Spent my surfing life waiting for days like this.I would long board and if there wasn’t a lull I’d never make it outside.often swam out towing my board. One wave session for me.thanks really brings back he memories.70 yrs old now,this Is as close as I get these days.
Ferg, I really liked your comment. The one wave session really hit a cord. It is considered a victory if you catch a good wave on the one wave session when your standing on the sand looking out after the, one and done, Thank You
Used to surf OB many years ago. You captured the best conditions for my money. Early October, warm offshores not too strong, water as warm as it's going to get and sun still strong. And not too big.
It reminds me of davenport where they kite surf, and hold long board contests. Typical winds part of the deal, and the very rare occasional shark. At 3:36 very good wave. Thank You
This is hard to surf. A lot more water moving than it looks. The paddle out is punishing. Lining up to be in the right place for the sets very difficult. Never surfed here, but have surfed New England winter solo similar size, similar conditions. Spooooky.

I know how you feel. I'm coming up on 65 myself, and moved to the middle of the country about 25 yrs ago. still missing the surf.

I finally stopped surfing OB when I duck dove under an outside set and came up next to a big seal that had its head bitten off.

Had the chance to surf OB like this once. Didn't have the balls for the paddle out
I lived and surfed there for about a year; moving up from Santa Cruz. It’s a wild, heavy spot. Cold, big rips, big currents, and you feel it.
one awesome wave. went to sfsu in the mid 80s. Hardly anybody surfed there then. Spent a few days out there alone. Spooky for sure.
