddy! Videos like this are less broadly popular because it’s so specific, but I know the core fans will really appreciate it. Trying to keep the content varied.
De la Riva is my favourite
When would you opt for the x hook variation like in the video you did with Espen?
I like the x hook variation if when I do the initial inversion I can get their weight loaded on my chest, or as a transition from a leg drag. It’s a very different variation than I showed in this series. It’s crazy because there is so many variations and styles to a bolos
Keenan Cornelius and others say the Berimbolo doesn't work. Should I take time to learn it anyway? Probably they are saying it doesn't work at the highest levels. But, good idea to practice anyway at a lower level? Or is Berimbolo no longer worth getting good at?
Berimbolo is 100 percent worth investing time in. Mikey Muscimeci won more world titles than any other American and did it almost completely with Berimbolo. Bolo crab ride is even used no gi. It works at the top level and honestly I just don’t understand someone saying the opposite when there is so much evidence that it works in black belt world title finals.
Guys had his Blue Belt for 16 years
i keep re-watching this one...BOLO instructional?
Jon, have you ever looked at working with other BJJ guys/channels?
Yeah I am in Sweden so is a bit of a trip as most are in US but I will definitely do some in future
@@JonThomasBJJ nice! Eyes on anyone in particular? Jordan, Chewy, Brandon, Keenan?
Do you offer privates on the berimbolo?
Yeah sure if I’m there I’d be happy to help.
@@JonThomasBJJ do you train in the US? I live in Arizona. I'm looking to better my berimbolo, crab ride, etc.
Jesus-jitsu
How do u get to the mirrored position in the first place? Bit useless as you didn’t explain that
Commenting now to compare my progress in a month or a year when this comment is liked 🤙
Hope you evolve quick buddy! Will probably make a follow up on this soon
good instructional, but is it not better to grab my opponents belt?
Thank you!
No problem!
