'Diporto' is one of the few (3-4 left) real tavernas in Athens. Worth the money and the wait !

Greetings from a local🇩🇰! Me and some friends were also at "Bæst" (Danish for Beast, not Best ). But in Danish the words Beast and Best are pronounced close to each other. We also had mixed feelings. We chose "The best experience" . A 10-course tasting menu, including their charcuterie board! We were 50/50 about what we liked. We agreed that their spicy "Margarita" Pizza with homemade Mozza was absolutely fantastic. Half of us weren't too keen on the one with green asparagus! We are going back again, but this time we´re only going "Al a Carte" and only choose from the Pizza menu. The dough and crust is awesome ! There homemade Mozzarella is fresh and fantastic, as is there tomato sauce. Toppings though! Not everything works on a Pizza. So choose your toppings carefully! Personally, I love green asparagus and I love pineapple, but they don't belong on a Pizza 🙄! When I become the Ruler of the world🤣, there will be a death penalty for both crimes!

I don't know how you could give The Traditional such a high mark. Even though our hotel front desk warned us about the place we decided to give it a try based on this video. The place is such a scam. They told us that they only have 3 items available as everything else is sold out, yet we later see locals ordering and getting those "not available" items. Of course the only available items that we can order were the more expensive ones. It wouldn't have been too bad if the food tasted great but this was our worst restaurant food experience in 3 weeks there.

Pastry are rarely warm.

Denmark here... To be honest, spend your money on good food but stay clear of the restaurant beverage prices. I mean, any kind of alcohol, bottled water and soda's are not really expensive in supermarkets and is of the same quality, so this is where you get "robbed" when going to a fast-food chain or a restaurant, and not really the food itself, that will be worth the price and quality.

Everything looks so tasty, I am going to give a couple of these places a try. I am going just for a foodie quick weekend. I was in Greece last year for the first time and blown away by the food, excited to dive further into the cuisine, so much more than pita and gyros, which of course Iove too.

Great little video, nicely shot, nicely narrated and with some local gems that I walk by every day without even noticing. I tend to avoid Pl Theatrou at least at dinner time, but your treatment of το δίπορτο has me reconsidering that.
