oh! I completely forgot this was an official game mode in Operation Hydra, that must be why the code is in the game. See, reading the comments is a good idea.
I can't remember if it was source or 1.6, but there was a time where a more commonly bought gun would be more expensive, and less commonly bought ones would be way cheaper and it would update every week or so. It did not work and ruined matchmaking lol
@@Vacated204 It was source but that didnt work because weapons would get expensive if other people buy It, and It was for a week, but if you make that at the start of the match the ak is the usual 2700 and if you(only you) buy it to much then you need a lot of money could work
I feel like your complaint about more powerful weapons at the end could be addressed by making sure the reserve ammo of every weapon cannot be refilled
I feel like what could work is adding a win modifier. If your team wins, a random gun in the pile is lost. Or maybe the reverse could work, if your team loses, one of you gets a random gun back.
i would like to see a competitive match where the guns dont despawn when droped on the floor. i dont know if it would be possible, but i think it would be funny!
One correction: The auto-shotty was always broken af. I used it religiously in CS:GO and it made people so mad, because the effective range of this shotgun is the largest from all shotguns. Now that the peeker's advantage being laughably OP alongside the dynamic smoke, make this weapon just scary.
The game Due Process does something similar. Both teams have their own armory with a limited amount of weapons. The players have to share the given weapons and need to consider when to pick which one because there are fewer of the good ones and more of the bad ones. And once a gun is brought into a round, it is lost when the player dies and nobody picks it up.
Can't believe WarOwl finally tried Demolition game mode But seriously, I miss Demolition. The maps were fun and having to adjust to use a different gun each round was interesting.
I actually used to do this in deathmatch or in casual matches since I believe it helps train your adaptability. It makes you focus on each weapon's strengths and you start making strategies around them as opposed to just relying on your AK/M4 to do the heavy lifting. It gets you out of your comfort zone; you try things that you otherwise wouldn't and you start to learn more because of it.
Either as a variation of this or a completely unique gamemode, I'd like to see Competitive CS2 but you die at the end of every round, I.E you can't save and have to buy new guns, utility, and armor every round.
@@spearspearspear Not necessarily. Early few rounds would probably an smg/shotgun fest to build up an economy advantage, then using rifles when you have disposable income and being careful to not die and give away guns for the round.
I played an FPS that had something similar, you started with basic body armor and a pistol... then everything else had to be rebought each round. AWP would basically require an ACE the previous round, or winning 2 consecutive rounds. As long as you were doing at least .5 KD losing consecutive rounds paid more than winning... but each half was 8 rounds so if you wanted to wait to full buy you pretty much gave up 1/4 of the half to your opponents and if you lost you would need to give up another round to full buy. Game didn't let you drop weapons either so you had no dedicated awper or a dedicated entry fragger, because they would go broke.
Great start to 2024 with a new Owl video and sponsor! Nice! GZ Man! I will still hear you as the Stanley Parable narrator but modded to have American accent. Ever since I thought of that, I just can't get over it. But don't worry, it's fantastic.
simple way to fix the one team dominating because they keep their m4's is to not reset ammo upon a new round or something basically doubling up on the conserving your weapon part
This was a pretty interesting video, the whole concept made me think of Due Process, no actual economy but works on a complete set of guns, mags, and rest of equipment to use sparingly as to not run out of decent guns or utility, honestly a pretty fun game, sadly it's consistently dead player wise, but hey it still gets some updates, maybe it gets back up, eventually
I think one of the ways that would make the game fun would be to disable picking up waepons from the ground, once its down, it's down, drops could also be disabled so that the best player in the game does not always get a drop from players that haven't bought his op gun before, i think the only way you can play the same gun multiple rounds would only be available trough saving at the end of a round either by time or suvivng the explosions. That would, in my opinion, make the game mode less stale and way more entertaining this way
Next video idea: Dynamic Weapon Prices This mode was actually in CS:S but Valve removed it because it was unnecessary. But I can it will be create game mode, especially it will shake up the eco of the game. Inagine, buy a AWP that costs 1,000 and a DEagle that costs 7,500,😂

Either that or allowing the guns to be bought again after the half. That's how they did it in Operation Hydra and the way its done here means there is a tangible difference between starting CT or T side.
Console command in said video is leftover of "weapons expert" game mode as part of Operation Hydra and its base on competitive game with pips instead classic rank system
Very fun concept & IIRC this is how the game Due Process works, you have a limited set of weapons and equipment for your team to make last for X number of rounds!

this is like the game due process, it was in development since around 2013. and in that game you have a limited amount of weapons you can bring in to try and destroy a precedurally generated map every round, it also has the grabbing weapons mechanic like CS does.
What a cool sponsorship! Instead of promoting a physical product, Nvidia is using sponsorship to raise awareness about a cool feature their cards have and inform gamers about its benefits. Definitely a fan.
Just swinging by to commend you for you exceptional Doom Eternal OST remixes, which I've been binge listening over the past 3 and a half years (can't believe it's been that long).
Don't know if this is feasible or even possible but I think it would be interesting to see a similar take to this, You can no longer buy a weapon once you get a kill with it. You can buy the PP 19 Bizon or AWP as much as you want but once you get a kill with it that weapon is inaccessible to you. This means that having your whole team full buy to take on the enemy team with their full buy is only risky if you kill all of them, in which case, it's probably worth it.
Idea: CS2 but you lose all your money if you die. I think this would encourage slower gameplay, and might lead to similar situations with people using non meta weapons. The only way to build up money is to survive rounds.
What's your opinion of an 'armageddon' csgo / cs2 like in chess (or 9LX or Xiangqi)? --- Part1of2 The teams play only 1 side but there's a point bonus for the T's. - CF baseball where the batting side has a point bonus - CF chess but white starts with lower time - CF chess but black wins if the game is drawn but white starts more time 1 In competitive: (This doesn't have to be mandatory. It can be an alternative game mode.) Both teams have an auction where they bid the amount of points that they would give as a headstart to the other team. Whoever bids the most wins the auction and gets CT (or T if they want). The other side gets T and has the point bonus. If they bid the same amount, then they flip a coin. Eg Team A bids 3 points, and Team B bids 2 points. Team A wins the auction and picks CT. Team B plays T but has a 2 point start. As usual 1st team to 8 points, assuming it's best-of-15, wins. And if it's best-of-an even number, then draws are as usual. (Or you can give draw odds to the team that lost the auction. But if you're going to do this, then why not an odd number?) 2 In casual: There's no auction. It's a predetermined amount. Say T's get a 3 point headstart. I think this should compensate for CT's given free defuse kit every round and for lack of communication on T sides with common c4 drops (or actually there would be more communication on T sides because people wouldn't just stack CT sides). Plus it could now make the autosniper non-kickable because it no longer supposedly gives even more of an advantage to the CTs. (Debate only the conclusion not the assumption because I'll probably agree with your opinion of the assumption.) If you think CTs still have an advantage despite a 3 point deficit, then how about 4 points? 5? Any positive number is certainly better than the current state of casual where the CTs almost always dominate. 3 I think surely you'd agree this has to be the case in casual even if you disagree with mandating this in competitive or having this option in competitive. Casual is just too CT sided. Even in csgo retake mode there was a predetermined armageddon in that it was 4 CTs Vs 3 Ts. See? Why didn't they make it the same number of the players for each team just as in casual? Or at the very least if not point deficit, then casual should have a lower CT team limit. --- Part2of2 Or alternatively for comp: Still play both sides but you bid for whichever side you want to start with? idk. depends if you think there's a bigger advantage starting w/ a particular side.
This is why Arms Race (gun game) was a great casual mode. You had to get good at all the weapons to win, not just the M4A* and AK. Never underestimate the lead painting power of an XM1014. Just don't eat the paint chips.
Imagine Valve Adds a "Gamemodes" Tab somewhere next to casual or deathmatch tab where there is multiple gamemodes ex. Arms race, Demolition, Deatmatch, War Games, (this video), Flying Scoutsman- etc It makes CS2 more fun tbh
A variant of this could be only being able to buy guns once the whole game but weapons don’t despawn at the end of rounds so you can pick them up next round if you remember where they are. The things you can still buy being utility and armor and the bomb being able to respawn with the T’s. Or not, depending on how much chaos you want.
If you want people to use less meta weapons, economy adjustments mid-match are probably going to be the best way. The more people buy a gun, the more expensive they become, and vice versa for less bought weapons. This would create "rifle rounds" where all the weapons bought cost less than SMGs and situations like that, depending on the team. Also AWPs will probably be more common, but oh well :)
Make it so that each time you buy a weapon the cost goes up by 500, weapons still become invaluable but a team isn't just outright locked out of meta stuff for a bad round. i do like the additional tactics / economy involved in it, makes it as much a battle of strategy as it is a battle of reflexes, which is one of the things i've always loved about CS over over shooters.
If you want a variety of guns in the game you should do this again but with the additional rule that living players can't carry guns over to the next round. It ensures a variety because each team has a maximum of 5 uses per gun. Optionally you can ditch the economy by having everyone start with 16k but it's not necessary because players can still eco with pistols/cheap smgs to save for a round when they can buy a gun. It's basically my house rule for when I relax offline with bots. Buy a gun, toss it the next round and buy a gun I haven't bought yet to keep it interesting.
I really hate how underrated you are as a RUclipsr, you make such informative and entertaining content yet you only have 1.4 million subs, I am very much into video editing and your videos have so much love and care put into them yet you barely get the attention that you deserve... It's really sad and I genuinely hope you get the attention you deserve one day, keep it up
i really liked this mode when it was in the game for a bit. iirc there was also one where if you shot and didn't hit an enemy you yourself would lose health.
Here's an idea, everytime a player gets a kill, everyone's weapon loadout swaps with one another (This means pistols and primaries), and no not just with your team mates, even the enemy team
I thought the premise was going to be that each player could only enter the buy menu and purchase gear once per half and I was ready for an extremely strategic and deep prediction-based meta that would probably be kind of boring to watch
Yooo, this might have not worked but, a little tweak like that only one person, can buy one type of gun in the whole team, so that way you would need to casually play tactically would be insane!
Honestly, I want to see something like this again, but with all the "meta" weapons just disabled entirely. It would be really interesting to see what new meta evolves over the course of the game when those weapons aren't available....

Make it so that each time you buy a weapon the cost goes up by 500, weapons still become invaluable but a team isn't just outright locked out of meta stuff for a bad round.
i do like the additional tactics / economy involved in it, makes it as much a battle of strategy as it is a battle of reflexes, which is one of the things i've always loved about CS over over shooters.
i miss this gamemode
If you want a variety of guns in the game you should do this again but with the additional rule that living players can't carry guns over to the next round. It ensures a variety because each team has a maximum of 5 uses per gun. Optionally you can ditch the economy by having everyone start with 16k but it's not necessary because players can still eco with pistols/cheap smgs to save for a round when they can buy a gun. It's basically my house rule for when I relax offline with bots. Buy a gun, toss it the next round and buy a gun I haven't bought yet to keep it interesting.
Gabe's latest creation, the HNFV50 New Year's event, is stealing the spotlight!
I really hate how underrated you are as a RUclipsr, you make such informative and entertaining content yet you only have 1.4 million subs, I am very much into video editing and your videos have so much love and care put into them yet you barely get the attention that you deserve... It's really sad and I genuinely hope you get the attention you deserve one day, keep it up
8:13 That one line comparison between Valorant and CS. Well Said
"And because I lost, the match wasn't canon". Seems legit.
I believe in the Galil supremacy.
Glad to see your motivation issues are cured forever.
i really liked this mode when it was in the game for a bit. iirc there was also one where if you shot and didn't hit an enemy you yourself would lose health.
The command is actually experienced in casual warmup too, you can only buy weapons 3 times.
Maybe only knives and grenades whole match it would be awesome to see
This made people started to think some weapon are the best weapon in the mode
Here's an idea, everytime a player gets a kill, everyone's weapon loadout swaps with one another (This means pistols and primaries), and no not just with your team mates, even the enemy team
I thought the premise was going to be that each player could only enter the buy menu and purchase gear once per half and I was ready for an extremely strategic and deep prediction-based meta that would probably be kind of boring to watch
Warmed up with you today! Keep killin it.
when you die, you turn into a slow-moving zombie that can only use melee, not even bomb plants or defusal
Interstate '76 ost!! I love your videos.
“Because I lost the match, it wasn’t canon” lmao
This setting PLUS no weapon carry over would be really interesting, IF that could even be done
