Thank you so much! Fun fact. Tried to solve one of these in a video game. And after an hour of frustration it was, either rip my hair out or look up if there was some methods to it. Got it done in less than a minute after watching your method. An incredible method you have going here, really shows how easy things can actually be with the right set up. But it takes some very high level of understanding of the puzzles to come up with the simplified methods though. So all props to you, and again. Thanks! You literally saved my day!

By 5:13 with the rotation logic and the consideration to star solving alternating superior rows and left rows, from the top left corner to the bottom right corner was enough to pass my game! I’m so happy I found this video, such a nice tutorial, super clear! Thank you!

I was having a lot of trouble with a slide puzzle in a video game, learning about the 2nd rotation (the piece you wanna place goes into centre, then you rotate everything around the centre till you find q good position) helped a lot! Now I finally solved it!
    Thanks for the great tutorial!

Hello from 8 years in the future. Thank you very much for this video. Crazy that all the other "Solve ANY slider puzzle!!" tutorials I found end with "now you have to solve the 3x2, and there's no one overall way to do it, so you'll just have to figure it out", when this video explained clearly and precisely how to do it 8 years ago. Thank you thank you.

    A other method :
First solve the 1 tile like this:
    1 x x x
Then solve the 2 tile like this:
    1 2 x x
Then slide the 4 to the place that 3 should be or slide the 3 to the place that 4 should be so it will be like one of these:
    1 2 4 x
    or
    1 2 x 3
    Then do this:
    1 2 4 0
    x x 3 x
    or
    1 2 0 3
    x x x 4
    and
Type 1: Move the 4 to the 0 then move the 3 to the 0.
Type 2: Move the 3 to the 0 then move the 4 to the 0.
    (0 = Empty Place)
    Repeat at the second row.
    Then you should get this:
    1 2 3 4
    5 6 7 8
    Then do this :
    1 2 3 4
    5 6 7 8
    13 9 x x
    0 x x x
    or
    1 2 3 4
    5 6 7 8
    0 x x x
    9 13 x x
Type 1: Move the 13 to the 0 then move the 9 to the 0.
Type 2: Move the 9 to the 0 then Move the 13 to the 0.
    (Again, 0 = Empty Place)
    Repeat at the second column.
Then move the 3 pieces until they are solved.

IMPORTANT: for those doing the metaverse, your strategy should be right > left (instead of left > right in the video) because the missing final piece is at the bottom left corner, not the bottom right

    • @Not_49

      Why

    • @HeyKevinYT
      @HeyKevinYT 10 месяцев назад

@@Not_49Because you'd end up with a misplaced last row. The final missing square needs to be on the correct side of the board, and the strategy is to start on the opposite side of the missing square

  • @Tsskyx
    @Tsskyx 8 лет назад +2

The way I finish a row is, that I first place the second-to-last tile in the last tile's spot (so if the grid is 4x4, I put the number 3 into the 4 spot), then, I place the last tile of that row below it, and then I rotate both of them so that they get fixed.

    • @MaizumaGames
      @MaizumaGames  8 лет назад

    • @Tsskyx

Maizuma Games Yeah, and for the last two rows, I just go from left to right, first placing 9 into the 13 spot, then 13 into the 14 spot, and then rotating both into the correct position.

what I took away from this is that the best approach is to divide the puzzle into subsets by taking away columns and rows from the end until you've reduced it to a 2x2. I won't remember the rotation thing but the divide and conquer definitely works, so thank you.

I know a easier method for the top side of numbers for 5x5. As normal, you do the first 3 numbers then find the last number, place the 5th number next to the third number then put the fourth number under the 5th number then make a gap next to the 5th number and then swipe it there then there will be a free gap for the 4th number.
I find this method much easier.

The method i use for the corner edge is a little easier. I get the last two numbers in order and move them together as one block. I get them "staged" on the edge under the corner. Then you can rotate them into place together. I didn't really understand the corner solving method shown here very well. It's fun how these can be solved in different ways.

Question, solving a 4x4, if you have a puzzle that’s in the right order and you take out the 14 and 15 and swap them, is it possible to solve it by sliding the numbers in the correct order?
No matter what I do I can’t get the last two in order. Doesn’t matter if it’s 14&15, 12&13, 10&11 it just doesn’t seem to work out.
