+Aaron B ADAM HAS DONE THAT QUITE A LOT IN THE PAST.HE PROBABLY DOES NOT HAVE THE EDIT TIME RIGHT NOW..ONE THAT COMES TO MIND IS WHAT ABOUT BOB BUT I KNOW FOR SURE HE HAS DONE THAT WITH MANY OTHERS..
+Joe Mamma I agree. Adam has included reference clips in the past but being on the road the way he is he may not have been able to do it for this particular video. Personally I don't know how he manages to edit all his regular videos because if I were touring the country in a van it would be really tough for me to take the time to sit for hours editing clips, locating reference video to insert at just the right place, and putting together all the content he does :)
This is amazing. Big Fish is one Tim Burton movie that I still haven't seen. Just never had a desire to. But now after seeing this, I want to. Thanks, Adam!
Oh man...this movie. You have no idea how emotionally attached to this movie I am. The dad in this movie is 100% my dad. This made a HUGE impact on my & my sisters when it first came out,we were blown away. My dad has been telling wild tall tales since we were kids. We all agreed when my dad dies were going to gather together and watch this movie in his honor
Have never seen the movie Big Fish but plan to now. Much Thanks for visiting this area to show us what one does not expect to see--an island with lovely abandoned buildings !
Just watched the video and watch the movie for the first time because of your channel what a great movie had to watch your video again love your channel and all the cool movie locations you have been to. Thanks
The people in the area and the owner of the property wanted it to be left to turn it into a tourist attraction and it still is but due to lack of visitors it had fallen to decay. Nothing really there anymore but the owner still maintains the property and you're still allowed to visit with permission.
My husband and I are actually living in our motor home here (until we can find some land to build on) I can look to my left and see Jackson Lake and if I look to my right..... what's left of spectre...... there are 24 goats out here on the island. Fun place to visit. Very popular for photo shoots. Only 3 bucks to enter and it's very well kept! The owners are amazing! If you will go like the FB page "Jackson Lake Island" you can see the new baby goat pics! As well as anything else Spectre related.
It's been a while since the last filming location (my faves) and ive gotta admit to getting a huge rush when Adam said "Join me..........shall you". Keep 'em coming Adam. Great stuff.
Hey Adam thanks for the great adventures came across one of your videos and was hooked as of right now iam in the process of watching all of them love the comedic aspect of the vids keeps it interesting my kids even love watching the woo once again thank you keep them coming
I love the movie Big Fish. Also I am a long time subscriber of DIHYW. So this video made me really happy. Too bad it's all gone. Nothing to go back for.
That is awesome. I remember this movie but didn't know all of those trees were fake. Man, they did a good job because they look pretty damn real. Good find, Adam! Brings back memories.
Thanks for showing that. I love that movie and always wondered where it was filmed at, but didn't have the patience to look into it. That must have been cool and creepy at the same time. Cause as we all know Tim Burton has a beautiful but very strange imagination. 🤔
I never saw this Tim Burton film for whatever reason.Glad i clicked on this one. Will have to take some time and watch this film.I live about an hour and a half from this location and never knew Tim Burton Filmed a movie in Alabama.
Actually watching it this weekend.Great channel Adam and i will be tuned in as always.Adam i have never made a direct request before but it is possible,in the future for you do a filming location vid for the movie ''When We Were Soldiers''starring Mel Gibson and Sam Elliott??It was filmed in and around the Columbus Georgia and the Ft Benning Georgia areas. Thanks again Adam!
logan kerr His main channel videos aren't like his daily Vlogs. Decay is Headed your way is about a year behind due to them not wanting people to watch their videos and then destroy properties.
I enjoy watching your videos of abandoned places immensely. However, even though I typically like Tim Burton movies, never saw this one and I'm 46. Nice video, though, Adam.
I remember when you went there :) I also am a big fan of Tom and Burt from the Decay channel. I think I started watching their channel after you met up with him 3 or 4 years ago.
Rock Doctor - you have a good memory. Wow! I don't think anyone has ever remember that many of our videos. I'm impressed, and I appreciate you making me feel better about doing these videos. Tom
Wow! I didn't know that was a real town specifically built for filming the movie, that's pretty crazy. Wonder how much that all cost. But it's also really weird to see an incomplete faux town that was never meant to be a real town just sitting to rot like an actual abandoned town. It's art imitating life I guess.
Hey Adam! Off topic question. If I remember right, weren't you banned from disney parks at one time because of one of these videos? I noticed quite a few new, Disney related videos, I'm hoping this means you came to some kind of agreement with them, or your time out is over? I like the disney videos, and was happy to see some new ones!
The security at Disney parks think they are tuff. They "tried" to ban my friend for paparazzi work when their own workers tip him off. Disney security use regular walkie Talkies. Get a police scanner an you can listen. All you have to do is get a signal jammer an their regular radios will not work. They call everything in vita cell phone so a jammer is a good investment.
exploring with josh just went here and the whole place was super cleaned up and nice looking. no shrubs around the houses the grass was cut. do they maybe do that periodically? looked super nice
So glad that you went before everything got burnt down and/or vandalised! Can't believe try just leave stuff after the filming although it wasn't as sad as knowing that the My Girl tree was basically a fake! :-( love your videos Adam!
There is a abandoned water park in Florence Alabama it is located right by the Tn River. maybe some day you can go check it out. I been by it quit a few times. ;)
I would love to go on an adventures like these. Live very near the now gone Glass Bank in Cocoa Beach. Man ol man keep up the vids. Thx again Master AdamtheWoo
The Movie was shot in Wetumpka AL. The big white house the boys father lived in is a private resident still there today. The scene where the giant and boy are walking out of town is modern day downtown Wetumpka. The Spectra town is kept up the town of Millbrook just out side of Montgomery Al.They charge admission It cost $2.00 to visit the set.
This was 15 minutes down the road from my house. I lived in millbrook Alabama a few months ago. I'm still waiting to go and see this set. You can pay the owners of the land a few bucks and they will give you a passcode for their gate and let you on the land to see the set.
I'm having a facial now. With 20 mins of hydrating the skin with a fruity mask, there's nothing better than enjoying a little woo time by watching this video☺️👍 best day off ever!
with places like this (movies, or video/picture documented) you should should show a now and then at the end. I think that would be pretty cool to see.
In Lafayette Louisianan where I live, theres this coolie system in the neighborhood that leads to this group of tunnels that you can only go so far into and then they get too small. But its called The Tunnel of Hell. Its even got that painted up above the entrance and has been that way since was before I was born which was 1975. When you go inside there you see people tagging the place since the 60s and 70s and apparently Sharks were scary back then because it says beware of sharks.
Was this recently filmed by you, Adam? Pretty interesting stuff here, never really entirely watched Big Fish, seen bits and pieces of it though, but interesting scenery for the film. & great that you have a new girl to help ya with discovering the place too. ☺
Kinda reminds me of this place called Dogpatch USA, a place in Arkansas I highly recommend you check out due to it's size. Check out Walter Arnold's video of it.
loved the movie big fish, shame that it's left to decay, they should have preserved one of the buildings and put it in a tim Burton museum, that would be cool, move over Madame tussauds, Tim is coming in lol, awesome stuff adam x
Thanks for joining me in my video adventures everyone
+adamthewoo Thanks for doing this!
thank you for sharing friend.
Adam do you do this full time? i would love to do this myself,, i always enjoy! i find it fascinating..
+adamthewoo u should be on travel channel!!! :) cause u travel around the states
+laura20022004 i agree this would be an awesome hour long show for the travel channel
It would have been cool if you included some screen grabs from the film just to show how these places fit in the movie.
+Doug Vandegrift I would have loved that too. I've seen it done on other vid's along this line and it is so cool to see the contrast.
+Aaron B ADAM HAS DONE THAT QUITE A LOT IN THE PAST.HE PROBABLY DOES NOT HAVE THE EDIT TIME RIGHT NOW..ONE THAT COMES TO MIND IS WHAT ABOUT BOB BUT I KNOW FOR SURE HE HAS DONE THAT WITH MANY OTHERS..
+Doug Vandegrift are you fukking mad?
+Joe Mamma I agree. Adam has included reference clips in the past but being on the road the way he is he may not have been able to do it for this particular video. +bipola telly if you would have read it, its obvious that it was a accident.
This is amazing. Big Fish is one Tim Burton movie that I still haven't seen. Just never had a desire to. But now after seeing this, I want to. Thanks, Adam!

After watching your documentary, I respect you even more. Thanks for being a great dude and making awesome videos!
Have never seen the movie Big Fish but plan to now. Much Thanks for visiting this area to show us what one does not expect to see--an island with lovely abandoned buildings !
it's lovely...probably the only Tim Burton film that makes me want to cry
I watched the movie Big Fish tonight. I had never seen it before. What a beautiful movie. Thank you Adam.
Adam the Woo - the man, the myth, the legend. Tom
+Decay is headed your way! DIHYW !

Just watched the video and watch the movie for the first time because of your channel what a great movie had to watch your video again love your channel and all the cool movie locations you have been to. Thanks
Loved this movie and I never get sick of seeing people explore the old set. Doesn't look like it was built to last.
So, they basically littered in a giant way, left all their shit there and thats ok with everybody? Wtf tim go clean up your fuckin mess! Lol
The people in the area and the owner of the property wanted it to be left to turn it into a tourist attraction and it still is but due to lack of visitors it had fallen to decay. Nothing really there anymore but the owner still maintains the property and you're still allowed to visit with permission.

This one really makes me pine for your old (non west coast) traveling adventure videos. Great stuff.
