      Hi Jan!
Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment!
The GT-100 has great sounds, and I'm quite happy with the sound in this video!
Nice, I'm glad to hear that! Get in touch if you need further help, or have questions!
The GT-1 is indeed a little gem, and setting it up in an alternative stompbox mode is just like the Manual Mode here on the GT-100!
      You're welcome!
      Cheers, Jan! :-)

Nice job! I also have the GT100 and love it. I am using the built in amps and use it in manual mode with various stomp boxes. Currently I use the amp models boost for solos, but it cleans up the signal a bit during solos . Do you use a clean overdrive as your boost pedal?

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Jason!
Thanks for your kind comment and for watching my video! :-)
Yeah, the GT-100 is indeed a great sounding unit - I really like mine too!
I'm using the built on amps from the GT-100 too, and often in Manual Mode as well!
When you say "with various stompboxes" do you then mean external stompboxes, or just that you've assigned the GT-100's footswitches to various stompboxes/effects from the GT-100? :-)
Okay, so you're using the Preamp Solo feature, am I right?
When I'm in Manual Mode I always use the OD SOLO feature, whenever I have an OD/DS stomp activated. That works very well for me! I especially like the T-Scream overdrive, and when I assign the OD SOLO feature, then I have a really nice solo tone!
The Preamp Solo feature can be great as well, but it only really works well, when the preamp is already overdriven..
So I always use the T-Scream overdrive, and then assign the OD SOLO feature to one of the footswitches.
Let me know if you have further questions!
      Cheers! :-)

    • @jasonmaltz7040
      @jasonmaltz7040 6 лет назад +1

GuitarNTabs yes, I use the internal stomp boxes from the GT100, and then use 2 of the on board Fender Deluxe amps in preamp A&B. I then use the built in amp solo boost which cleans up the signal too much. I am going to try your setup with the OD solo boost and see how that works. Thanks for the reply!

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  6 лет назад

Sounds like a good setup, Jason!
The Dual Amp feature is great, and it can really fatten up the sound and make it more punchy!
I do that on some patches as well!
Yeah, try the OD Solo feature, it's really great!
I've been really happy with it!
Let me know what happens, Jason!
      Cheers! :-)

Does the compressor take up an effects block or is separate? I’m thinking of getting the GT-1000, can you use two different modulation effects at the same, like. Chorus and tremolo? Thanks man, I’m enjoying your videos and subbed! I’m coming from a Tonelab LE and have dozens of stomp boxes, but I like mostly clean tones and vibey modulation sounds. My Tonelab is getting worn out. My main sound is compression with a little chorus, ala Johnny Marr, and I like octave and pitch shift for a strange degredated type of sound. Also a good reverse delay is essential. Cheers.

      Hey there, Shannon Simmons 😊
Thanks for your comment and question, I greatly appreciate it!
In the GT-100 there's a separate COMP (Compressor) block, within the Signal Chain. So the Compressor isn't mixed with other effects, like the effects block FX1 and FX2...
Actually, I'm not that familiar with the GT-1000.. but, I'm sure the Owner's Manual can tell you.. You can find that one on Boss' webpage or by searching "Boss GT-1000 Owner's Manual" in Google. But I'm thinking, why wouldn't you be able to.. The GT-1000 is the newest model, so they should've updated those features, hehe.
Thank you, I really appreciate your kind words! And thanks for the sub - it means a lot!
That sounds like a great palette of sounds, and I'm almost sure the GT-1000 will do that! The GT-100 will as well!
I've heard good things about the Tonelab boards, and helped a friend learn how to use his, at one point!
Mhmh, Johnny Marr, that's some great stuff, I really dig some of his tunes - and, he uses a GT-100 as well! Amazing!
      Cheers, man!

    Those are some great sounds.
Do you rehearse/gig with the gt-100? If so, I was curious about your amplification setup. (Regular amps, frfr, straight to PA?. Also the gt-100 system settings used. Eg: input, output type, eq)

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  5 лет назад

      Hello there, echelecopao 😊
Thank you for your comment, kind words and question - it's much appreciated!
Yes, I do rehearse and gig with the GT-100. I've always been a Boss multi effects user, and before the GT-100 I used a GT-10.
      Excellent gear, both units!
I mainly use the GT-100 direct to PA - using stage monitor wedges, when playing live - though, in-ears will be the next upgrade.
I've had good results doing that, and the sound is superb and consistent.
At home I use a nice pair of studio monitors, and run the unit through that, or via USB to my laptop.
Well, the Output Select on the GT-100 is set to Line/Phones - which enables the onboard preamps and cabinets on the GT-100.
Some of my favorite preamp models are the Clean Twin, JC-120, MS1959I, Tweed and Dlx Crunch. I get them dialed in properly, making sure all levels are consistent, using a dB-meter to monitor the levels. It works very well, and I have minimal to none volume issues, when going on stage 😊
Besides setting the Output Select, I've performed the Input Calibration. I don't know if you're familiar with it?
      Link here - ruclips.net/video/wBq_5hvqar0/видео.html
It will allow you to adjust the Input Level, coming from your guitar, and its pickups, running into the GT-100 - making sure you won't send too hot of a signal, causing the signal to clip/distort. I would highly recommend performing that step.
Let me know what you think, and if you have further questions, then please let me know.
      Have a great day
      Cheers.

@@GuitarNTabs Thanks for your detailed answer bro.
I've also been using Boss multi-effects for quite some time (used an ME-50 for a long time, and made the jump to the GT-100 a few months ago. A massive improvement in sound quality btw). I must say that it took a little bit of time to get the best sounds out of the GT-100, especially when amplifying.
I struggled a bit at the beginning with the output mode, and also a little bit with the input level. I agree, setting the input level is such an important step that I don't know why it isn't emphasized more in the manual. I actually came across that video you linked a few months back and I was able to find the right level for a couple of guitars that I use.
During the first months I also had to tinker a lot with the volumes in many different patches, until I ended up using the unit in stompbox/manual mode (which helps a lot in not having to worry that much about volume difference between patches), so these days I play most of my band songs using a single patch. At the beginning I didn't see the big benefit of using manual mode, but now I love it. It's so simple and intuitive.
On the output sound, after a lot of trial and error I found that I was getting the best results using the Line output mode, going to the effects return of a couple of different amps that I use.
More recently though I tried plugin directly to a Headrush frfr powered speaker, and I was simply blown away by how good it sounds. I feel like it finally made my GT-100 sound in all of its glory.
Anyway, thanks for the useful info. Cheers my fellow Boss multi-effects dude.

      @@echelecopao - Hey there!
You're very welcome, it's a pleasure being able to help out 😊
Boss products are great, and they will last you a lifetime, no doubt!
Sure, I can imagine - the GT-100 carry a lot of great sounds, effects and preamps/cabients.
Well, that's true, it can be a little overwhelming, trying to get the most out of the GT-100, but it's all in the set-up, and knowing how you want to use the unit. There are a couple of basic set-up steps I tell people to perform, before even thinking of hitting a note, or playing a patch.. It's that important!
Exactly, calibrating the input is important! I can't stress that enough... No guitar is the same, no pickups, etc.
It's a shame that the Owner's Manual doesn't cover things like this.. It's the player's part to work that out, or never do...
There are so many useful things to update that Manual with...
Great, I'm glad you found the video, and the adjustments worked for you 😊
True, the volume is all over the place, for all the factory presets.. I always tell people to let them go, and build their own.
That wat it's easier to control levels, effects, etc.
But yeah, Manual Mode is great, and it keep things in one place, with the possibility of changing and editing.
Sometimes less really is more.. hehe. It's great that you've got it all sorted out!
That's correct, a good FRFR speaker is the best option for a multi effect like the GT-100!
I've done the same thing, with a similar unit, etc.
No problem, I'm always ready to help out, so feel free to come back!
Cheers, mate! All the best, and keep rocking! 🔥🎸

Hello friend, excellent your channel. You know that I have a problem that I do not know how to solve, my pedalboard generates a lot of noise, especially when I use the everdrive, I connect it to an amplifier and I have even tried the method of the four cables and it does not work. Even when I connect it to the computer it sounds too much. I have been told something about the cable to the ground but every video that I see, nobody uses it and it does not sound like it is my case. Any suggestions for this ?.

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  5 лет назад +1

      Hey there, Sergio!
Thanks for getting in touch, I'm sure we can solve this problem!
First of all, I would start by performing the Input Calibration - Link here: ruclips.net/video/wBq_5hvqar0/видео.html
Performing this step will ensure that the signal your guitar, and its pickups, are sending isn't too hot; causing the GT-100 to digitally distort.. We don't want that. So, start by performing this step.
Next, make sure you have selected the proper Output Select, matching the equipment that you're using with the GT-100.
Also, how are you using the GT-100? With your own amplifier or?
Let me know, and I'm sure we can solve this!
      Cheers.

@@GuitarNTabs Hey friend! I did the calibration as the first step you suggest. I also selected the output from the footswitch to the amplifier. I send you some photos to see how everything is connected. I also include the audio so you know what the problem is, actually what interests me is to go from a clean sound with a certain volume to an overdrive without changing much.

      @@ESP95 - Hey there!
Sorry for the late reply, but your message was moved to my "Spam-filter" here on RUclips...
Thanks for the photos, and even more thanks for the video, that did the trick!
When you touch the GT-100, the noise goes away - knowing that tells me that it might have something to do with your guitar, and its pickups... Are you using a Stratocaster or Telecaster guitar, perhaps? Especially Single Coil pickups, like on Strats and Teles, would generate this type of hum/noise. On top of that, having a lot of gain, overdrive or distortion will just make things worse... Also, the amount of gain from your Marshall amp will affect things.. One thing to consider, would be to figure out of you want to use the overdrive/distortion from your amp, or simply use the amp's clean channel, and have the overdrive/distortion coming from the GT-100's OD/DS effect block.
Let me know what you think - I'll await your reply!
      Best regards & Cheers.
