Im a So-Cal native and I see Hay Haulers quite often here. I always loved the look of these things, it's very destinctive and you don't find this style anywhere else.
Yes, you're right. From age 7 to 18 (1981-1992), I lived in San Diego, and we did a good amount of traveling around the state in that time, and these hays trucks were just everywhere and always on the move. As we do when we're young, I didn't fully appreciate them at the time, and I took them for granted. Man, I wish I could watch all of those old memories like they were a video. Thanks for watching!
Hey, Hey, Hey Scotty, Jay is for 🐴s! Great collection of hay wagons! Love the doubles & the straights with pups. Not too many long nose straights with pups. But all very cool 😎!!! 8 High & all dry!!! 🛒for Ponies!!!👍👍👍
I think I may have seen 1 long nose truck and trailer setup in the very early days of my going to TFK, but I don't have photo proof, and my memory could also be questionable on this one too. Either way, about as rare as a Pete 372. 🤠👍
Thanks Steve! Your truck I wasn't quite sure was ever a hay hauler, but it has that look that says she could have been. That or bottom dump doubles. Still a beautiful rig regardless. Glad you enjoyed it, buddy!
Welcome back and hope all is well. I figured you'd done gone and burned to a crisp as hot as it's been here. 95 is too hot for this country but that's what it's been and I know that in the Arid Zone there is frost still on the ground at 95. Has to be GOOD money in hay hauling because of the nice rigs that do it. And ye old honk-a-thon. The trains will have to start running truck horns. Thanks and happy day and I'm seeing clouds here. The storm coming will be a doozy when it gets here. GBWYou!
Heeey buddy, you bet there's money in hay! We sure are on the crispy side around these parts, but we did get a little drink from the sky about 5-6 days ago. Back to the hots again though. Anywhere from 105°-113° is our normal temp spread for this time of year. There is talk of more rain "chances" in the days ahead, and boy we'll take every drop, please. As for the horns, strangely, I forget how obscene some of those guys get with them, and then I am reminded of it when I look at and edit these videos. Frankly, I lose my love for the horns VERY QUICKLY. I don't know if "doozy" rain is what you're wanting or needing right now, but I hope you get just the right amount. Thanks pal!
@@espeescotty Glad all is well with you and yours. 95 is too hot for me to be out in it. I've always been prone to heat strokes anyway. We always get a rough storm when a hot spell breaks. The last one was close to 2 3/4 inches in a couple of hours and still had one of your golden sunsets. And I just hit the mute button after the 6 minute mark. They can have it. Take care and a happy evening and feed bag and rack back! Happy Pappy Day 2 U too!
@@lewiemcneely9143 Oy, yeah...stay out of the heat for you. As much as possible at least. Some big white poofy clouds across 1/3 of the sky would be a nice treat for us, visually and shadewise, but that is rare as rain here. I'll be chillin' in the A/C. A round of happys to all there. Cheers.
@@espeescotty We had some clouds this morning but the sun in it's brilliance now. Scattered clouds but mostly sun. It won't last forever and me and the a.c. are constant companions. Have an a.c/ feed bag evening, GBWYou!
