Hi Simon. I have tried this system once and I couldn’t get the LEDs to work properly, they worked ok at first then they just stayed on and didn’t alternate. So I am going to try again. Could this system be fitted to a HORNBY digital points and accessories decoder?
I had this set up on mine but only worked OK for two or three switches then the price just rebooted and both lights stayed on ...I gave up trying to sort it
Hi Simon, thanks for all your excellent videos and how to vids, I find them all so very useful. I am a retired carpenter but I seem to have been seconded to a neighbours shed where he has a 00 gauge railway setup. Or should I say, that he is in the throes of setting up. I somehow have found myself doing all the wiring for him. Because personally I'm into flight simulation and have built my own generic flight sim panel. Which helped in a way to sort out some of the wiring for my friend. It would be very helpful if you could list the components you use and where I might find them. Could you let me have some information on the components you have used in this video please. Kindest regards Brian
Hi Brian, your flight simulation sounds fantastic. All the components came from Ebay, there are several electronics companies listing on eBay. Unfortunately I cannot remember them, because my throat cancer taking over my life I have had to give up my model railway plans. Over the coming months I will be selling all my model railway items. Good luck with your neighbours plans to build a model railway, very enjoyable hobby...Simon
Ye gods Simon, I'm so sorry to hear that. Life can be so unfair at times. What can I say but thank you so so much for all you have done on the RUclips network. Your videos really are inspiring and a joy to watch because you have a knack of conveying things in a way that a layman like myself is able to understand and follow to fruition. I've only really just got into trains as I said before but I've learnt so much from you already. Take care and know that wifey and I are thinking of you. All the best. Brian
Hi Simon great vid I’m just doing mine with same kit ....I’ve hit a snag both points throw on one switch works great but cannot figure or remember on wiring three leds for the points route ...ie two greens when both points straight ahead and a red led for points crossing over ...I actually did a temporary wire up the other week ...it worked fine ...but when refitting in the control panel I’ve bloody forgot how I wired the three leds ....if that makes sense ....any ideas ......fred
Simon -Liverton Central .....hope all goes well for her my wife has just had a knee op ....so I guess we both chief cook and bottle washer....please don’t bother about my enquiry......more important things to think about .....best regards...Fred
Good evening that was the best and most simplest way to wire it all up, fantastic,
Fantastic tutorial thank you so much
Can you purchase the point position indicator in canada or the US

Many thanks, and Happy holiday to you, and New Year...Simon
Still a very good how to and will be using this method when I get to build my control panel...cheers Rog.
Hi Rog, they are very easy to setup, the CDU also protect the point motor from receiving too much voltage and burn out over time...Simon
I have a couple of CDU's its the other components that I lack..Rog

So helpful thank you so much, can I ask if a Hornby transformer will give me the power to the cdu
Sorry for the very late responce, don't get all my messages. If its the hornby 4amp then yes.

I have an african grey and he is very rebellious. I tell him he is a horrible pet but he never listens.
