      Cody Stewart I've had that same thought. Everyone stfu about Kratom already!. When I first discovered Kratom no one knew about it, therefore I didn't tell anyone about it, 12 years later... Bam!... it's all over the internet!. It's like telling everyone about this great high paying job you're applying for, you're just shooting yourself in the foot.

      That is the best way to put it! Big pharma gets antsy about losing 1% of sales for painkillers and detox drugs, and the alphabet soup of government agencies ride in to save us from safer, effective, natural and cheaper kratom! So glad we've got the best government money can buy! I guess we got quite the bargain by electing Trump - that probably cut out a few (hundred) middlemen

      @@JaneCooper190072 and what's your perspective? Someone who has never been addicted to any substance? Someone who hasn't tried painkillers or Kratom? People die from quitting opiates completely. And if someone is taking kratom rather than heroin, they are clean. They aren't taking a substance that threatens their life with every injection. They aren't purchasing a drug illegally and risking being put in prison.
      Fuck off, some people are less fortunate and find themselves in bad situations. And it's people like you who make it seem like it's their issue for being addicted.

      @@christopherharris8312 I've had opiate addiction for over 30 years, so I do know what I'm talking about actually, and concerning the Kratom you still need to withdraw off of that too, so no you're not clean. My friend tried kratom a few days ago and had the worse allergic reaction, she had a fever and was very ill.
      All I'm saying is you now have a Kratom addiction.
      The same with methadone you're at less of a risk from overdose, infection from injection sites e.t.c. ; but you're still addicted to an opioid and have a hell of a time coming off cold turkey. There's just no easy way to come off of opiates, you're going to go thru some discomfort regardless of what you take. The best way to do it is reduce as low as possible and then get something for about a week to get over the worst part.
      It IS their/our "issue" for being addicted. Who else's?

      Kratom got me off of pain medication in the past, and then I stopped taking thd kratom and then has no withdrawals. Kratom saves lives, it is no killer. Besides if you start mixing stuff anything can kill you. Like idiots that get drunk while taking oxycontin. Since that happens on a by the minute basis now...Should we make booze illegal because people love to mix that with drugs of all types, or should the oxycontin be illegal because it wipes out about 40,000 people a year. Yet, it remains legal. Should it be banned?
      🤷‍♂️
      Nobody has an answer.
      But it is a proven fact that Kratom can help you get off of heroin or oxycontin without letting the withdrawals butcher and maim you.

    I've used kratom for the past 15 years or so to manage my nerve and arthritis pain. In that time, I stopped consuming alcohol, street drugs, I've kept the same desk job for 10 years, been happily married for 12, own a house and paid off the car. There seems to be a real disconnect between what people think a kratom user is and what we actually can be.
    This is largely due to the ongoing opioid crisis hysteria. There isn't a viable option for pain management available for a lot of people in the USA anymore. Pain patients are often treated like criminals and junkies and either turned away or monitored to the point of weekly piss tests and strict medication use guidelines. Prescriptions for opioid pain medication has dropped yet deaths from overdoses continue to skyrocket despite restrictions. Why? Fentanyl has filled that demand for relief. What exactly is the point of these restrictions when street fentanyl is cheap and plentiful? Anyway, I'm glad I got out of that racket. I feel like a beat the system and I'm lucky to be alive.

      Congrats man... As someone that took painkillers and was shooting heroin for years I certainly don't understand how this was better than a really good 5 day subutex taper or even just a cold turkey cut out..
      I found Kratom an awful solution that isn't effective enough to actually take away serious withdrawals and also just suffers from the lack of legality and therefore also the production of quality kratom.
      For me. Subutex was the savior. Long term Suboxone use is AWFUL. Just as bad as methadone and harder to come off than Oxy's or heroin. But if you're using oxy/heroin you can literally come off in 5 days with very little withdrawal and very little pain with a good smart sub taper..
      i also know many people that got sober with kratom 3 times, subs 3 times, and methadone 3 times, only to then make themselves detox with nothing so that it would stick in their brain. Everyone is different.
      That's awesome it worked for you but I really hope people don't just jump on this. There's a reason it's not the go to.

      I really am not trying to be a downer, but is that 2 straight years of using it? By all means, harm reduction is a strategy and I’d say better on kratom than methadone. But your son isn’t clean until he has nothing interacting with his opiate receptors, and time makes breaking a habit harder. The brain also learns, so to speak, and gets used to things - meaning going without after 2 years would be torture.
      If he’s still young and simple harm reduction isn’t all you’re going for, I’d look for a therapist familiar with kratom and talk out an exit strategy with GOOD SUPPORT in case things get hairy. I know it probably feels safer as is but the question becomes, is this what you both want for the rest of his life? Because it’ll only get harder, and as tolerance builds the risk of switching back grows also. As well, unlike say suboxone, kratom does not block the effects of opiates whatsoever.
      Just don’t think being on kratom is a cure all. It’s great for chronic pain sufferers, but for those that have addiction issues, it’s still a drug being used to alter one’s mood. Therapy is also worthwhile because usually there’s something underlying - for me it was anxiety and of course, opiates take care of that. So would kratom but I know it’s not a long term solution so I had to deal with some less wonderful days, worth it in the long run.
      In all seriousness, even if you never see this, I wish you and your son luck. Hopefully you also know the huge difference a supportive family can make in recovery, sounds like you have that part well covered.

Between $300/ hour specialist and my doctor I was told id have shaking/tremors/ seizures for the rest of my life. Thing got easier but they were always there. Buddy told me about kratom for energy. Ended up trying it and it’s the only thing that takes the shaking, seizures away. Tried everything doctors prescribed and nothing worked. Kratom basically gave me my life back again. • @saints360row
      @saints360row 5 лет назад +5

      Bruokoli, You won't know that you're psychologically addicted to cannabis until you are either. Opioids are HIGHLY water soluble, meaning simple water will distibute it evenly - There are four cornerstones to prevent opi OD's: 1) Don't fucking mix or add any other respiratory depressants. 2) Add water to distribute all opioids evenly in whatever you're taking, as there are even pressed pills out there. 3) Measure out one-eighth of said solution as a tester dose via prefered ROA and juxtapose strength through said volumetric dosage. 4) Use the fucking buddy system with naloxone at hand.
      I've hypothetically been using for over ten years and only OD'd once when I used a completely legal fentalogue RC. Never happened with any morphinan. Not to mention EtOH (Drinking Alcohol) is more lethal than all illegal, recreational drugs combined annually. Opioids don't damage the brain or liver like EtOH does nor does it produce excessive insulin which is also damaging through excessive amounts of carbs like EtOH does. Oh, did I mention how cancerous EtOH is? I'd rather OD and die and be done with it than loose my mind, need a new liver and/or acquire cancer or diabetes.
      Also, tweaker or tweeker is for stim users. And just for future reference, there's a major diference between junkie & addict, and it ain't what drug they use either; what do you think you strive for? - Not an accomplishment but the release of endogenous chemicals, the accomplishment is just the drug to release endogenous neurotransmitters.

I have been on it for 5 years now, i have never abused it, but than you have the select few that do abuse it and they give the whole thing a bad name as a result. Kratom will be no different the abusers will give it a bad name even for the people who take it responsibly and for medicinal purposes

    I lost 9 friends/co-workers in a helicopter crash and it destroyed me. I slipped into alcoholism and further wrecked my life for 4 years. One day my buddy gave me a couple kratom capsules to help with motivating me at work one day. I’ve been taking it daily for 5 years at this point. Had it not been for kratom, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be here. I’ve been slowly reducing my doses and I’m now down to about 4 750mg capsules per day and I am going to be off of it completely soon. All without a doctor. If you don’t use it like an idiot, it can be an invaluable tool. This plant saved my life.

      @@skipstodder8996 I haven't completely stopped taking them yet. Currently, I take one capsule when I wake up and one in the evening. I definitely felt the withdrawals that you're talking about though because I would take one of my days off and fight through it without taking any or very little. When I would resume the normal routine, each dose would be a little smaller. Example: If I was taking 5 capsules every 4 hours, 7 days a week, then after my "purge" day the normal routine would be 4 capsules every 4 hours etc etc.. Little bits of weed helped when I had problems sleeping but if I didn't have access to weed I'd probably just do Tylenol PM or something like that. I also ate a little healthier and started taking complete vitamins and it seems to help quite a bit energy-wise. I know it's annoying af but you'll get it. 💪

    I just tried it yesterday, out of desperation for back pain. I have failed fusion and spinal instability. It actually worked wonderfully. I slept, for the first time in months. In my bed! I didn't wake up from or with pain. No one has died from kratom alone. There has always been another substance involved. I was pretty much at the point where I was considering just ending it. The pain was so bad and had been unrelenting for years. I said fuck it. I'm trying it. I'm glad I did.

      @christopherecho9783 5 лет назад +13

      “It isn’t an opiate it’s an opioid” - things addicts say to make themselves feel better. Look if you want to take Kratom - do it. Just don’t go around saying it’s not addictive. That is dangerous. It is helpful for some people to get off opiates. However - staying on Kratom is not being “opiate free”. You are still addicted and reliant on a drug. Is it better than being addicted to Morphine - I think it is. It seems far less inhibiting. However if you are being honest you will admit there still have not been enough legit scientific studies on how this drug effects a human with prolonged use.
