I'm stealing that night sky idea for the cloak/magic/wooshy-bit on the Shadweaver. That looks amazing!
I have more luck with Warpcoven focusing primarily on objective play and killing as a secondary concern.
Also, if you're doing Sorcerous Ritual, you gotta have the Appendage on one of your sorcerers. Makes that OP so much easier.
Finally, some good bat reps to grill to

You guys really put the kill into Kill Team, great match up! I wanted to press that like button a second time when I got to the part about goats. I'm not too sold on the shadow portal on TP1, I think the smoke might have more use (take some shots and then smoke to prevent return fire).

Great batrep! Just care about shodow passage action..you can do it only if you teleport in shadow and without any enemy line of sight :)

I have given all my warriors scythe so I know what they are. One of them doesn't have a scythe option as default but I just molded slightly and glued it on and it looks great

came for the mandrake paint job
i kitbashed one of my warriors, so all 4 would have sickle blades. although i did toy with the idea of using hair colour, gold for leader, silver for specialists and plain colour for warriors
also did you forget that the warpcoven has AP1 on all thier guns? you were rolling 3 defence dice for the shooting attacks

Edit : I thought if you are playing Nemesis claw, when the diergmaw would interrupt you , use 1 cp for Vox scream and then he can’t. This won’t work sadly
You actually can’t, as in that instance the Dirgemaw is the only elligible operative to be activated and Vox Scream can’t stop the only elligible operative to be activated from activating

I don't think you could do that since you have already used the teleport with another guy. Sure, the portal guy has an ability that if you go through the portal it doesn't count for that restriction, but the way I read it, the initial move that creates the portal still falls under the restriction. The portal token is only placed _after_ you have already finished the move, and you have to finish the move within range of a portal for the restriction to not count - that portal doesn't yet exist at a time when the restriction is checked.
I think this is correct. You perform a free portal action, but it still counts against the limit of one per turn because it's not using the portal for the action. To tele two guys TP1 you would need to use the shadow portal for the second guy.

I think the play was activating the sorcerer first in TP3 rather than shooting with the warrior. You were in position to warpflame pistol the leader then doombolt (or. Fluxblast--I didn't quite catch what disciplines you were running on the sorcerers), heal, or charge+fight the dirgemaw (I think Vic was out of CP sobhe couldn't do tye fight first ploy) or just run away and score vantage. But regardless, the warrior was going to be around to activate later but the leader was going to go down unactivated like he ended up doing)
That was a good match!
Super cool battle reports, I would just add a bit more competitiveness to the games to learn top moves or plays.
Respectfully, I gotta disagree with Vic on the whole "teams should have static loadouts" idea. TL:DR: Static loadouts create non-flexible, static matchups.
Sure, it makes assembly and painting a breeze, but in terms of play, it's so hard to adjust to all the different "genres" of opposing teams whenever all your equipment, ploys, and tricks are all telegraphed, because we know Mandrakes players are going to do the same things every game. Having options allows players to feel more comfortable going into potentially less favorable matchups, and even more so into more favorable matchups, and it prevents being discouraged at the beginning of the game when your static loadout just doesn't have an answer to your opponent's favorite tricks. I get wanting it for simplicity's sake, but it makes certain matchups horribly discouraging.
Loved the video, easily the best KT BR content on RUclips! I just love how much most teams are able to flex based on the situation.
I hear what you're saying, and it makes sense! What I really mean is that I feel like Kill Teams should be able to be made competitively with one box. I don't like an extra financial barrier to entry for those trying to get into the game.
@@MountainsideTabletop I agree with that part, but GW is gonna be GW, they'll never go for giving us spare models to make all the options for teams that have more specialists or loadout options than you are allowed to bring in one game. They want to have strictly enough bodies in a box to make a legal team with a single set of options and that's it... sadly.

Mandrakes looks awesome...but the Dirgemaw is a different model then the one you showed on the turntable, the Dirgemaw is the guy with the hair in front of his face, and the open, screaming mounth :)

Technically you start with 3CP, and then gain one more at the beginning of TP1. Unless you've spent one before the start of TP1, you will start with 4.

What am I missing? How did the Icon Bearer die @15:13? The Shadeweaver rolled a crit & two hits. The Icon Bearer rolled a crit & two saves for defense.

Oh, that’s right. The backwards math soulstrike shenanigans. I don’t know why GW uses these mental gymnastics mechanics. Just say their saves are 4+ instead of 3+ and be done with it. So annoying.
