  • Prague is a fantastic place for great food, beer and absinthe! We wanted to share some of the best food and drinks :)
Here they are in order of appearance:
    1.Mlynec
    One of the top suggested restaurants in the Michelin Guide, Mlynec offers a fine dining experience overlooking the Charles Bridge. We loved the interior design, the creative tastes, the open kitchen, the exclusive wine options and the kind and attentive staff:) We made a reservation for 2PM and went ahead with the lunch menu that consisted of 2 courses (595CZK) or 3 courses (695CZK). We chose the 2 course option so that we would have more room for dessert later. Though not mentioned in the lunch menu, we were first served amuse-bouche with beetroot and tarragon . Lunch menu for 30.12.2022 consisted of;
First course: (starter) salmon tartar, capers, pomegranate, yuzu, caviar
Second course: (Main dish) Flap steak, cauliflower purée, pickled shallot, tempura, foie gras sauce
    2.Lokal Dlouhaa
This restaurant/bar was on every blog or instagram page I looked through so we paid a visit. It is a very spacious restaurant that to me appeared more like a beerhall than a restaurant. They serve simple traditional and tasty Czech food and great beer so we enjoyed every bite and sip:) Since we were there around New Years, we found mulled wine everywhere including at Lokal Dlouhaaa. We made a reservation to avoid any possible waiting and this would be my suggestion to you, dear reader.
The average prices for starters was 85-125CZ, main dishes 169-395 CZK
Beer: 39-51 CZK (probably the most reasonably priced beer we had in Prague)
    Mulled wine: 69 CZK
    3.Chimney Cake
A mix of yummy dough, cinnamon and sugar:) I love pastries like cinnamon roles so this was my favorite dessert in Prague. You can have them plain(which was my preference) or with nutella or ice cream. There are many shops or stands that sell Chimney cake all around the city.
    Average price: 90-120 CZK
    4.Nase Maso
We had done our research and had planned to have lunch here (no need for reservations) to avoid long queues we had heard of. Rightfully so because we walked by it randomly on our first night in Prague and the crowd around the small shop made us wonder what the fuss was all about; the juicy burgers of Nase Maso! The que at lunch time wasn’t so bad, after half an hour we had managed to get 1 out of the 3 tables inside and enjoyed our burgers;) Nase Maso not only has burgers, sandwiches and sausages but also is a butchery that sells meat (cattle and pork) and smoked meat. It was the best cheeseburger I’ve had in the past few years so it was well worth the wait and fuss!
    Cheeseburger price: 225 CZK
    Beer price: 44 CZK
    5.Cafe Savoy
An elegant cafe for brunch/lunch/dinner/dessert, anytime of the day really. Make sure to make a reservation from their website before you go and you will receive an email confirmation. Otherwise you may not find a table. The food was amazing, the service was 10/10 and we thought it was very cute that you can see the inside of the bakery area and smell the delicious butter on your way to the lavatory. It isn’t a cafe you can just run into because it’s not close to the touristic sights so plan your day accordingly:) Bolt (like Uber) is very common in Prague and works perfectly so we took Bolt whenever we were tired or just lazy.
    Average prices:
    Belveder Pure vodka: 148 CZK
    Food: 318-528 CZK
We had cream tenderloin roast with bread dumplings (468CZK)- a traditional Czech dish and I couldn’t stop eating the bread dumplings
    Coffee: 78-108CZK.
    Dessert: 88- 228 CZK
We tried the Vetrnik (125 CZK) which I was also quite content with.
    6.Absintherie Franz Kafka
Prague is famous for its Bohemian or Czech style absinth and there are many absinth bars were you can enjoy it the Czech way. We wanted to be close to the Christmas market so we went to Absintherie Franz Kafka located right at the Franz Kafka square. The waiter was very informative and we made the right decision by taking her advice:) They have over 30 different kinds of Absinth so it’s easy to get confused. We went with the first option on the menu(macerated absinth); absinthe that is prepared at the bar and comes in a small glass with a brownish color and spicy in taste (the aftertaste was mainly anise for me). The second time around we went with the option that comes with cold water (distilled absinth) and it wasn’t our favorite but nevertheless appreciated the experience.
    Macerated absinth: 110-170 CZK
    Distilled absinth: 150-250 CZK
