    The ecoboost performance package also adds in a duel mode exhaust thus the more aggressive exhaust sound. The ecoboost handling package adds large 19” tires with different rims , 4 piston brembo brakes. This rear wheel drive four banger is an excellent alternative to the GT and it is very competitive with many brands . This vehicle offers a great deal of flexibility ,its affordable and fun to drive daily and is under appreciated. The getrag manual transmission is a great feature however, it's not the fantastic one from the now discontinued ford focus RS.

      You're welcome Abhiranjan, glad you found the video helpful! I have friends who drive their Mustangs year round.. just a few things you want to make sure of if you're driving it in the winter:
      - Get winter tires to improve traction
      - Throw a few bags of salt in the trunk to weigh down the rear end
      - On days when it's going to snow more than a few inches, don't go out because you'll probably get stuck
      Fuel economy in the EcoBoost is pretty good compared to the performance it pushes out - try to avoid fast starts when you're stopped and make sure you warm it up before driving and take 30 seconds to a minute to cool down before turning it off and you're good to go

    Hello Steve,
    I have some other questions and hoping you will help!(especially knowing your familiarity with Mustangs and the Canadian winters!) and your videos have been an immense help for myself!
    Being from New Jersey (North Eastern U.S.) and we also some harsh winters (not as bad as yours I’m guessing) but here is my dilemma.
    I ordered a Mustang Eco boost Convertible in October and am expecting it shortly.
    My Dilemma/Questions:
    To get the 201A package, I had no choice but to order the 20” rims.
    My mechanic of twenty years told me come winter I would need to swap out the 20” rims for 19” rims and use snow tires come winter and I really shouldn’t use snow tires on the 20” rims because how wide they are, no traction. (so swapping tires AND rims twice a year ugh).
    My cousin in Florida (FROM N.J.) said don’t waste your time because if the roads are that bad your not using the car regardless of what rims and tires you have on there unless you use chains.
    Honestly, I don’t know what to do being this is my first Mustang and I prefer to not have to change rims and tires twice a year.
    1)Should I just get 19” rims and swap tires out in winter or
    2) keep the 20” rims/tires year-round, and if weather not good just use the wife car?
    3)Get 19” all year seasonal tires?
    Thanks for whatever you can Advise!
    Joe

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  Год назад +2

      Hey Joe, glad the videos are helping! The 20" to 19" swap in the winter is a great recommendation from your mechanic - depending on the rest of the build you may be able to drop your winters down to 18". I'd 100% recommend getting a set of steelies and winter tires then just store them during the warmer months. Constantly swapping out the rubber on the same set of wheels eventually leads to breakdown of the tire wall and when you factor in the added cost of having to get them mounted/balanced it works out to be a better deal just to get a separate set.
      The all seasons are ok in the winter if there's no snow on the ground but with RWD it's worth it to get snow rated tires for improved traction. I'd say keep the factory 20" for the warm months, get a set of 18" or 19" steelies with snow rated tires for the winter!

      Steve, thank you for replying, it really means a lot, but I have a conundrum here.
      I picked up my 2023 Atlas blue convertible today (Eco boost base convertible)
      I don't know what the part is called, but when the roof is down, there are 2 slots that came in the trunk, And you would put them in so none of the gear mechanisms were showing.
      The salesperson I spoke with, who I know personally checked with parts, they no longer make that, and no longer comes with the car.
      I don't understand why, it leaves the gear mechanisms open on both sides, and anything can get in there when the roof is down.
      Do you happen to know if there are any aftermarket market companies that sell Ford exclusive parts?
      I need to check as it's just not good that's it's left open when the roof is down.
      Again. Thank you
      Joe

    Hi Steve, Enjoyed the video!
    I am someone who always love Mustangs and would like to get one as a casual driver, (convertible) no tracking.
    Two questions:
    1) I wanted the regular Eco boost, but my mechanic suggested to go for the Eco boost Premium if the extra cost isn't an issue.
    He says once you hit 60 MPH in the Eco boost, there's no upside like with the premium.
    2) Do the Premiums ride more "stiff" is the term my mechanic used and it wouldn't be as enjoyable if just looking for a daily driver.
    Looking for your thoughts please!
    Thanks

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  2 года назад +4

      Thanks Joey, you'll love being a Mustang owner! In terms of performance there's no difference from the standard EcoBoost and EcoBoost Premium.. unless you look at the base 100a EcoBoost.
      When you get into the 101a it gives you toggle switches that let you change the drive and steering dynamics that aren't available on the base 100a.
      The big difference between the 101a EcoBoost and EcoBoost Premium is that you get leather seats in the Premium with the standard factory navigation and a digital cluster if you go for the 201a. If you're a fan of leather the Premium will have heated/ventilated 1st row seats whereas the 100a/101a will be a cloth seat. The only way to get a stiffer suspension from the factory in the EcoBoost is to look at the EcoBoost high performance package with the dynamic handling pack that has MagneRide
      Hope this helps!

    Why don't they put the v6/turbo from the truck in the mustang... doesn't it make more hp...torque...

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  2 года назад

      They're pretty close in power because of the way the 2.3L is tuned - even in the base EcoBoost. Just looking at the numbers:
      2.3L EcoBoost - 310 hp / 350 torque
      2.3L EcoBoost HPP - 330 hp / 350 torque
      2.7L EcoBoost - 350 hp / 400 torque
      My guess as to why they went with the 2.3L.. differentiate the GT and EcoBoost a bit more

    I heard this ecoboost actually outperforms V8 Dodge Challenger/Charger R/T.

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  2 года назад +1

      On paper it would beat the SXT and GT with the base 3.6L engine. The hemi in the R/T has about 8% more horsepower and 10% more torque. Gear ratios aren't far off so it would come down to skill of the driver on the track

      Only time I'd look at Recaro seats is if the car was only going on the track. If I was in the premium HPP I wouldn't want to give up heated/ventilated seats haha

    Have a 2020 HPP....it died on me as I was entering the FWAY in L.A. Bad Piston is all I was told after 22,500 miles. Unreal!!! The Service Manager said I was the sixth victim so far, and one of them was a Mustang, not sure which Model....nor the 5 others who were also a victims of bad motors from Ford.....any one else hear about this trend? It will take a month to get a new motor replacement from Ford. At least they are paying for my Rental Car....

      Oy, always not good hearing when a piston goes on any car. Only thing I've seen on forums about blown engines in the EcoBoost usually come after there's some kind of aftermarket work done.
      There have been a few videos and posts about occasional misfires but nothing related to recalls about bad pistons as far as I know

      @@alanfine9825 Interesting.. knowing that, I just looked at some forums and it's happened to a few other EcoBoost owners too. Some people have used aftermarket Manley steel rods or a 2.0 closed block but still.. that issue shouldn't be happening
