I've slapped someone having a psychotic break, mental breakdown (issues plus alcohol is a terrible cocktail). Not in anger, just trying to get them to A. Sober up fast and B. TLDR: Was banned from ever hitting my sister until my dad saw what she was doing. Gave me permission to do one open handed slap. I made it count.
Ok, so feel I must preface this by saying I do not advocate violence, especially towards women and girls. However this was an extraordinary circumstance. This was also the early 90's so thing were a little different back then.
For years my sister tormented me knowing full well I couldn't retaliate and if I tried to get my parents involved she'd lie and nothing would happen.
When I was 16 and she was 18 my dad finally caught her in the act. One of her boyfriends was messing with me. Shoving me and taunting me. One of those just because he can situations. My dad happened to be watching, he came home early and we didn't know. So he watched me getting shoved around and rooted for me when I snapped at the boyfriend and shoved back.
But then my sister shoved herself between me and the boyfriend. Basically taunting and hitting me and threatening to tell if I hit her. Or in other words not letting me defend myself against her boyfriend.
After it was over my dad asked me if that's what she does when the parents aren't looking and how often that she does it. Yes, and about every other day.
So dad tells me that the next time she pulls something like that I have permission to slap her. It had to be opened handed and only once so make it count. Then dad went over to my sister and told her that she needs to quit and if she doesn't there will be consequences.
About a week later the parents were gone so my sister invited over a friend. I had to be up really early the next morning so my sister and her friend did everything they could to keep me awake. Loud music, hollering like idiots, slamming a pool cue into my bedroom floor. I kept telling her to knock it off and at one point I shut off the power to the house. She just doubled down and kept it up.
At around 3:00 am I shut the power off again. Sister and her friend came down to turn the power back on. I wouldn't let them. So my sister unloads on me calling me every dirty name in the book, hitting and trying to shove me away from the power box. The thing that finally made me snap was when she started yelling that I was a F-----g idiot!
So I warned her to back off. She began taunting me with threats of calling the cops if I did anything to her. Then doubled down with the idiot thing. After the 3rd o r 4th warning I let her have it. Open handed across the face, she went down like a sack of potatoes obviously knocked goofy and her friend ran off.
I thought "Oh crap!" and went up to the neighbors figuring the cops would show up. Turns out she did call the cops but because I was a minor and she was of age and the fact that I left they wouldn't come out. She tried to get me busted when the parents came back. Instead they threatened to kick her out if she didn't start treating me better. They purposely didn't tell her that was my only slap. She didn't mess with me nearly as bad after that.
    Edit: misspelled words

I have. I was bullied a lot in elementary school, and this one boy wouldn’t stop teasing me. I’d asked him to stop repeatedly, and I’d told the teachers too. No one ever did anything. I’d eventually had enough, so I just turned and slapped him in the face. Of course I got in trouble, but what the hell was I supposed to do?? Anyways, I left a big handprint on his face and he left me alone for a bit. Then they all just started getting worse. I moved to a different school for grade 6.

I have two of these stories lmao
    1. I had a cousin who was really violent and was known to attack people and shit, and being one of the older and bigger cousins I always had the younger ones running to me for protection. He was trying some shit and as usual, I was keeping him at bay so my other cousins could get away. He was punching and kicking me and trying to ram into me so I'd move, but I didn't budge. I reached my breaking point eventually and just smacked the shithead straight across the face. He went bawling to his dad that I'd attacked him, but nothing came of it. He left us alone for a while, but eventually he started being a little fucko again as people tend to do. I haven't seen him in a long time, but I've heard he's mellowed out a bit so that's nice
    2. My dad, to put it simply, was abusive. He was trying to take a nap and told my brother and I to stay quiet, and as you do I made the simple noise of acknowledgement cause I was a bit distracted. He took this as some sign of disrepect and he stormed into the kitchen where I was, backing me into a corner and absolutely screaming at me. I had my phone clutched tightly in my hands because I knew he'd try to take it, and I wasn't having any of it. Sounds a bit spoiled of me, but my phone was literally my only access to the outside world because I was kept out of school, didn't have any friends and wasn't allowed outside. He, of course, tried to grab it and rip it out of my hands, but I put up a fight. After a long struggle he got it away from me, and with all the rage I had built up inside from the years of his bullshittery I slapped him as hard as I could. Nearly got my wrists broke, but it was fuckin' worth it
Aaaannd that's it. Sorry for the long stories!

Sorry to hear you got a couple of asshole relatives. The cousin pisses me off cause he'd torment the younger cousins, like dude wtf? Why did they keep inviting him to stuff where he'd most likely hurt the younger cousins? Good on u for protecting ur younger cousins btw.
Also, please tell me you've moved away from ur dad and went no contact since then. And I don't think u were acting spoiled, u were protecting ur phone cause it was one of ur only escapes from the hell hole ur father trapped u in (it sounds like he was isolating you). Hope ur doing a lot better and r away from him.

    • @j4ck_r4bbit62
      @j4ck_r4bbit62 2 года назад +1

@@gred_and_forge Jeez, I don't even remember writing this lol. For clarification, the cousin who would attack other people was also quite young, but he'd target the ones who were even younger than him cause they wouldn't (or couldn't) fight back. We only saw him once or twice a year, and everybody gave him the benefit of the doubt because "boys will be boys", but eventually everyone did get fed up and he was pretty much banned from all family events, which extended to his dad as well because he was enabling him. I saw him again for the first time in a while sometime last year, and he was still a shithead but he wasn't attacking anyone anymore. As for the whole situation with my bio dad, my family and I have lived separated from him for about five years now, and he recently moved states away from us. I don't have the option to go completely no contact because if I don't talk to him on occasion, he refuses to pay child support (not court ordered, so he can do that). :/ I am definitely doing much better now than I was then, though. Not stuck in the house all the time or cut off from the world lol.

Before graduating 8th grade, I did cheerleading tryouts for a week or two and was very sore because of it. One guy I had known since elementary school was walking around with his friends deciding it would be funny to smack girl's butts as they walked past. This guy and his friends were part of the 'popular' guys. They smacked my friend's and my butt, but the guy who smacked mine partially missed and hit part of my thigh, which hurt like crazy because I was so sore from cheerleading tryouts. After fuming with my friends for a minute or two, I sought him out and slapped him hard across the face in front of all his friends. He went quiet for a second or two before admitting he deserved that. I hate that guy still.

I sometimes actually wish I was on reddit. I have a story for this question. I use to be part of an amateur acting company. For background on the person involved, he was already a problem but our director was a kind and generous person and really put a lot of effort into helping this guy learn to mesh with the group. Considering the sort of non-conformists that do amateur theater, there was a lot of tolerence to go around in the first place, so being considered a problem says a lot. During the rehearsal of a group dance number this person for some reason had a cane in his hand. While my back was to him (and mind you I am female) he decided it was a good idea to shove his cane between my legs. I came around on him in a spin and open-palm slapped his face with all the force of my turn.
He was immediately ejected from the company. Not only lots of witnesses but my long friendship with the director meant he knew it was nearly impossible to provoke a physical response from me.

In high school, there was this girl a grade below me who was spoiled absolutely rotten and got away with murder because she was retarded. The teachers kissed the floor she walked on and the other students did everything she ever demanded of them.
I absolutely hated her for this. I did not see her as special, I saw her as a brat. For comparison, there was another student, a boy, who was severely mentally handicapped and still wore diapers and was at a third grade education level in tenth grade (when this story happened). He was such a nice person, and I genuinely loved this sweetheart to pieces.
Anyway, in P.E, we had lockers, as you do, and her locker was on the opposite side of the bay from mine. For some reason though, she thought that me not putting up with her shit meant I was her absolute best friend in the world. Every day she would get to the gym before me since her previous class was closer than mine, and she would dump her shit in front of MY locker, and then wait for me to show up before beginning to slowly change. Every day I had to wait for her to get her ass out of my way so I could get into my locker and change, and ended up late EVERY. DAMN. DAY.
One day I was particularly sick of her shit (I don't remember what happened), and ran to the locker room to get changed and get out of there. This little brat strolls on in, gets her clothes, comes back around to my side, pushes my stuff ONTO THE FLOOR, and begins to change. At this point I was seeing red, but I still managed to politely smile and ask her if she could get dressed by HER locker today.
You know what this little shit does? She points in my face and tells me that she doesn't appreciate me being rude to her! I slapped her so hard her head bounced off my open locker door. I got two days of in-house suspension, but at least she started getting changed by her own locker, so in the end it was worth getting yelled at by the coach while she wailed and blubbered in my ear.

I slapped my ex fiancé after I found out he had a six month affair with our mutual friend and he tried blaming it on me. His excuse was because I never showed him enough love and attention and I “let go of my body” (I gained twenty pounds after two kids and was having trouble getting it off). He said all this despite the fact I was taking care of our toddler and newborn 5-7 days a week with no help. Some weekends his mom would help but mostly I was on my own. I also cooked, cleaned, took care of finances, etc. (Basically your average stay at home mom). Also it was absolute bullshit bc we still did it every night and I always cared for everything and anything he wanted. When he said it was my fault, I slapped him, told him that was bullshit, and told him to go sleep at his other girlfriends house. Been free and happy ever since.

When I was like 13 or so I had this mammoth of a 16 year old girl hit me for like 6 months straight just because she could. One day I snapped and bitch slapped her as hard as I could. She cried but left me alone after that. I even said sorry afterwards for some reason. She was actually nice to me after that though

I currently live with a well behaved 7 year old little brother. Here’s how.
My little brother, starting when he was 6, was a really bratty child. He always had the nerve to talk back to our mother,
who have been struggling to raise us for our entire childhood. None of us could ever keep him in line, except my dad. If he
wanted to, he probably could scream the wrath of the burning hell itself if he wasn’t a good man. Now, he’s a dad that teaches lessons
through tough love (an intense carebear) but he has never slapped us. In fact, he didn’t slap anyone in this story. Well...Didn’t slap anyone with
his HAND at least. But on this one day. The 2nd year of online school started. My mom was extra tired and was trying to get my whining little
brother to finish his school work but he wouldn’t do it. He was nestled into the living room chair with his arms crossed and eyebrows creased.
He kept calling my mother names and insulting her repeatedly like she was a cheap tutor or maid (yeah he was pretty spoiled back then).
And my father, who was also in the household in the time, was EXTREMELY tired, usually working himself to sheer exaughstion every day,
let out the most loudly “HEY!” I have ever heard. He then proceeded to yell my little brother over to where he was, also telling me to get
‘Mr. Spanky’. Mr. SPANKY, however, as silly as it sounds, looks like a death weapon in my fathers hands, was a LONG wooden stick with my own
and my brother’s names engraved on the handle in red sharpie. He’s not abusive! He’s a good man. He just roped my brother over to a corner near
the foyer door and just gave him a few hard waps to the butt and a scolding. Nothing too serious. If only his voice didn’t echo so....Menacingly.
For the rest of the day, my little bro was quite annoyed but behaved for the rest of the day.
Today, the stick got a re-customization and now has flames drawn on it (silly, right?).He’s rarely used anymore and my little bro is a well behaved boy now.
But he always behaves around dad.

Back when I was enemies with my friend, he got super mad at me. His friends were also kind of mean to me even though we've been in the same class for a while. One time after we were yelling at each other. A few minutes later, I noticed one of his friends were sneaking up behind me attack me. I was kind of a nerd then but knew how to fight and had enough of being bullied so I turned around and punched him so hard he fell down. I felt so cool and started yelling at him while he was bawling his eyes out. I was still feeling so proud of myself for finally standing up for myself after years. Well it turned out that he felt bad that his friend was so mean to me and was just trying to jump-scare me playfully. I felt horrible and try to say sorry. Whoops.

My high school crush. We were friends and it wasn't a secret that I had a crush on him forever. We started hanging out outside of school a lot our Junior year because he was learning to drive in my car since his folks didn't own one, even went to homecoming together (not as a date, he needed a ride and promised me a dance). I was driving him home one night after he had a driving lesson and came to see a play I was in when he asked me what I would say if he asked me to be his girlfriend. I told him to ask me and find out and got silence. The next day at school he came bounding off the bus all happy looking and told me he asked some other girl out. I slapped him so hard right in front of the principal and everyone in the commons and walked away. I avoided him in all our classes until lunch when he came up to me, brilliantly red handprint still on his face, to apologize and tell me it was a joke to see my reaction. I told him "Well it wasn't a very funny joke was it?" He said no and that the principal said the exact same thing, then he asked me out. We're not together anymore, but our son is 18 now.

I guess that hurt her ego or something(shes emo btw) or was embarrassed that I called out her bs in front of a group of people cuz she turned red & slapped me.

The language of a slap is more nuanced than a punch. Punches can be sloppy, drunken. But slaps....slaps universally say "you screwed up." "You hurt someone, badly." "You need to clean up your act." Slaps are either full of spite or full of love, but they all universally say: "DO BETTER."

I was in middle school when I slapped someone. Me, my sister, my parents, one of my cousins, and his friends were at my grandparents house and I was watching one of my cousins friends play a video game when he decided to lock us in the room. I was shouting and tried to open the door several times until they unlocked it and I was so pissed that I slapped the closest of my cousin’s friends.
My dad saw and took me in another room to have a talk until I explained what happened and the others agreed. I bet Dad thought I slapped my cousin’s friend for no reason because he only saw me slap the boy.

I've never legitimately slapped someone across the face, but there were times I wish I could've. I am a quiet, mentally ill girl who hates conflict. The only time I've ever reamed someone out (outside my family), it was over FaceTime. I gave my ex some verbal slaps that day. Screamed at him in a way he never expected because I'm a conflict averse person. He demeaned my brother and dad publicly online for no reason when they were trying to politely disagree. I absolutely thrashed him (without using a single cuss word, kinda proud of that). I was so livid, asking how he - A GROWN MAN - could so blatantly disrespect me and my family like that? After getting my lashing, he was just in quiet (abnormal for him) awe, and told me he liked that I screamed, it was refreshing to hear me stand up for something. That made me angrier. He should never have wanted to push me to that point. One of the biggest reasons why he's my ex now. The me of 2022 is still calm, peace-loving, and conflict averse, but the moment someone threatens me or my family in any way, shape, or form - gloves off, I'm not being nice anymore. I can be firm and resolute now. I have grown. Thank you.

It wasn't a joke slap, I was having a bad day and this guy made an (unintentionally) slightly offensive joke to me, so for some reason I just got a flare-up of anger. He looked more stunned than upset, and I backtracked and explained in a strangely formal and coherent way why his joke annoyed me but that it was no reason to slap him and that it was an asshole move. He didn't seem mad, just dazed, but iirc I think he apologized for what he said and I was like "dude I just slapped you you're fine". One day in the lunchroom he was as usual bragging about how good he was, and I lost it and backhanded him across the face with my newspaper. In year 8 I didn't want to go to my school social. I went in year 7 and had a drab time- the loud music, smoke, flashing lights, people jumping up and down- thought it was stupid. I stayed home. My twin sister went, and came home in absolute tears. I was shocked and asked her why. She got slapped across the face for asking a boy to leave her alone, who was following her around the venue and trying to hang out with her. He's a selfish jerk and was uncomfortable, wanting to hang with her friends. When she asked him to go he got angry and slapped her across the face. The boy is in my class.
Least to say I was angry. I went to school the next day and slapped him across the face. HOW YOU LIKE THAT HUH?!? His friend had to hold me back while he just stared at me in shock.

When I was in middle school, there was this girl that liked to bully me a lot. I've dealt with bullies before but I've always had this sort of meh attitude to it. Her biggest insult to me was "ugly stupid skinny slut" to which I always replied "thanks, Im working hard at the gym", any other insult was met with either "thanks for telling me", "yeah I know" or "sure thing". Now for the slap, usually on Fridays I would stay inside the classroom during lunch, to work on homework so I wouldn't do it on the weekend. The class representative usually stayed to so he could copy my English work and homework (English was the second language at school), she comes in and immediately starts insulting me, the class representative told her multiple times to stop, she ignored it. I was working on a map or something like that, and I was using a ruler to make the lines straight, I don't remember what I was doing but I do remember the whole thing being very complicated and I didn't want to mess it up, so she gets up and just shoves me, making me mess up the work, and I had this moment of unfiltered rage and I just slapped her, I didn't even think about it, i was only aware of what I did because my hand was tingly. She kept talking shit about me but never tried to do anything physical again.

21:45 The kid wasn't slapped/punished so he pulled that crap... And to many people run to the defense of kids being disciplined... If it was a beating, I could see stepping in, but a slap is not beating the kid... The funny part is when a kid does something bad, they blame the parents saying they didn't raise the kid right, but if the parent had spanked the kid, slapped the kid etc. to teach them bad actions will come with a spanking they are labeled child abusers.... It's like make up your minds If the parents cannot spank the kid, then NO ONE has the right to whine about the kid not being raised right....

    • @pennyforyourthots
      @pennyforyourthots 3 года назад

      Yeah, you're just objectively incorrect.
You can punish a kid without hitting them, at all, especially when they're young, which is when it's most important to teach them to not do bad behaviors, because that's what influences them when they're older.
Spanking and slapping doesn't teach them to not do bad things, it teaches them "bad things result in pain, so just don't get caught".
When you fail to make a child understand WHY what they were doing was bad, and just punish them for doing bad things, you haven't actually taught them anything. The only thing you really taught in that situation is that violence is a proper response to any kind of perceived slight, especially since most parents can't seem to keep their hands off their child for the most minor offense (no, back talk is not a spankable offense dickheads)
It's also scientifically proven that negative reinforcement is less effective than positive reinforcement, so while you should still punish your child if they do something bad, it's actually much more effective to reward them for doing something good. This doesn't mean reward them literally all the time, that's how you spoil your kid, but giving the reward of a toy or something for getting good grades is a much more effective way to get them to behave.
spanking a kid isn't raising them right, so it's not a contradiction, you just don't know how to raise a kid and don't want to admit that you support child abuse. kids grow up good in spite of spanking, not because of it.
