    I'm a carnal, organic anagram
Human flesh instead of written letters
    I rearrange my pathetic tissue
    I incise, I replace, I'm reformed
I eradicate the fake, pre-present me
Elevate me to a higher human form
    The characters I am
Made into a word complete then I'll be the new norm
    Self inflicted fractures
I replace my bones with bars
    Aluminum bleeding oxide
The drug of Gods into my pounding veins
My receiving eyes exchanged with fuses
    Blindness induced to prevent destruction
    Ceramic blades implanted
Past my ribs to save me from the dues of inhalation
I tear my worldly useless skin
Staples to pin it over my ears
    Non-receptive of ungodly sounds
I disable the audio generators of fear
Hexagonal bolts to fill my mouth
    Sharpened to deplete
    The creator of all violence
Without speech there will be no deceit
    Baptized in vitriolic acid
A final touch, a smoothing of features
    Completion of the greatest art
    To cast the godly creatures
    Humans, once astray, made divine
    Stripped of congenital flaws
    We're incandescent
Revelations in a world of darkened forms
    Disciples, come join with me
    To save a failed humanity
    Follow the God of cyanide
    Into the new eternity
    Behold a sacrificial erase
    A cleansing worshiping of pain
    The new millennium Christ
Here to redeem all from lies, lies

That's my all time favorite Meshuggah song. The groove makes me headbang like crazy! And the music video is fucking gold. This is why I love them.

First LOL. That video was uploaded to youtube in 2008 that actual album came out in 1998. That music vid probably came out around time of the album so that video is probably 20 years old. Seeing them live is one of the most intense things ever.

You finally did it! Haha. I’m sure you’ll enjoy Meshuggah to the EXTREME! Also, this song was released 20 years ago.

Watching you trying to figure out the rythm was hilarious! And at 2.06 you tried to headbang and gave up hahah... We get it it, it's not easy with Meshuggah

You are always in the mood for Meshuggah. Even if you think you are not, you just need to turn it on! When you know the songs it's so much fun. The earlier albums are a lot more groovier and easier to digest. Also the vocals are less extreme.
"Destroy Erase Improve" and "Chaosphere" is all you need...

I listened for Meshuggah for a whole year since I discovered them. First one was Demiurge, it's easy to get in, simple but very catchy(33 lol) rythm, than bleed. Than I really wanted to understand their music. I was trying to really listen to it remember the patterns and stuff but it didn't worked out. It was to chaotic for me(back then at least). Some time past listened their more popular tracks, strated to feel the grooves. Than something happened and I just started to only listen to them. For a whole day only one track, on the next day the next track and ect. In that period a lot of shit happened to me. Depression, break up, I didn't knew what to do, hating myself for my mistakes, stuff like that. But Meshuggah were always with me and this power, this complexety in its simplicity was giving me so much strength and energy that I easily overcome what was troubling me. Now I have listened to all their tracks and there's a lot of them. Easily my favourite band. Every morning I wake up for something like "rational gaze" or "corridor of chameleons". Dem grooves are tasty and my neck became thiccer lol. I wish I had discovered them sooner. Music like this is what makes you confident. Not too confident but you really know what to do on the next day...

From what I’ve seen and heard they are flawless live, which is amazing when you think about how technically difficult their music is. I’m jealous, because they are one of the bands I have to see before I die, but they never come close to where I live. I shouldn’t complain, because last year alone I saw Slayer, Behemoth, Lamb Of God, Metallica, Avenged 7fold,Gojira, and Tool. Even this year the Slayer, Lamb Of God, Behemoth,Anthrax, and Testament tour is coming close to my city. I’m not bragging, but I was lucky as a metal fan that they all toured close to me. Keep up the good work, your videos are fucking killer 🤘🏻

Woo! He did it! I suggest Rational Gaze or Do Not Look Down as your next Meshuggah song. It took me a while to get into these guys, but with every listen I could better comprehend the groove and insane rhythms they create. Now they're one of my all-time favorite bands!

That was neat, wasn’t it? Try out rational gaze or do not look down. Those were basically the songs that got me into Meshuggah, except bleed, demiurge and clockworks of course. ;)

If you listen to the hi-hat and snare, and tune out the rest of the sounds, you can usually count 3 or 4. Can't guaranty the ascent will be on 1 or directly on the beat (it may fall on an and beat). For me that is the best way to dissect whats going on. Give the song Pulling straws at random a shot.

Meshuggah are unreal! You should check out Sikth sometime... Not really like Meshuggau, but they're heavy and technical, plus they have two vocalists!

  • @kyleledermann2473

Bang your head to the cymbol. Let the guitar work flow around that. That is the key to understanding and I taking Meshuggah. Too confusing in first few listens when u focus on the guitar work.

  • @madsstavang

Meshuggah is from a different world. Also not something to listen to when going to sleep. For your next Meshuggah, do this classic from the 90s: Humiliative. Incredible song, and groovy as f.

You just listen to/follow the cymbal that is being ridden when listening to Meshuggah. After a lot of listens you eventually you start to memorize the riffs too. That album Chaoshpere, took me months of listening to fully appreciate, I didn't like it that much at first.

Ruben looks so confused about the rhythm around 4:14, lol. If you feel yourself getting lost with the rhythm you can usually ground yourself by listening for the cymbals laying down the basic 4:4 pulse.

rather all meshuggah songs are in 4/4.. very easy to headbang haha. Maybe you were confused because they are polyrhythmic, and you follow the guitars instead of the drums.

The best song of Meshuggah. After Chaosphere I see only boring songs (maybe except ObZen) with extremely low tuning which in my opinion is over-used. I think Chaosphere and especially Destroy Erase Improve are their best albums.
