I wonder how many lives Tim has saved from all the safety advice he has gave out? He sure has earned a lot of good karma! 🦅🇺🇸🦅
Thanks Tim you should be paid by the governing bodies to do information video's of there rule books. Very good explanation thank you.
You're the best Tim thanks for sharing with us man that is some of the awesome parks that always come from you
That wreck was Adam Flamholc. Used to race with/against him years ago in Sweden in the then 'street race' class 'Super pro-street'.
Thanks for another informative video Tim.
Anything safety is a good thing. Sadly it seems to take an injured driver to bring about changes.
This is a great idea for ANY door car, so are the side panels in the door X
Good info .. Thank you Tim
Smart. Thanks for the clarification. ✌🙂
Beautiful graphics on that hoodscoop of that 69 Camaro Prostocker

167th 👍's up Tim thanks for taking the time for us all
I'm all for safety thanks for the video
✝️🇺🇸👍god bless all stay safe out there
I’ve always wondered why not just have/run arm restraints...? I understand switches and levers that’ll become out of reach but move them within reach?
Makes sense, but I bet the drivers hate them.
What we use in Sprint cars and was wondering why not arm restraints? It limits the reach and you do have pretty good range of motion but maybe not enough for these cars. Maybe Tim can chime in on arm restraints.
Cleetus McFarland uses them in Leroy that's a 7-second car with no roof
@@trevorwhamond3115 open cockpit cars have to run arm restraints.
c103110a hard time hate a safety item that’ll save your arms from becoming jello.
Hay Tim, We run a door slammer here in Australia (similar to your promod) and our driver always wears arm restraints which fit just under the elbow and clips into the harness.
It appears to me the driver in that first roll over didn't have these. Wouldn't this restraint negate the requirement for an extra roof panel and aren't arm restraints a requirement in the states.
What about the fastener sticking up from the tab. Will it get ground off. How brittle is the carbon panels. Will they flex with impacts to them or just shatter or have the fasteners ripped out.
Makes sense
Was the guy who’s arm was hanging out the top of the car ok?
what would your stance be on a full chassis steel bodied car? would you still put these in?
Wasn’t that crash like 6 years ago? If so, why did it take so long to implement this rule?
If the car is flipping violently like the crash that caused this change that carbon panel is coming off just like the rest of the body did
Why cant a hockey puck be utilized well that what we called them , We ran those on our stunt bikes so when we would crash they slid on those and ground those down instead of the engine case. I use a hybrid plastic that's hard as steel but light as hell in my shop on wear pads. Those used on the roof pucks might be the ticket and they are light.
The former Tim Wallace Sr. Car !!!!!
Kevlar is much more wear resistant than carbon fiber.
That was steves wreck wasnt it? Couldnt tell but it looked like the origional shadow car
Brandon A negative that was not Steve Jackson
The original shadow was a notchback foxbody and Stevie had that bad airborne wreck in that car on drag radials at a Donald long race
@@bigaproduxions117x6 👍👍 i was catching some gnarly phone screen glare in the truck when i watched earlier. Couldnt see much of nothin
Why can’t you weld a tab halfway down the tube and then use a stand-off to attach the panel?
snail5341 from the video you can see that there are standoffs, the panel would have to be formed specifically for your chassis if there were not standoffs, you couldn't just use a flat sheet of carbon. If I was building a car I would just put the carbon panel on the inside of the cage, that would get the tabs even further away and your arms couldn't get caught on the tube
Yea, if it is a new build, it is always good to it right. Later.
Is it required to be carbon fiber or could it be aluminum?
Well if aluminum were to shear it could cut the driver or make extraction difficult
@@larrygreen8092 interiors have been made fr inom aluminum for ages and that is a load of BS.
No I have one that is made like that I'm just saying the carbon is safe than aluminum
I'm never said you could I'm just saying it may be safer
So say car flips over it grinds into the tubes is that car now junk or can it be fixed?
They are fixable a lot of the time.
Wouldn't a ground pipe ruin the integrity of the pipe? How can that be fixed?
@@southjerseysound7340 Jack ass
@@JJ-ub4ih go fuck yourself, it's not rocket science to cut the damage out and replace the damage with new.
@@southjerseysound7340 LMFAO got em
If you're coming here to be current and safe relative to the rules, something is wrong Tim! Lol
Not good enough. Weld a 1/4 panel of steel between the panels.
geez looks so flimsy. 5mm thick plate for speedway.
