The "Lobe" action of that thing is genius. Well done FastCap.
Thanks!
I love it when people show their products and give away their plans in a video description.
Incredible craftsmanship I love it
That is super cool and innovative. 👍🏻👍🏻
Looks great Paul!
You had a level right there and you couldn't get it straight. Lol
Very cool! Think I will need one of those for our barn/shop we are building.
Wow...! This has great application in the pool industry !! I wish I lived in the USA....!
Love this design... Great idea!
Love hearing this!
Thanks FastCap!
love this
I was super excited to see an alternative to Rockler's offering but not at $129.
I'd love to see a 4 inch version. great product
A decent DIY'er could probably do it in a couple hours if you have a way to cut a nice circle. I guess nothing says the circle has to be perfect as long as you get you get your 2x4's level and parellel. May be easier to do octogon or hexagon sides with a jigsaw or skillsaw if you don't have a router with a circle jig or a CNC machine.
Look up turntable bearing, or Lazy Susan bearings, a winch handle, and a 2.5inch hose coupler (or whatever size hose you have). ~$30 in parts on Amazon. 4x4x 3/4 sheet of plywood, a 2x4x8, and a zip tie or velcro laying around hopefully. Whole project will run you about ~$65-$75. Up to you to put the sweat in and make it look as nice though. Considering the shipping costs the seller has to pay, I'd say $133 isn't a terrible price to charge and get a fair profit margin. Up to you how much you value your time, and the learning experience of DIY I suppose.
Excellent design
Thanks Greg.
I'd be interested in a video showing your lean mechanical stuff. Show the vacuum, compressed air, HVAC, and electrical systems in your facilities. Surely you guys have some clever ideas for each of those that would be worth sharing!
Good suggestion. I asked the guys to make a video when they get a sec.
Game changer
Dear where can i get the swivel hinges and adopter.
Молодцы! Только я такой шланг большой никогда в продаже не видел.
Это барабан, который продается
can we get a tour of your shop vac system too that looks awesome
Good suggestion. I asked the guys to make a video when they get a sec.
gota have one
Where the link for this ?
I need this
@Ace Boogie Here is the product link to our website: www.fastcap.com/product/super-reel
We now sell a 2"x50' hose; go to this link. www.fastcap.com/product/super-reel
Hey Paul, how about developing a reels for air hose and extension cords for job site use. May need to make them from metal for durability. Thx
There are quite a few products on the market that do that already…
Wish I could use this for my 5" flexible hose....
If you could find a 5 inch swivel cuff for the vacuum, it could be easily modified!
Throw a pair of "whiskers" on it tapered out at a 45 to help direct the hose onto the reel...
We haven’t had an issue with the hose reeling up, but that could be a useful modification!
LISTEN TO THE BOSS!!! lol
Mr. Paul, Any idea when these are going to be in stock? I reserved one a couple of weeks ago but still haven't heard anything. Thanks!
We are still not certain on when we are getting parts delivered, but it should be less than 2 weeks until they are back in stock.
Got mine on the way! Thanks.
When are you selling the CNC files? Love to buy it but shipping international is expensive...
looking into that. Will keep you posted.
Can you make one for air hose?
There are quite a few products on the market that do that already…
Are you getting good suction with that? It looks like it is hooked up to a dust collector
Yes it is hooked up to our shop dust collector. There is some suction loss due to the length of the hose, but not much at all.
That is awesome. Looks like it is made from American USA made fir core plywood...not that chinese junk. Great design.
Thanks Jeremy!
Looks cool! How much? Is shipping included?
$129...and everything over $100 is free shipping, Brian.
I would like to know where I can buy the long hose. I haven't had any luck finding any besides rockler's I want more options
Google "long hose for shop vac"
Try a pool vac hose
Chas The only problem with pool vac hoses is they're very heavy and not as flexible.
I have tried pool hose does not work well in my opinion. Just looking for sources for good shop vac hose
Jim You can find 25 foot lengths on Amazon very easily
For that price I just buy a plastic one for 60 lol
How many feet of hose does it hold?
It is totally up to you! The longer you make the 2x4s, the more hose it will hold. We have found its roughly 10 feet for every 3 inches of 2x4.
Will this fit a 2inch diameter vacuum hose, and how many feet?
@ScrubShark6663 For the Super Reel it works best with a 2" Inner Diameter, which is 2.25" Outer diameter. It can also be used with a 2.5" OD hose. It can fit any length hose, you will provide your own 2x4 and there are directions that come with it specifying what length to cut the 2x4 to depending on the length of your vacuum hose.
Here is a link to our website: www.fastcap.com/product/super-reel
Under the "Tech Specs" tab we have a PDF with the Super Reel instructions and that will help determine your 2x4 size needed for the length of your vacuum hose.
Another awesome product guys! Could you send me the cad file please. 😄
+Kacee Savage LOL. Are you lost? Do you think FastCap wants people making their own? lmao. They want to sell it to you to MAKE MONEY!!
Chris Hansen I had to try haha! 😄
Actually, we will look into selling the CAD file. I'll post here when we do.
Great idea looks awesome but the price really kills the whole thing.
I hear you. We did revisit the price to see if we could afford to lower it.
Is it for sale?
Yes, For more information on FastCap’s Super Reel, visit our website. ow.ly/UD3b30jyDm8
If you guys had a smaller version of this for the 50ft 1.5” hose you would be selling these like crazy. Most home owners dont own a 2.5 “ hose because its too heavy and not flexible, this thing is massive at 28inch from the wall to accommodate the 2.5 “ hose. Make one that is 22-24” from the wall and you will thank me later.
How much is this kit?
$140... Might as well buy a metal one that already comes with a hose on Amazon.
@@nickr.6507 Are there any on Amazon that support or come with 2.5" hose?
I think you would be better off selling the cad file , bearings, swivel cuff and templates for 25 maybe rather than the whole wooden part. then people outside the usa would buy it
Good idea. We are looking into it.
Have y'all thought about just selling the hardware?
We are looking into selling the CAD files and potentially a hardware kit as well.
Checkout woodcraft, they sell a 2-1/2-Inch Hose End Swivel Cuff. One end screws into the spiral thread of 2 1/2" dust collection hose and the other is a tapered 2 1/4 for standard shop vac hose attachement. Grab that and some lazy susans and you should be in business to make your own.
@@dking504 Lazy susan!!!" and now I can make it myself. I've only been looking for "bearing flanges" and having a very hard go at it! Thank you!!!
Get a level.
Link for this ? Or drawings ?
@100SCOTTISH Here is a link to our product www.fastcap.com/product/super-reel
That's why my wages not going up,.. I argue
129 bucks are you crazy and I have to provide materials to build it plus shipping no way man I can make one of these for way cheaper
It's now $80; if you're doing it way cheaper, I'd say you're not paying yourself, and that's apples and oranges.
$190???!!!
Fixed that. It is $129.
Tyler, that fuzz under your chin has got to go.
$133?! No thanks!
Wow!!!!! $129 !!! Seems extremely over priced and you still have to provide extra material to complete the set up. 👎
We are investigating selling the CAD file to make the cost lower. Unfortunately, the cost to make it adds up.
You're complaining about adding the cost of a 2x4. 🤦♂️
Add the precut 2x4 to the package and I bet it would cost $10 more for shipping alone.
You likely couldn't make one like this for less money.
That's exactly the point, at that high price of all this cut (CNC) wood, why not include all the wood. Charging $129 and still have to go get 2x4 to complete it ?! A reel at that price should be ready to go out the box.
You missed the point.
As I mentioned for the cost of a 2x4 (under $4 Cdn here) it would likely cost Fastcap more to ship plus the cost to source it, cut it and now a larger box to ship it.
You are already complaining about it being priced at $129.
I am perfectly willing to drive to HD or Lowes to get a $4 2x4 if it saves me $10 to buy the item. Never mind the fact that I can make it wider or narrower if I buy my own 2x4.
What next? You'll start complaining because they didn't include screws so you could hang it on the wall?
Fastcap's actually doing the customer a favor. Most businesses would be happy to pass this cost along. The added shipping to ship a 2x4, which costs about $2 at a home center, would be 5 times that. Fastcap is a lean company, don't forget that! As per price, let me know how a sheet of cabinet grade plywood costs you, a few hours of your time, as well as some parts? I suspect it's over $100, and remember Fastcap is paying employees and pays taxes. And God forbid, they kick a profit, because why else be in business?
Using a chop saw and drill/driver, no ear protection, no eye protection. Shame on you!
Sorry about that!
You don't have to be a safety loving freak all the time if your going to leave a comment on a smaller business's RUclips channel at least leave some thing nice no body really cares about eye and ear protection I bet you don't use it every single time you use a power tool. If you don't have any thing nice to say don't say anything at all.
