      Interesting you say that, because I searched this song for the sole reason of reading the comments and seeing if anyone else noticed just how similar the later track, “Orphans of Babylon”, is to this.

    I absolutely loved this band,I first saw them at the Winter Gardens in Cleethorpes (supporting Cockney Rebel,I believe) in 1973/4.Went to see them again at the same venue the next year when they were supported by Nutz.Great days!

      I was at that gig..some friends dragged me along to see Cockney Rebel who were getting great reviews at that time..never hear of Be Bop Delux......I just remember this band taking the stage..looking rather awkward..never took much attention until the guitar player took a solo on the first song..probably Axe Victim.....what a player...very fluid..I remember some patter about Yorkshire..then Mr Bill Nelson sang a plaintive vocal that led to some of the most amazing guitar playing...Adventures in Yorkshire Landscape....the next day it was down to Rayners on Freeman St to get the album....Cockney Rebel were pretty dire..lots of great gigs at the Gardens..the best ones for me were AC/DC. ..Rory Gallagher...Motorhead..Juicy Lucy..Flaming Groovies,,....so many more..thanks for posting...Mr Nelson was and still is a amazing musician.

      The OGWT was great. No annoying audience, no look-at-me presenter, just Whispering Bob and his love of music, a deathly quiet atmosphere in the studio where some great bands and singers made magic, like Tim Buckley, Family, The Who, Captain Beefheart etc.

    First saw Be Bop supporting Cockney Rebel and loved them. Went to see them again and they were brilliant, Cockney Rebel not so much. Next time Bill had got rid of his band and played with the members of Cockney Rebel who'd left. After that he got a great band together and I saw them live many times. Still play their albums to this day.

    • @carlteacherman194
      @carlteacherman194 Год назад

      Was this concert you saw at Bracknell sports centre in 1974 by any chance? They were supporting Cockney Rebel but they were the better band. I recall seeing both there, and shortly after (?) they swapped a few musicians. I distinctly remember Bill Nelson singing a haunting version of Terminal Street.

      No. The first time was in some small hall and I'm not sure exactly where. It was somewhere on the District Line close to Barking. The second time was in Southend. The gig with the ex Rebels was in Croydon.@@carlteacherman194
