This video is a review of Helly Hansen Impertech rain gear for bow hunting.
I just bought a Helly Hansen rain coat like yours, and I’m a traditional bow hunter too. Can’t wait until spring bear to test it out.
They work great. Just remember to thermal regularate walking in and out so you don't over heat. Amazing rain gear and will keep you completely dry!
Helly Hansen makes me hella handsome as I lend a helping hand son, because honesty and integrity is their corporate policy. As I trek the mountains and seven seas, Helly Hansen makes it a breeze.
Lol. Well said!
I know this is old, but I just bought a set based on your review. Thanks
I still use this set for my pressure washing. Love it
@tradbowpodcast I'm a truck driver. We deliver cooking oil to McDonald's and other large chains, and I work nights. This rain has proved too much for my work issued "rain gear" I had a similar pair of foul weather gear when I worked on the fishing boats in the late 90s I can't wait to have it in my bag for work
great review
Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the helpful review.
@@ggrimm79 glad you enjoyed it
Thank you very much very informative. 🙏🇨🇦
Welcome
I have one for many years. Not bad if you dont move to much but as soon as I climb a hill or just get moving, it becomes a sauna. Mine is still very flexible but is leaking badly from around neck/shoulder area. It is though and doesnt not make noise like some others. I'm kinda sad to hear it is the best thing on the market....
Loved this stuff. I use firstlite and kuiu rain gear now and much prefer them over this now. But these helly impertechs were fantastic for their time.
What good rain hat do you recommend? Large brim? I need help, thanks
Out door research Sombrero. It's gortex and my all time favorite.
I have 3/4 length Guide Coat. It rained a lot here in Seattle the last 2 winters. The coat does absorb some water at the hem, which you can easily wring out. The polyester lining will get damp from body moisture, but you'll stay warm. Unlike Gore-tex, this stuff does what it's supposed to.
I work in Bellevue on the light rail last 2 winters lol
have you found anything that is better since this video or is this still what you are using?
Great question! I have not worn the impertech hunting in a couple years bit still wear it doing other stuff outside. Still great gear. I now wear first lite rain gear. I did a review on the stuff I use a couple months ago. More expensive but so worth it. Technology in fabrics has finally made rain gear that beats a rubber suit. And first light and kuiu have that tech. The impertech is still great. But all of the down sides have been fixed with firstlite and kuiu rain gear. But at a steeper price.
@@SamkoTradBow Do you have any tips for KUIU raingear? I have some of their axis collection and Kenai. Very nice and lightweight but it does seem fragile. Is their rain gear durable enough for the price?
@@LeeBro999 never handled either of thst line. I have chugatch jacket and its definitely tough and durable as far as rain gear goes.
How tall are you? I am 5’8 and around 190 lbs. I have a size large coat coming in the mail tomorrow. I’m nervous it will be too big.
im 5'6 and 175lbs. Good news is if it is too big amazon has very easy returns.
Ottimo look!!
What size is yours?
Don't remeber and I finally had to throw it out. Lasted 20 years!
How tall are you and weight pls
5'6" and 175
thanks hopefully 1 x fits 230
@keithsanchez5700 if not send back and get 2x. Most places today are easy returns
Looks good
I just ordered this per your recommendation. One question as I will be using it this weekend while hanging trail cams in the rain. Will this material be ok to spray permethrin on it. Just don't want it to break down due to some chemical. But wanting to be as tick free as possible at the same time lol.
not sure on the tick spray. if It were me I'd spray my clothes underneath and then put on rain gear. or shoot an email to Helle Hansen and ask them. I know I have been covered in 100% feet many times in the gear while bear hunting and never had a problem. but I also didn't spray it right on the gear. but I'm sure tons of it got on there from my hands and sweat. you will love the gear. wetter it gets quite it gets. doesn't freeze. and keeps you bone dry. then 10 minutes after you hang it in camp it's completely dry and ready for the morning. it's not the quietest but quiet enough to not worry me. was the number one used rain gear buy Alaskan guides for over 20 years.
idk i just bought a HH rainsuit like that one, and minutes after wearing it i start sweating
yep its great but you have to make sure to thermal regulate in warm temps. once temps are in the 50s and cooler its amazing stuff.
I love helly Hansen for there offshore sailing gear and there alpine jackets but I want to throttle whoever designed the storm commercial fishing gear I had it for a few hours and it wore through the flaps on the jackets were the buttons are covered and the pants were torn by me catching a bite of rope as I coiled it they are so think and non durable it's like a sailor who hates fishermen made it even the use of buttons over the zip mean that it takes extra time to get your gear on and off as apossed to simply hook and loop and the neoprene sleeve cuffs mean your gloves have to be either very short to be on over the jacket or long to be under the jacket. If the gloves are short you end up getting your hand filthy dirty every time the gloves come off and if there long the inside of the sleeves gets filthy dirty . They basically made a sailors version of guy cotton gear and added useless pockets and made it to think for any real work as apossed to just making basic think and durable gear.
How much did this guy get paid to shill this HH?
helly hansen paid me nothing. no compaines do. all video reviews base on my opinion on items ive purchased.
I bought some and the bib was unusable because it pulled up in the crotch so hard it is painful.
Adjust the shoulder straps to lower the crotch.
PERO PORQUE MATAR OSOS 😢😢😢
NO MATEN ANIMALES QUE ESTAN EN EXTINCION
That's a medium? and you normally wear an extra large?
No I'm a large and bought extra large to fit over extra clothing. If I said that wrong I'm sorry
@@SamkoTradBow No worries thanks for the clarification
Take a breath buddy, but great review 👍
