It does help to think of it in context of eternity. Thanks.

God commanded Adam not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That is, it is our sin, original sin, that makes us see good and evil. We don't see the overall picture, so we wring our hands and decry evil, thinking, how can God allow it? He allows it because it's part of His overall plan. J. Warner Wallace is great, but he's overcomplicating things here. A good God does allow evil.

Exactly and a lot of it is his discipline. Some people are just garbage people and aren't worth the dirt they are created from. (where does all our food ultimately come from? That's right the ground)
YHWH is a realist he knows most humans will not turn from our sins and his wish is no one should perish forever but if we ignore him, whose fault is that?? And whose fault is the consequences of that decision. It ain't his so at whose feet does the problem lie.
      Look in the mirror

Taking this one step further, we as humans who have a general belief in God assume that God created the Universe for our playground because He loves us. This is an "anthropocentric" view, focusing on me, my needs and my expectations rather like the video mentions. That is NOT why God created the Universe, although we are certainly part of the "why". First and foremost, God created the Universe to display His glory in so many aspects which we can and cannot understand. It is His Universe created by His pleasure to show His glory.
So what is "His glory" besides a church word we repeat but don't often think about? The Glory of God is to be known for what He is and creation is the vehicle He chose to do so with per Romans 1. First, to Himself as The Master Craftsman, then to those within His creation to whom He gave sentience - the ability to see His Glory and proclaim His worthship. It was created to demonstrate the very love which unites the Trinity. It was created to show forth His Justice and, as a subset of justice, His love in Mercy shown to some. He loves His creation as the Master Craftsman, yet to demonstrate Justice and Mercy, evil had to enter in that Justice would have meaning and Justice had to be done in order for Mercy to be known. The key is to remember who defines those terms, and it's NOT and human but One who is "the Way, the Truth and the Life".
We can talk all day about whether or not God is just, has the power to stop all evil or if He really isn't God as Satan wishes it were. It really doesn't matter in the end because only He has the power to bring His entire will to fruition and as Daniel 4, written by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar,
"...all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing,
and he does according to his will among the host of heaven
    and among the inhabitants of the earth;
and none can stay his hand
or say to him, “What have you done?”
It sounds very harsh until you realize that He has decided to love you personally before you ever thought of it. That is enough for me. It was enough for Jesus Himself in the flesh, facing the ultimate "evil" in the Garden of Gethsemane: "Thy will, not Mine be done". Bow, and you will receive everything. Stand on your own and be alone - forever...

The truth God has not allowed evil to happen. Over and over and over again God has warned in the old and new testament that all evil will be punished "For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open." Luke 8:17

The Holy Spirit is not evil, and he loves mankind, but will not forgive them for their evil ways, he will not destroy what he created that is why he gave us God the Father that sets on the mercy seat for our sin offering and forgiveness. I know what you are going to say, Genesis 6:3 God bless love Michael Glory to Christ Jesus KING of heaven and earth

Isa 45:7 KJ2000 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create calamity: I the LORD do all these things.
Who set up the rules for life?
We reap to what we sow.
Sow good things YHWH will bless.
Sow bad things guess what happens, evil comes in its many forms.
Hmmm Job righteous man had trouble, hmm what did he say?
Job 23:9 KJ2000 On the left hand, where he does work, but I cannot behold him: he hides himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
Job 23:10 KJ2000 But he knows the way that I take: when he has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.
Job 23:11 KJ2000 My foot has held fast to his steps, his way have I kept, and not turned aside.
Testing is a purging process and we should give thanks for that time for it means he is working on and in us.

The "puzzle" of evil in a world that its creator declared "very good" when He had finished creating it can best be explained by the "fall" - Adam and Eve directly disobeying God's command and warning not to eat the forbidden fruit.
Evil is just the absence of Good, like cold is the absence of heat. But the inhabitants of unfallen worlds have watched what has happened on this planet since humans disobeyed God and they have seen the consequences of such disobedience. On the positive side, when those same intergalctic inhabitants have also seen God's mercy and love in paying the penalty for our transgressions in the person of His "son", and is thus able to promise a restoration of paradise, they have become fully convinced that God does love us and want the very best for us - in contradiction to what the serpent insinuated about God's real reason for the prohibition (God doesn't want you to eat of this fruit because He doesn't want you to rise to a higher state of existence and attain the authority to decide for yourself what is good and what is evil.) The Serpent/Satan/Lucifer deceived one-third of the angels of Heaven by his lies, so it is plausible that humans, having newly arrived on the scene, could likewise be deceived by the same arch-deceiver. All of the above statements can be fully supported by clear scriptures, but the space here is limited.

Here is a doctrine in the scriptures that has been so neglected that it doesn't even come up on a Google search. God's Hope. Has anyone ever sussed out that now abideth faith, hope, and love being fruits of the spirit is not only talking about the spirit as it inhabits us but God himself has constructed things in such a way as to exercise hope comprised within his character? We get a wisp of it in the definition of love where Love hopes all things. Then there is another glimpse of it where scripture says he who submitted us to this condemnation did that subjection in hope. This is information against Calvinist theology. What does God have to hope for? He's predestinated everything for everyone...? You want election? That election is in Christ. Go get into Christ. This is a huge doctrine when you try to consider why God allows evil. God did not tell people in the U.S. to murder what 70 million babies? You did that all on your own but God Hopes for each one of us to choose him. He did not make us for evil. So go find out what he did make us for!
