So many good ideas! We love to include a small flashlight with extra batteries since many places may not have electricity. Also, I also used to pack tennis balls but heard they quickly lose their bounce, so now we include a deflated soccer ball and pump with each older boy's box we pack. We have heard the soccer ball can impact an entire village! Large rubber bands are a must to keep the boxes closed! Lol!
Great boxes! Just a suggestion but If you remove the packaging you could fit more in, also the countries the boxes to go don't have garbage collections .I
*THANK-YOU SO SO MUCH!!* This is such a helpful suggestion that didn't even cross my mind. I will dispose/recycle whatever packaging I can because I would not want to leave them with it and I don't want to take up any valuable space where something else can fit in :)
Hi,my kids receive a boxe just now, they suppossedly receive d boxes march dis year but due to pandemic, they postponed, but happilg today, they finally receive, they were so happy, they thankful to d kind person like you and to God first 😊 Stay Healthy and God Bless your Whole Family 😊😊
Thank-you so much for that tip. I honestly never even thought of that. I will definitely be taking off any useless packaging so that more stuff can fit that are of use. Also thanks for checking out my video :)
I love you box if they look so cool I love doing 10 to 14 year old boxes I always puts stuffed animals in mind I know most people don't cut they think the kids are too old but I do is because I believe it important to have a stuff animal because when you hug a stuffed animal it make you feel better love your boxes if you could maybe consider putting a stuffed animal in but that's my opinion stuffed animals are cool even if they're are little ones God bless you 😇 have a good day and remember God loves you
I do the same thing. Someone who received a box as a child told me to always include one (that and stickers), even for the big kids for exactly why you said. I also think if a 10 year old gets the box, he or she is at the age to still appreciate it.
@@lifetodamax thanks I love stuffed animals and school supplies they are my favorite thing to get bouncy Ball two Operation Christmas child is the best it so cool not only do you get to help a child in need we also get to spread the love of Jesus Christ it's is all just awesome I love it more than anyting else I hope you have a great day and remember God loves you and may God bless you ☺️
Great ideas. I needed more for my boxes and I love the water bottle with washcloth inside. And other small things I had not thought of. Thank you for making this video. Very helpful getting my ole brain cranked up!
Great items. I love watching videos to get ideas. I unwrap everything I can (it seemed weird the first year I did that but you can get so much more in the box and many countries don't have the ability to get rid of waste like we do). I too put items inside of things to get more in. Love that these are for older kids as many of them are forgotten.
Those are great boxes for the big kids! We just had our packing party at my church and we try to focus on the 10-14 age range because we were told that is the age group Operation Christmas Child receives the fewest boxes of, particularly boys. We also try to include some tools for the boys and sewing kits and fabric for the girls to encourage some vocational skills.
@@lindadietz1184 I really want to do fishing kits next year. What do you put in yours? Line, hooks, bobbers? I love your idea of using old medicine bottles. I usually throw in some clothespins, but clothes line!? Genius!
Some little boy or girl will love their gift. I like the girls shorts & top (very cute), jewelry & shades. Tasteful Christmas gift ideas! :) Thank you!!
A tip I saw on Pinterest was to take any clothes you're sending and put them in the water bottle to save space you can also put small stuffed animals in the water bottle too . . . Also tip for the boys box to include some tools, I think they would appreciate that
I'm always iffy about what to pack because I know that sometimes the go to colder climates. Do yoo think I could write on the box preferably where it should be shipped to????
Even hot countries have cold times of the year. You could include gloves which could be used for cold weather or as football gloves or pot holders. Include a T shirt which could be for warm weather or as a layer for cooler days. The kids will be happy whatever you pack. Just pray and God will get it to the right child. It's not possible to specify a destination as OCC have to decide that themselves. Bless you for wanting to pack a box. I'm sure it will be awesome!
Sanitary products are great for teenage girls! Sometimes these boxes are sent to countries where periods are still taboo and so girls have to miss school because they don't have appropriate protection. Reusable sanitary towels would be best but I appreciate that they are much more expensive but even just a pack of pads would save a girl from missing a week's schooling. X
After preparing this year's boxes, I'm starting research for next year's boxes & looking into what to use for preteens. Try Amazon or Wish for reusable sanitary pads; there are some packaged with 5-8 pads.
Suggestion: for the girls you should include some training bras/ bras because they are growing girls! Also you could include under wear for both genders and as well for the girls some reusable pads, you should make a special bag to keep all those things inside
@@ameliajane8226 Aw.. there are always other ways to help out with this, so not to worry! They have many processing centers that need volunteers to go through the boxes to make sure they are just right before sending them off to the various countries. I helped out one year with this and it was such a cool experience. There are different jobs in the warehouse. What I did was check the boxes to make sure they were well-rounded including basics: hygiene, school supplies & a toy. If there is not one in your area you can always say a prayer about this mission :)
Tips: Word search not good since they very well may not speak English. Box not full.... my boxes require multiple rubberbands to stay closed. if you shake it and hear sounds, theres more room. Need pencil sharpener if sending pencils. And yes remove all packaging.
I have a ten year old niece and what I got her for Xmas is I got her a wonder woman lunchbox and I filled it with lip balm a cute 🦉 that has hand cream in it nail polish gold and nude hair elastics a little mirror things like that also I got her a unicorn 🦄 shower gel bottle and a bath foam bottle that smells so nice. I like your ideas there so cute and different

Amazing how many items can fit in the boxes. I'm shopping right now for this Christmas collection!

I would not pack any winter items, boxes could go to central america, where there is no use for that.
God knows where it will go. I get giddy as I pack the boxes praying that God knows what child will be delighted with what is in the box!
Nice things. I have thought about putting in a word search but wondered if they would speak English.
For teen girls would it be wrong to include sanitary items I'm there?

What size underwear and shirt for the girl did you bought?
