I have been celebrating the Traditional Latin Mass since my ordination. The faithful who assist at Holy Mass in my home chapel all learn to use traditional missals. They know the unchangeable parts of the Mass in Latin and by heart. They observe the chapel dress code. Women wear veils and dresses. The men come to Mass in appropriate attire. They willingly do these thing in order to maintain the Catholic Faith. There is no coercion. Many new faces are showing up and undergoing the same formation. The faithful are not stupid. They see that things have gone off the rails in the "new" church.
Oh yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you! How I wish we had a Traditional priest in my town! To be a typical Catholic is to be in exile in your native land.
I am 58 and born in summer of 65’. Went to Catholic Parochial school in the 70’s and changes already happened. I was fortunate to study under the Baltimore Catechism and taught by IHM NUNS. They are who taught me my faith. However, I feel cheated. I’ve NEVER had an opportunity to attend a TLM and if I didn’t find Utubers who showed me the TLM exists, I would Never understand what has happened to my church. I feel cheated. 😭🙏
@@briandelaney9710 the era in the Orthodox faith remains as it always has for 2,000 years. Women cover their heads, men uncover theirs in church. Women wear no pants or jeans in church, but modest skirts or dresses, men wear no jeans in church but wear nice clothes.

The fact that we are not allowed to have "this conversation" is in itself, a cause of divisiveness. In an age of inclusion, dialogue, ecumenism, going to the peripheries etc etc, the exclusion of trad Catholics from the synodal process is very telling.
In the US, I lived through the mess. The Church we had in 1964 vs what we had in 1970. 6 years, there arose a totally new church, and with it in the same 6 years a mass abandonment of the faithful.

Wow Robert! Yes…the sacred leads to contemplation! I had to attend a First Communion last Sunday and did not recognize the church as my own Holy Catholic Church! I was sick at the irreverence….it was hard to put into words but now you have…thank you!
I'm all for Trad because there has been no tampering with words, prayers and the Liturgy in general. God bless...Yes, contemplation - not clown masses filled with "I" messages.
I have said this before and I will say it again. there is great beauty in the physical structure of older and more traditional churches .And as an artist I long to see that expression of reverence for God. And yet I will never forget sitting in an adoration chapel that was stripped of art or any highly decorated sacred objects. The alter cloth was a simple pure white pressed linen . And the monstrance was a plain round gold frame ,with glass to view the Holy Eucharist Host inside. Two simple candles light, one on each side. The walls were white except for stained glass windows on the right . I can’t even remember what the images on these windows were, because I was focused on the monstrance. There was a comforting warmth and welcoming silence. . . and an indescribable peace. It would be a great shame to say , the glory of God was not present in that little room. My eyes were fixed on Jesus present on that alter.
We are thinking of moving soon. Problem is I have a lovely priest who wears the long black gowns/communion on the tongue is fine/incense is used/lots of benediction etc and because of this priest so many people I notice now copy his ways/no talking in the church/attendance full packed out masses. I am so happy,he has only been at this parish under a year. What a revival we are having!! I am therefore terrified of moving to a new parish. Not sure what to do.😮
The nerve of that one priest to complain that his generations liberalizing efforts are being rolled back and then it says he helped with ushering in sex education in Catholic schools. You had Mexican teachers lose their jobs over the issue in the 1920s and onwards. These Mexican ladies sacrificed their jobs and their incomes to keep true to the faith… THEY knew fully well what the ulterior motives of sex education was. They trusted the Bolsheviks meant what they said when they had it introduced in the East. And then you have these progressive Catholics cheerily bringing that type of “education” to the schools in the West. Foolishness
I’m in the US and I would say it is not the fault of the faithful for the abandonment of parishes it’s the Greed Within the heirarchy and the Secret China deal.
Very good Robert. Im old enough to have experienced the TLM and now try to attend when possible. Unfortunately there isn't one that near me but i travel when i can.
Traditional devotion may not be the same as faith, but it is certainly the most honest indicator of it. That is why the felt-banner frou-frou hierarchy is upset about it.
Robert, 40 out of 60 parishes in Baltimore, MD, are closing. The diocese declared bankruptcy because of all the sexual abuse settlements. So many of the faithful are feeling betrayed by the Church. Maybe you could cover this sad development?
But they are choosing what God endowed to us, gradually formed over time for our maturation into His Church. God has a certain way for us to worship Him. They are finding God’s way and not the way of the world. No matter what wayward ideology that has been pushed at us for70 odd years by the lost or faithless from the top, is not what we are accepting in the end, we are seeking the way of God. Hallelujah ! Christ is risen and I, you, are His by ransoming of our souls through His crucified body and blood, back to the Father. Hallelujah!
True Christianity belongs more to eternity than to any era. Some of what we mean when we say “tradition” or “old ways” properly belongs to the past, present, and future; it’s the novelties of modernism which are tied to specific times and will pass away.
It is so important to focus on the Blessed Sacrament - not the priest or Eucharistic minister - they are only God's instruments. Do not put a human being above God - even though one of them might be a priest - this is where it is easy to innocently make an error of judgement. We are all unworthy to receive the Body of Jesus - priests - everyone - all unworthy. Fortunately God is bigger than we are, is generous and ever ready to meet us on our level. We only need to have a proper focus at the special time - Jesus. Do not be sidetracked into not receiving Our Lord under what you perceive to be 'the wrong pair of hands' - it is not a good direction to follow

As western Church seems to be dying to some, churches of other religions are opening up. As Catholic churches are becoming more closed, my Catholic friend takes me to Hindu temples and other places of religions.
So what is this “immense shift” ? In what does it consist ? That has not been explained. What one feels, has absolutely nothing to do with what is true & right. The US habit of trusting in feelings as an indicator of truth, is stupid beyond words. I blame Luther for that trash. Feelings are worthless as a guide to truth; Christ did not feel happy when He was doing the Father’s will by dying on the Cross for our salvation.
I think people clutch on to the past as a security blanket. There's nothing wrong with tradition but you can't blindly cling to things just because they were there in the past, and you have to be willing and able to embrace the future too. It is coming whether any of us likes it or not.
