Wayne, let me be the first to attack! The instructions say to grease this gear box, but not the other? Quite perplexing. Unless this gearbox has more stress? Also, check to see if the motor fully engages the worm gear, I noticed it sliding around again in your video. I would still suggest a shim between the motor and the side of the box to keep it fully engaged so it doesn't strip out or becomes disengaged.
Enjoying this build. Undoubtedly a great model but surely they'd sell more if they did the ME 109 to compliment the Spitfire. - I'd sign up for that today. Been said before, just doing my bit to build up the demand :)
Have Agora got shares in IKEA? That base looks like it would make a good coffee table! I knew you would open up that old wound again so keep it covered until it's fully healed!
I finally started getting shipments for 1701D again pack 14 in February then contacted them about 13 and in March got pack 15 with pack 13 magazine no parts contact them again asking if 4 items were build parts then week later build parts show up and within another couple of days I get another pack 13 magazine all by itself. Took awhile but finally was only 3 months behind
Wayne, any news about the spitfire? It's been a while since you assembled it and now this zero managed to catch up and reach its same level of completion.
Wayne - I am building the same Zero. I am having the same problem that I see you are having. The right landing gear is hanging down about 2 cm. I have tried to rebuild the gear several times but no matter how I change the configuration the gear still hangs down. Any suggestions on how to keep the gear up in its bay as it is on the left side ( which seems to work as it's supposed to)?
My gear doesn’t hand down that much. The gear door is not attached. I will have to wait for the operation of the landing gear to re attach it. To reduce the droop I had to really fix in the central shaft of the middle cog
Had the exact same problem. I completely disassembled the landing gear then reassembled tightening the screws. The shaft with the cog on the end of the landing gear must lay perfectly flat in its tray, so that means you need to push down on it while placing the loose cog that connects with the landing gear cog and motor cog. You have to press it in place snuggly, but ensure the gear teeth mesh. Place the cover on with four screws. Then gently turn the plane over and it should not hang loose. If it does, re mount the center cog until it engages the gear and motor. You may have to rock the landing gear back and forth till it is snug in the full up position. You will also have to fiddle with that center cog. Also one very important thing to check! The landing gear "arm" 028-01 that is supposed to press the landing gear limiting switch 033-03, was made too small and fell short of both switches. So I added plastic "extenders" so that it can depress each switch. Be Sure to check this. Sometimes the landing gear "arm" doesn't depress the switch even though its the correct length. Part 041-01 has the same problem, so be sure to check it. Check the forum for my updates, as there will be big trouble ahead when you get to Pack 10. Cheers. Also, expect no help from Agora. I have attempted to work with them solving these issues with them but to no end.
@@cs7511 Thanks for the reply. I took things apart and fixed the landing gear droop. I agree that the steps for puting the gear in place have to be done in exact sequence. First put the motor and gear in place. THEN put the central cog in place - even though it doesn't fit down fully in the channel for the axle of the cog - leave it elevated out of the channel. THEN, while holding the landing gear strut down, fix the motor/gear cover in place with the 4 screws. That will push the gear box up out of place but when the box is screwed into the wing with the large and small screws the gear will be forced up into its housing and will not droop.
I wish that Agora had brought out the Spitfire instead of Hachette. I had an argument with them about the colour scheme which I still think is wrong for the particular pilot that they chose. I’d rather have had a model with a choice of decal sheets, and opening machine gun hatches and detailed guns instead of flashing lights and sounds.

Konnichiwa Wayne san! :) Imagine that at 1:4 scale like the bike! 'You're gonna need a bigger shed!' *lol*
The base for the zero is the same size as the base for the spitfire.
Loving the build as all ways.
Stay safe all.
Enjoyable as always sir.
That is looking very good, I haven't got the space to display such a large model.

It's looking great Wayne. 👍
04:52 You need to put that hammer into your Amazon store. It looks perfect for models!
Wow 11 days, and no mishaps! Oh is that tempting fate?

super montage
Hi Wayne l like this base it's better then the hatchet one
I can see people prefer ship builds to aircraft builds as they don't take up as much room despite their lengh

We are waiting up to issue 100 before we can continue. I’m guessing that’s next month
Hi Wayne - what is your opinion of the base so far? It does appear to be much more robust, relative to the Spit’s ridiculous offering!
Definitely. Seems a lot better quality
Any updates on the Spitfire? I don't recall seeing a video for some time
Nope nothing yet
How much does this model end up costing??? CRAZY!
Interesting that one side of the stand has a lot of holes and the other side is just blank space.

Well that sucks as we only get poxy plastic plates with our MK1A Spitfire display base

you have gap in the bottom of the display case
