Needed this video.
I was at carnegie hall, about 3 places away from performing Liszt's libestraum no.3 and my hands got so cold from nervousness and backstage's air. What I do is that I try to grab a practicing room as soon as I can, spend a minute doing simple scales and then heating up my hands using HAND WARMERS. It also helps to move around and loosen your muscles!!
By doing this I played effortlessly and better than I do in practice sessions. Great video!!
"The Pianist" warm up his hands by playing ballade no 1 coda 💀
Who?
@@PianoTechSupport I am talking about the movie, The Pianist. A polish pianist who survived the Nazis invade of Poland in ww2
@demon9166 ah that "pianist" 😂 well you can warm up with whatever as long as it's not in tempo.
I'm also struggling with cold hands, but I do stretch my fingers every morning and I start slow as you mentioned, doing the "Mozart's Trill" with hands separate, then chromatic scales with 123 and 345, then I stretch to the max lenght my handspan (but really carefully). I have learnt to do this warmup by a good pianist that's also here on YT, if you want to check her tutorial on the Mozart's Trill her name Is :Danae Dörken.
Thank you for the nice video, but what I struggle the most Is having warm hands before playing the piano, I wish there was a way to get them warm without playing anything before 🙂, good luck on your piano practice !
What was the sonata at 2:47
Also this was really helpful video
Sounds like hammerklavier
waldstein
the more fat you have the faster you warm up especially with hot water but when you have very low fat you tend to lose the warmth that you just got from the water cuz fat is designed to keep your warm
Great point!
