I have the type s, if you get one get the type s since its makes 40 more hp, 160 horsepowers is def a little small by todays standards, its a 2 door corolla essentially
the benefit is that this engine can take constant punishment unlike a corolla which would break from driving hard. the joy of the K series is the reliable power, not necessarily high power
This i always tought was overall a good looking car except the front...it's the shape of the lights that i don't like. Love the rear and everything else...nice purchase this is a solid car...these last forever with a bit of love.
Amazing car. I sold it a couple of months ago but it held its own for 3 years. I restored the seats, added a lip kit, lowered it, and had it running like a champ. I have an updated walk around on my channel if you wanted to check out how it looked before I sold it.
Is a 230k mile in a 2003 Acura good for about 2500$ will I be looking at engine repairs or other problems more than one? I like this car but I wouldn’t spend 5k on it but if it’s a reliable and cheap high mileage rsx that won’t break down on me by the next month I think it would be the perfect daily driver for me. Please I would appreciate your expertise on any issues or problems I can expect in this mile range.
well it all depends on how you see the car. If it looks to be in good condition and well taken care of, the k20 engine can handle 200k+ miles with no problems. For $2500 you can probably get better deals though. I paid $5000 for mine with 99k miles. The seats were torn and it was dirty but i cleaned it up and luckily two years later still no problems. engine and transmission are the most important components for a car, so i would recommend test driving it and seeing how you like it.
J. Sauce I would get something better but if I had the cash but I need a commuter ASAP yet I want to ride in style so I hope this rsx I’m looking at with 230k can last me to the 300k with no problems but simple maintenance the thing is everywhere I search people talk about them like 130-170k is already super high miles for an rsx and can’t see to find anyone who can speak on a 300k rsx so I’m very hesitant to get it. Found it in a post from a dealer the car has no damage on the exterior clean title the paint is good no scratches interior is kinda dirty but not damaged except a rip in the driver seat it’s had 4 owners but the car seems to look new from the exterior no engine pics so can’t judge the car completely and make a convincing decision to take major interest. Yet thank you for answering I was not expecting you to answer this makes you a great guy.
@@crazye3572 Anytime brother. mine was far from perfect when i first bought it but little by little ive been getting it to where I want it. I have a couple of videos of my cars progress if you want to check it out. I just uploaded a video of the RSX looks with coilovers installed as well. If you end up not buying that 230k mile RSX defintely keep looking because they are amazing cars. I love mine.
J. Sauce yes they seem to be that’s what I keep hearing. N for sure I’ll check ur vids out I’m very intrigued for this vehicle the more I look at it I get nothing but good vibes from it. Glad u like ur car I hope to feel the same and enjoy one soon as well.
Hey man all i can say is its a great car. Hasnt let me down yet and is pretty quick compared to other cars in this price range. If you can get one in good condition and stock i say jump on it because they are running out!
Hi, I’m going to look at a 2003 rsx tomorrow for my first car. I think I’m gonna start with an exhaust and lowering springs. Could you suggest anything to me? Or something I should be aware of when looking at it. Thanks!
Hey, sorry i just saw this. Did you end up getting your RSX? I started off with an intake, then an exhaust, then I did some cosmetic mods like headlights and wing, then a front lip. Got a hood bra, then I just recently got some coilovers. I have an updated video I just uploaded if you want to check it out!
What's k pro? I have an angled feeler gauge and a 10 wrench that's all that needed and of course TDC on each cyl. I'm gonna adjust mine soon. The knock on my RSX is unmistakable
got mine for 5,500 from a dealership in san diego. It was a clean title. It was a good deal considering the majority of rsx in socal are ridiculously over priced or completely trashed. Where are you trying to find one?
That's good that you found a good deal. I been searching a lot on Craigslist, OfferUp etc.. The ones in dealerships from what I've seen in NJ tend to be very overpriced. The ones I've found on Craigslist have been poorly modified and most sellers have no documentation nor recollection of any maintenance history nor records. In fact ,when you ask the seller for any vehicle history they tend to get annoyed and expect you to buy a check engine light headache. I'm being patient in the hunt and hopefully I'll come across a clean stock one. It doesn't matter if it's the base or type-s as long as it's a clean stock car.
man i feel that. Im not too sure about east coast pricing but Im sure going to some dealership would be more worth it than taking a risk on some stranger from craigslist. I think i paid a little too much for mine but hey over a year later its still running fine. I think the few hundred youll pay extra from a dealer is worth the ease of mind. I hope you find your rsx man because they are awesome!
Thank you. I'm going to try and find a clean stock one at a dealer. Even if it costs more, I wont have to deal with the headache of buying from third party sellers. That's great that your car is still running fine after a year of ownership. Hopefully your car runs trouble free for many more years to come.
My bad lol i used to have a 98 acura integra so when i got the rsx i just associated acura with integra haha but ya known as the honda integra in japan s/o bluesuzy
Hows it treating you?.going to look at an 03 tomorrow
Man i want a RSX type S in decent-good condition and cant find any for under 12k its crazy
Really? Where you from? Can you drive manual? There’s tuns in my state and around for 3-7k

Mine has 258000 miles they go for ever
Martin Bullla you have any oil leaks? Also what did you do in particular to keep it going?
Anthony Lopez it leaks i just keep it full with synthetic oil and change it every 5000
Martin Bullla Nice. You ever change the vtec solenoid or Valve cover gasket?
