Just found your channel. Excellent Content. Helpful for whole new generation learning about LTO and understaing how they work! -- Another sub for you sir!
Hi there. Watching from Australia. I bought a LTO6 drive used off eBay. What does it mean if I have suspended writes. I have already cleaned the heads with ISO and used a cleaning tape. Should try letting the ISO soak for a while? The Lifetime metres of tape processed is 5675634. But only 2 head cleaning operations. Is the drive too old or is it more likely a clogged head? I have another drive which has a clicking sound when moving at full speed. Sounds like the bearings are catching though I'm not sure which. Are any of the bearings serviceable at all? I got into this as a hobby but there is unfortunately very little information about maintaining these drives. Thanks for your channel.
Hi Henniee: You have about 30% the sequence is important. the only clue I will give is to use 99.9% ISO all other have additives that will effect the head. Looks like you are not using Fuji manufactured media sold by IBM and Dell. Act accordingly Glad you enjoyed our video our competitors also look at these as a result we do not reveal all of our techniques. Regards - Dan
