After beating Messmer a few times and one run where I didn't take any damage I legit think he might be my new favorite boss in any fromsoft game even when compared to Gael. That snake phase is one of the craziest phases I've seen in a boss fight and learning all his moves was absolutely satisfying. Also great video!

Funny thing is that Bayle didn't tehnically beat Placi. From what thw priestess told us,placi was caught off guard and lost two heads while Bayle got his leg torn off and his wings ripped to shreds along with his back being pierced by the heads of placidusqx. He has to channel some dragon incantation just to fly around bc of how badly he got crippled. Also, you guys were right about Nanaya being the wife of Midra and she might actually have been the catalyst to his infection,as in every depiction of Nanaya, her eyes are hidden just like how Shabriri hides his.Maybe it is to mask the fact she was influenced by the frenzied flame. There are a bunch of other neat lore stuff I would love to talk about but I am too lazy right now
The fight ended in "mutual grievous injury", hence a stalemate. Bayle looks more beat up than placci, but one has to wonder how much of that is due to millennia of dragon communion seekers and placci's minions going after him.
@@playmsbk idk man,the last dragon hunter we see(Igon) got his shit rocked in.Bayfle crippled the guy.I highly doubt any of them were that strong to wound bayle like that, taking into consideration the extent of bayle's wounds. Also, most drake warriors turned into fat lizzards
I personally would have included Jori in the list since he's required in order to reach Midra but either way great video guys and I'm happy to see some Scadutree avatar love.
In fairness if your gonna summon for ANY fight in the series it's got to be Bayle, Igon is just such a fucking meme of a summon it's almost mandatory to summon him, the fight is just missing something without a mad screaming cripple bellowing at the top of his lungs "CURSE YOU BAAAAYLE!"
Great video, I think I agree with a lot of things said in the video though in my opinion Putrescent Knight and Rellana is a better boss than how the video made him out to be. I do really appreciate the love that the Scadutree Avatar is getting, such an underrated boss. And I think it's safe to say that Messmer is almost universally agreed upon as one of Fromsoft's best bosses ever. He's landing in my top 5 spot which is no joke because the top 15 Soulsborne bosses is already super good and very hard to rank. On Radahn, I think there's one major problem holding him back. I do agree with how it is satisfying to learn his moveset and punish accordingly and defeating him. However that cross slash combo he does is absolutely terrible and it brings him down a lot especially in the second phase since that can stunlock you into his light beams. Undogeable attacks do exist like Metyr's quasar and Mohg's nihil but like you said it's more of a estus tax than anything as it only happens once and only the first rotation of Metyr's quasar is undodgeable without a specific ash of war. Radahn's cross slash combo is not like those moves because he can choose to use it or spam it anytime he wishes. I only realised this on my third playthrough of the DLC, my opinion of Radahn was actually improving after my 2nd playthrough but my 3rd playthrough really brought it down. Also, the start of his second phase is wildly inconsistent (again, during my third playthrough). In my first 2 times beating him, he'd use his nuke 99.9% of the time and I know that I need to run away from that. But for some reason on my third playthrough that duo just decide to do some random bs before using the nuke (the nuke is always guaranteed at the start but he can choose to do some stupid things before). So what ends up happening is that I need to dodge his attacks while at the same time worrying about him using his nuke which will 100% hit you if you're not moving the milisecond he casts it. His phase 1 and Messmer's phase 1 & 2 start are always consistent with the gravity slam or Messmer's orb. Promised Consort's phase 2 on the other hand isn't
Judging by all the videos I saw and people's comments as well it seems like Messmer, Bayle and Midra are the unchallenged top 3 bosses of the DLC. I also think many people would put Rellana up there as well in the top.
fun fact about Romina, she's a victim of Mesmer. She is the lady in the story trailer who is clutching that spear in the burning church, which became her boss weapon.
Vaati is a hack, I gotchu fam. With the release of this DLC my working theory is that the curses of Marika's children are physical manifestations of her original sins. For example, Marika genocided the Fire Giants so they cursed her firstborn children with flame curses (Melina and Messmer). She exterminated the hornsent and as such received the curse of the omen (a crucible blessing) on her next born in Morgott and Mohg. Finally, in the extermination of the Church of the Bud (which we see in the trailer) she discovers the scarlet rot which is bereft of guidance upon the Rotted Outer God's imprisonment. It is my theory here that she curses the womb of Marika and the rot took hold in Melania as its new goddess of rot. How this relates to Miquella's nascentcy i'm not yet sure
The thing with Rellana is her fight is really fun and satisfying, but her design must be the most generic one in the game. Even her name is just "Let's switch letters in Rennala, 200IQ". When fighting her, I shared my gameplay to one of my close friends who played DS3 like 2 years ago once, and his first reaction to Rellana honestly hit the nail in the head: "Isn't this the Pontiff guy from DS3? Looks cool but like... just give her a different sword man, fire&magic is overdone"
I still think she is awesome and stands out from Pontiff in a few ways, she is more of a mix of Pontiff, Maria and the fire sword is kinda needed to show her close allegiance with Messmer, her armour looks great, her moves are fluid and wonderful and that twin mooon special put a big ol smile on my face, she i’m also okay with her lack of character because it shows just how much she threw away just to be the sword of messmer that she so wanted to be to the point where her existence is basically completely unknown due to her practically removing herself from Carian History. That being said, i wish the base game pulled a Nameless king thing and made some nods to her absence, something like having a painting of Renalla next to covered up painting or even have it be empty, showing that someone should have been there, it’d kinda be like how Nameless king had his statues removed or destroyed, leaving an empty space for people to scratch their heads at. The mystery of Rellana in the base game would have made her appearance in the DLC a lot more fulfilling and would tie up that loose end very nicely. Then theres her lack of cutscene and presence in the DLC as a whole which also dampens her as a character. Overall, i think she is wonderful as she is but she could have used some base game mystery.
Interesting list, I love seeing the love for the dancing lion and scadutree avatar since they are underrated imo, but I would put rellana significantly higher, and putrescent a good bit higher. I would put metyr a lot lower though. Regardless I loved hearing the two different perspectives, made the video really interesting.
I respect the love for radahn,I feel the same way and tbh it was one of the few fights where I almost never got mad cuz I knew it was all on me,I agree with pretty much all of your points on him. Only times I got mad is when I choked it all away cuz yk nerves 😂 but I absolutely adored his fight and many others in this dlc
I think my only problem with Radahn is his double swing followed by the shockwave because it's just nearly impossible to dodge all of the hits, otherwise he's easily one of my favorite bosses from the DLC, up there with Messmer and Midra
I took the blackout before Midra pulling out the sword to be that our Tarnished literally covered their eyes because it was so brutal. Dunno if that's actually why FromSoft did it that way but fuck if it didn't do wonders for my imagination (and nightmares)!
Im glad the scadutree avatar is getting the love it deserves. The fight was easy for a 3 phase fight but it wasn’t boring. It was even better once I was able to dodge the thorns. The ost for this boss is highly underrated and if you check out the ost the fight feels like the poor flower refused to just die with a sad undertone. At the end it managed to make me feel bad for killing it 😢
Golden Hippo is not mandatory... In fact, no boss is required for another outside of the final boss. You can actually have a grace active for every boss except the final one at the same time. So I wen't around and unlocked all these graces at Scadutree level 0 and backed up my save to the cloud.
Worst thing I hate about golden hippo: I am stupid and didn't realise that the way to get into the keep's main entrance is a lift. I took out 2 different bosses (including Bayle, fighting him with only dragon communion and Igon was satisfying) and found some hidden areas before I even realised I could get in that way.
Elden Ring 1.5 is a true statement ‘cause it genuinely feels like it’s very own game. Though I gotta be real, I think Gaius is worse than the golden hippo. He’s just so aggressive, has a shit ton of health, his hit boxes are absolutely crazy and He’s just not fun to fight in my opinion. Like Jack said, he’s so aggressive and you get little to no windows to attack or heal with him which just makes it frustrating rather than fun. Great vid guys.
looking back i also think golden hippo is a little more fun (+ a lot more interesting/unique) than gaius. blame alex for that ranking. thanks for watching! - jack
Learning to dodge Gaius’ charge is not fun to do, especially if you don’t want to fight him on Torrent. I’m sure he’s fine with optimal play but I didn’t have fun fighting him and won by stun locking him with jumping dual wield heavies, cool armor set though
My Ranking: 1. Messmer The Impaler 2. Rellana, Twin Moon Knight 3. Bayle The Dread 4. Midra, Lord Of Frendzied Flame 5. Divine Beast Dancing Lion 6. Putrescent Knight 7. Scadutree Avatar 8. Romina, Saint Of The Bud 9. Metyr, Mother Of Fingers 10. Radahn, Consert Of Miquella 11. Golden Hippopotamus 12. Commander Gaius 13. Needle Knight Leda
@@__Man_ he's probably one of my least favorite bosses in the series. It's hard to see, and hard to find openings, between miquella's hair, and the lasers, the latter causes some pretty heavy performance issues for my PC.
I don’t think Hippo is mandatory. You can reach Mesmer from behind the Shadow Keep (riding from Bunny Village all the way to the church behind the Shadow Keep)
Not finished with the vid but Rellana so low feels crazy, like under Metyr?? I know a common complaint is that it feels like you never get a turn, which frankly is kinda true, but some of the combos you can actually attack during (if you have a quick enough weapon, I used a light greatsword two handed). It made the fight feel like a quick dance where one mistake could get me killed. Cause of that it's honestly probably my favorite fight in the DLC (maybe midra above her).
I actually really likes Putrescent Knight, I used the Dragon Hunter's Great Katana, and the Ash of War is really good at catching him when he tries to run away, especially after using his spinning horse combo move, but maybe that's just me? 🤔
Puting Metyr with her ridiculous hitboxes, plethora of shitty attacks, her ad spawning, and the rotating blackhole nonsense above Rellana, who has one of the most engaging and flexible movesets of any FromSoft boss is criminal.
I will say Rellana attacks are telegraphed and not hard to read once you get used to the fight. I didn’t like her at first but after the second time rellana isn’t that bad. Metyr I personally found annoying and punishing windows do get more annoying to find phase 2.
I KNEW THE PRUTESCENT KNIGHT HITBOX WAS BULLSHIT. Like I fougth him with dual katanas and I has not reaching him even when rolling into his attacks. It felt like fighting an Erdtree a Avatar with daggers (if you know, you know). His attacks seem fair and fun to dodge with decent punish windows, but for god's shake, make his hit detection bigger, it is infuriating to not land your punish just cause the game doesn't want you to
Putrescent Knight is pretty good if you have a decent ranged weapon like the Milady but I can't imagine the people that fight him with daggers or punching would not have any fun here. I enjoy him for his weirdness but he's one of the weaker Rememberance bosses. As for Radahn if you have a shield you can very much counter the death star laser and meteor attack. You'll take a bit of damage but have a wide opening.
im doing putrescent knight at rl1 fist only and im not having any trouble hitting him at all. nearly every single one of his attacks are punishable with nearly any weapon
Ranged holy attacks will destroy him too. The incantation that you get for killing the leonine shaded enemy will lock him in for a couple of extra hits.
Putting Consort Radahn so high is actually blasphemous. I’ve beaten him 5 times, 4 of which on NG+7 and solo but not once was I having fun besides the first time I beat him cause of the extreme sense of relief knowing I was done with the pain, tedium and annoyance. Phase one is alright, a bit boring but it’s a first phase so I didn’t really care, phase two however was designed by a psychopathic alzheimer’s patient. All the light clones force me to study for hours to find out how to consistently dodge them, the endless light beams and aggression makes the fight miserable. Phase 2 just feels like i’m waiting to get lucky enough for him to do a punishable attack, like the grab, gravity rush, and that one combo he does the most where he pulls his sword from the ground covering the arena in light. Also Miquella’s hair is genuinely too long for me to see some of Radahn’s attacks especially when the fight is designed for me to roll into him. Also I don’t really like the idea of fighting Radahn again as the final boss of the expansion I waited 2 years for. Overall though I despise this boss and anyone involved with him needs to be locked up for the rest of their life. I’m getting more and more used to fighting him to the point I feel like I can do it hitless but just looking at this boss makes me want to leap off the nearest ledge Still really good video tho
I tend to use colossal weapons in these games so Putrescent Knight wasn't as much of an issue for me, and I thought the Orphan of Kos-adjacent weapon was super cool, but there were still times when my weapon appeared to just phase through him without doing any damage. Pretty frustrating. As for Rellana and Radahn, I personally felt like Rellana largely had the same amount of aggression and tenacity as Radahn, but without the blinding pillars of light in a second phase. With Radahn, yeah anyone can do it, but it still feels like a bullshit fight. The light pillars completely obscure some of his follow up attacks in phase 2, which made me die more than a handful of times. Yeah I felt great when I beat him, but mostly just relieved it was over. I didn't have fun with the fight while it was happening. I think I felt the same way about Radahn that Jack did about Rellana. Also, seeing him show up as the final boss was just kinda lame. I get it from a lore perspective, but I would've loved to have seen a reanimated corpse of Godwyn or some other creature rather than re-fighting a base game boss that I had fully accepted as dead.
This ranking, to me, is mostly awful, but I guess I can’t say it’s objectively wrong or bad. I’ll just put my ranking here, without Leda & co. cus it’s not a boss, and if you have questions you can ask if you want. 12-Metyr, Mother of Fingers 11-Putrescent Knight 10-Scadutree Avatar 9-Golden Hippopotamus 8-Divine Beast Dancing Lion 7-Bayle the Dread 6-Rellana, Twin Moon Knight 5-Commander Gaius 4-Radahn, Consort of Miquella 3-Romina, Saint of the Bud 2-Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame 1-Messmer the Impaler
My Amigo’s @BRAINALERT already made what is pretty much a definitive series of videos on those games, idk if we’ll ever cover em’ but I endorse those in our stead
Great video, Guys! Happy to see a new upload from you! I hadn't played Elden Ring (or any of FromSoft's games) since 2022, so I just picked up with my original save-file to play the DLC. As a consequence, I was level 190-something starting the DLC, which probably made some things easier. Lol. My personal ranking of those 13 bosses is: 1. Messmer, the Impaler (top 5 FromSoft bosses for me) 2. Bayle, the Dread (top 10 for me) 3. Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame (probably, top 20) 4. Putrescent Knight (for some reason, I actually enjoyed this fight) 5. Divine Beast Dancing Lion (Managed to beat this one on my first attempt since I was overleveled so that probably skewed my perspective) 6. Scadutree Avatar (Fun boss with a cool gimmick) 7. Romina, Saint of the Bud (Enjoyable boss if surprisingly easy) 8. Rellana, Twin Moon Knight (Kicked my ass, taking me three hours to solo; respected the boss but didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to) 9. Radahn, Consort of Miquella (Took me over 5 hours to solo and ended up using the Bloodfiend's Arm to make the fight easier; I liked phase 1 but was thrown off by phase 2 and the light beam attacks) 10. Metyr, Mother of Fingers (I love the design of the boss, but I found it awkward to fight, reminding me a bit of Astel) 11. Gank Fight (I only fought three of them in my playthrough and had most of the fragments, so it was the easiest fight for me) 12. Golden Hippopotamus (Fought at a higher Scadutree level, which made it less frustrating, but I still didn't like the fight) 13. Commander Gaius (Just found this boss annoying to fight and was relieved when it was done) Radahn was the hardest boss I've beaten since Sisyphus Prime from Ultrakill, and I can't imagine how much harder FromSoft will make the bosses in future games. To be perfectly honest, I found the bosses from Bloodborne, DS3, and Sekiro the most enjoyable overall (well, maybe just the best bosses from Bloodborne) because they were more my speed, and a lot of Elden Ring's bosses tended to frustrate me more with their endless combos. That's one of the reasons why I liked Messmer, Bayle, and Midra more because they felt more like bosses you'd have faced in those games in terms of their openings and speed. Anyway, I'm enjoying your content as always and look forward to your future uploads!
Messmer cracked my top 3. It's now: 1) Slave Knight Gael 2) Sister Friede 3) Messmer the Impaler 4) Owl Father (especially Inner Father if we're counting him) 5) Demon Princes I need to give the DLC another run but I think Messmer could potentially jump even higher on subsequent playthroughs, as I mess around with different builds. I just recently beat DS3 with fists only and only reinforced my love of Gael, Friede and the Demon Princes for me, and I'm kinda expecting the same of Messmer. I've heard people complain about the snake hitboxes being wonky, but that wasn't my experience weirdly enough. I think it's pretty much a mechanical masterpiece
@@aarontruong354 Solid choices all around! Four of those are in my top 10, and Friede is in my top 20. I think my top 5 would probably be: 1. Ludwig, the Accursed / the Holy Blade 2. Slave Knight Gael 3. Genichiro Ashina (weird choice, I know, but I really enjoy this fight) 4. Isshin, the Sword Saint 5. Messmer, the Impaler
Honestly shadow of the Erdtree was definitely worth the 40 pounds it was enjoyable, creative, the bosses were tough some even taking me hours to beat. Literally Rhadan took me 8 hours, after 30 hours of playing that DLC my love for souls games has risen again. It’s honestly much better to spend hard earned money on soul games as they don’t have micro transactions and don’t want more money for every part of the game just pay 50/40 pounds and you get everything. I honestly can’t believe that yesterday I’m actually playing that Suicide Squad kill the justice league game, I’m definitely not buying anything from it I’m just playing the game because it’s time for me to stop the criticism and just play it then critique it based off of what I experienced.
Radahn screams laziness second phase. He has like three new attacks and they just add holy lasers All of his combos Looks reminds me of a fan-made boss
Radahn was an awful boss, the fps drops in phase 2, you can't see what he's doing and he does the same moves in phase 1 but this time in phase 2 you have to alter your muscle memory to avoid those same attacks cuz they have extra lights coming out, so stupid.
Scadutree is the WORST. They recently enable torrent ride on Elden beast, why not this one too?? It just so boring slowly try to catch em. 3 phase but they look EXACTLY the same? Might as well make 1 phase but insane amount HP.
BOOO-RING! you should rank top 10 Elden ring bosses who you’d like to suffocate you with their farts please ❤ My num 1 is the brick troll from bloodborne 😍😍😍
When I was playing it all my friends who were also playing it were telling me Gaius was the worst if not one of the worst; I just switched to light rolling and hit him with my weapon art after baiting his charge attacks and rolling out of the way and it wasn't so bad. It's definitely not a good fight but I find he at least has a tangible, identifiable flow unlike a lot of this DLC's bosses
@@Cytonox I think the worst example of lack of tangible flow I'd point to is the black hole laser AoE attack that Metyr does, I had no clue what to do to avoid it so I just tanked it and healed the damage, I watched 4 or 5 videos of other people fighting it after beating it and they all did the same, then Ongbal who is a god at video games uploaded a no-damage fight and though he figured out that you have to get close to the AoE but not too close, even he seemed confused by that attack based on the video description
Glad you guys are back! The DLC is really polarizing from what I can tell, and while I personally really enjoyed it, I still think Old Hunters and Ringed City clap SOTE. It is a firmly third place Souls DLC that seriously has some of the very best work produced by this company thus far, but in other ways (particularly some parts of the story) bothered me way too much. But for the rankings, mine isn't too far off from yours 13) Golden Hippo (pre patch this was a nightmare, although the fight isn't actually mandatory if you enter through Shadow Keep from the Church District in the back, which is how I entered the dungeon the first time. Still, it doesn't excuse how unfun this fight is 12) Miquella's meat munchers (I think this was a really neat idea that was bogged down by From Soft conventions. The idea of rewarding the player's questline progression was implemented well, except it's a From Soft game where the quests aren't exactly obvious to follow (although it is MUCH better handled in SOTE than in the base game). My problem is the fight shouldn't even be allowed to be done solo, it is nothing short of actual CBT if you do it yourself, and if the point was for you to summon, I don't think you should have been given that option. If you do summon though, it is actually pretty fun. It is one of the only times in the series where the NPCs interact with each other) 11) Commander Gaius (I really only hate the charge attack. Everything else about the fight is fine) 10) Metyr, Mother of Fingers (I really only hate the nigh undodgeable laser attack, but everything else is fine. The only reliable way I've seen to avoid it is with thr Raptor of the Mists AOW, which not everyone will find and I think that's kinda ridiculous for them to give you an undodgeable attack that can only be avoided by a missable item) 9) Putrescent Knight (a little easy but I hate how much he runs away from you. I had the same issue where I just couldn't reliably hit him often and it just dragged the fight out. I do think some potential was missed for him to have a more grounded moveset, the horse combo is awesome and I wish he had more moves like that) 8) Scadutree Avatar (nothing really wrong with this fight other than the fact that at certain elevations you literally cannot riposte him sometimes. Still, the delayed thorn attacks were hard for me to deal with and caused some frustration, since I really thought you could dodge through them and while I'm sure you can, I never figured it out and I hated it. Cool boss though) 7) Romina, Saint of the Bud (a little easy, but is carried hard by the presentation. Fantastic visuals and fantastic music really do a lot of heavy lifting here, although the fight is still very well designed don't get me wrong. This is definitely the best Quelaag esque fight they've done, I just think it's a little forgettable gameplay wise) 6) Promised Consort Radahn (definitely the hardest fight they've ever made, but extremely rewarding to figure out. I love phase 1, but phase 2 feels like the screen is getting cluttered constantly and makes it hard to see sometimes. The right left cross slash combo is near impossible to dodge on medium roll, and the lore was extremely disappointing in this fight imo. Otherwise, this is the reason we play these games is to overcome that insurmountable challenge, and this boss felt like the first time playing a Souls game again, and it deserves props for that) 5) Rellana, Twin Moon Knight (also was disappointed with this one lore wise, but that aside, I thought the fight was a really fun duel. It was definitely challenging, and I can see people saying that it's a bit overtuned, but I had a lot more fun fighting this boss than some of the ones below. It is balanced between a great spectacle and a great dance) 4) Divine Beast Dancing Lion (great first impression to the DLC. The only negative I have is the lightning sometimes hitting you from off screen but that's negated with better position and I'll admit it's a skill issue. I thought it was a lot of fun and the changing of elements was super cool, fuck the one in Rauh though) 3) Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame (this feels like it would fit really well in DS3. I love the flow of the fight, yeah it might be a bit easy but it was hella fun at the end of the day. Great story, music, arena, everything. The first "phase" is a bit annoying to do every time especially if you take damage to it but otherwise it's a near perfect fight 2) Bayle the Dread (one of the coolest fights they've ever done, the spectacle is seriously jaw dropping. I'll even say that this dethroned Midir as the best dragon fight they made. It's consistently engaging, super awesome visually, and has the best theme in the DLC imo. While Igon doesn't really factor in for me his VA did not get paid enough for his performance here it was truly something magical) 1) Messmer the Impaler (this fight crept up into my top 3 in all of Souls. Some of the most fun I've had learning a fight and actually playing the fight I've ever had. Some people have said the snake hitboxes are wonky but that wasn't my experience. It's an even better mix of mechanics and spectacle than Bayle and Rellana are, I really wish the remembrance system let you fight bosses at any time because it's gonna be grueling trudging through the base game and the DLC just to get to this fight)
I personally think that ringed city is overrated. It's still good, but I dislike the dreg heap. You got a poison swamp with annoying angel enemies that you have to go way out of your way to kill. The rest of the enemies are also not very fun. The ringed city is cool, but it's basically another swamp and a bland catacombs. The city section is fun tho. It does have some good bosses, but nowhere near the quantity and quality of Sote.
I couldn’t finish the video after seeing Rellana at 8. Her and Bayle are easily the best, most consistent fights in the DLC, and having bosses like Metyr, Radahn, Divine Beast, and Scadutree Avatar above her is absolutely braindead.
Bruh if you’re going to freak out this much over an opinionated tier list, then I dread how you will react if someone said your favorite boss was bad in their opinion.

There are a bunch of other neat lore stuff I would love to talk about but I am too lazy right now
golden hippo can beat both
real
Yup that was my only summon, Igon is just too cool. Didn't even summon for the NPCs
Great video, always look forward to your thoughts
Genuinely think that they deserve more views/recognition cause they’re video quality is way better than some other rankings on YT
About time my ears could be blessed by these guys about the elden ring dlc
Judging by all the videos I saw and people's comments as well it seems like Messmer, Bayle and Midra are the unchallenged top 3 bosses of the DLC. I also think many people would put Rellana up there as well in the top.
fun fact about Romina, she's a victim of Mesmer. She is the lady in the story trailer who is clutching that spear in the burning church, which became her boss weapon.
What happened to her?
@@thisstatementisfalsenothin5312 Messmer burned Romina’s church and she prayed to the Goddess of Rot and that’s what she became
elden ring 1.5 is an understatement honestly. great to see videos from you guys
When fighting her, I shared my gameplay to one of my close friends who played DS3 like 2 years ago once, and his first reaction to Rellana honestly hit the nail in the head:
"Isn't this the Pontiff guy from DS3?
Finally someone who appreciates radahn as much as i do, the fight is peak
Interesting list, I love seeing the love for the dancing lion and scadutree avatar since they are underrated imo, but I would put rellana significantly higher, and putrescent a good bit higher. I would put metyr a lot lower though. Regardless I loved hearing the two different perspectives, made the video really interesting.
The cyto will nox this night....
Midra is probably my favorite SotE boss
I respect the love for radahn,I feel the same way and tbh it was one of the few fights where I almost never got mad cuz I knew it was all on me,I agree with pretty much all of your points on him. Only times I got mad is when I choked it all away cuz yk nerves 😂 but I absolutely adored his fight and many others in this dlc
I think my only problem with Radahn is his double swing followed by the shockwave because it's just nearly impossible to dodge all of the hits, otherwise he's easily one of my favorite bosses from the DLC, up there with Messmer and Midra
I agree
Gael, isshin and Messmer are my new top 3 bosses in the series
Messmer Midra and Bayle is like the canon top 3 at this point, and I love it. Surprised to see Rellana so low though, that fight is a blast
Advice for the sigma horses, run forward and to there side to get a combo, tedious yes and boring, but not awful
17:29 Alex: She wants to marry her nephew.
Me: :/ Wait what ?
Technically...yes completely.
But in her defense (I guess?), Messmer wasn't her nephew at that time since Radagon wasn't in Liurnia at this period

Bro is NOT cookin
@@idontcare9661 bro is probably baking.
Radahn at 13 is wild imo
@@__Man_ he's probably one of my least favorite bosses in the series.
It's hard to see, and hard to find openings, between miquella's hair, and the lasers, the latter causes some pretty heavy performance issues for my PC.
Okay is dancing lion is the camera
How is Bayle there on 3rd place
Radahn fight is perfect except for that one move you can’t dodge if you’re not on his side.
I’ve beaten Bayle without summons once, every other time I gotta let my boy Igon get his getback
And rellana is perfection
I don’t think Hippo is mandatory. You can reach Mesmer from behind the Shadow Keep (riding from Bunny Village all the way to the church behind the Shadow Keep)
If you watch a video of Gaius with visible hitboxes, the hitboxes are fine. Just roll to the side at the last second. Fun boss
Cause of that it's honestly probably my favorite fight in the DLC (maybe midra above her).
or if you go STR she gets easily staggerd and can basically skip phase 2
It's not true at all she's extremely punishable...
I actually really likes Putrescent Knight, I used the Dragon Hunter's Great Katana, and the Ash of War is really good at catching him when he tries to run away, especially after using his spinning horse combo move, but maybe that's just me? 🤔
I'm a 21 year old who gets mistaken for a 15 year old so I feel you Alex. W opinion on Radahn btw both of you.
I like Metyr more then Rellana so what?
Probably the first time i click a video so fast
Same here
Though you can skip the hippo if you use the side entrance to the castle. Sad excuse for a guard dog
Consort Radahn is by far the best boss in elden ring
Your the only person I’ve found that doesn’t just praise rellana and I totally agree with everything you said about her
Who else up cytoing they nox
I KNEW THE PRUTESCENT KNIGHT HITBOX WAS BULLSHIT. Like I fougth him with dual katanas and I has not reaching him even when rolling into his attacks. It felt like fighting an Erdtree a Avatar with daggers (if you know, you know).
His attacks seem fair and fun to dodge with decent punish windows, but for god's shake, make his hit detection bigger, it is infuriating to not land your punish just cause the game doesn't want you to
Weird how you included an optional non-remembrance boss like Golden Hippo but not others like the Death Knights or Demihuman Swordmaster Onze.
Golden Hippo isn’t mandatory. you can skip with side entrance. Only mandatory bosses are Messmer, Romina, Leda and Radahn
I killed him with dryleaf arts and loved the fight tbh
7:53 use jump attacks to both dodge and land hits
I’m getting more and more used to fighting him to the point I feel like I can do it hitless but just looking at this boss makes me want to leap off the nearest ledge
Still really good video tho
12-Metyr, Mother of Fingers
11-Putrescent Knight
10-Scadutree Avatar
9-Golden Hippopotamus
8-Divine Beast Dancing Lion
7-Bayle the Dread
6-Rellana, Twin Moon Knight
5-Commander Gaius
4-Radahn, Consort of Miquella
3-Romina, Saint of the Bud
2-Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame
1-Messmer the Impaler
And we need a ninja gaiden sigma video
My Amigo’s @BRAINALERT already made what is pretty much a definitive series of videos on those games, idk if we’ll ever cover em’ but I endorse those in our stead
Great video, Guys! Happy to see a new upload from you! I hadn't played Elden Ring (or any of FromSoft's games) since 2022, so I just picked up with my original save-file to play the DLC. As a consequence, I was level 190-something starting the DLC, which probably made some things easier. Lol.
My personal ranking of those 13 bosses is:
1. Messmer, the Impaler (top 5 FromSoft bosses for me)
2. Bayle, the Dread (top 10 for me)
3. Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame (probably, top 20)
4. Putrescent Knight (for some reason, I actually enjoyed this fight)
5. Divine Beast Dancing Lion (Managed to beat this one on my first attempt since I was overleveled so that probably skewed my perspective)
6. Scadutree Avatar (Fun boss with a cool gimmick)
7. Romina, Saint of the Bud (Enjoyable boss if surprisingly easy)
8. Rellana, Twin Moon Knight (Kicked my ass, taking me three hours to solo; respected the boss but didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to)
9. Radahn, Consort of Miquella (Took me over 5 hours to solo and ended up using the Bloodfiend's Arm to make the fight easier; I liked phase 1 but was thrown off by phase 2 and the light beam attacks)
10. Metyr, Mother of Fingers (I love the design of the boss, but I found it awkward to fight, reminding me a bit of Astel)
11. Gank Fight (I only fought three of them in my playthrough and had most of the fragments, so it was the easiest fight for me)
12. Golden Hippopotamus (Fought at a higher Scadutree level, which made it less frustrating, but I still didn't like the fight)
13. Commander Gaius (Just found this boss annoying to fight and was relieved when it was done)
Radahn was the hardest boss I've beaten since Sisyphus Prime from Ultrakill, and I can't imagine how much harder FromSoft will make the bosses in future games.
It's now:
1) Slave Knight Gael
2) Sister Friede
3) Messmer the Impaler
4) Owl Father (especially Inner Father if we're counting him)
5) Demon Princes
I need to give the DLC another run but I think Messmer could potentially jump even higher on subsequent playthroughs, as I mess around with different builds.
I think my top 5 would probably be:
1. Ludwig, the Accursed / the Holy Blade
2. Slave Knight Gael
3. Genichiro Ashina (weird choice, I know, but I really enjoy this fight)
4. Isshin, the Sword Saint
5. Messmer, the Impaler
Well that was a Surprise
The world isnt ready to accept that Gaius is a goat
I love watching other men play Elden Ring!
It's so funny to me how the black keep has 3 bosses, 2 being the worst in the DLC and 1 being the best DLC boss
Radahn being that high is too generous
Nah he's a really good boss
Nope
Radahn screams laziness second phase. He has like three new attacks and they just add holy lasers All of his combos Looks reminds me of a fan-made boss
Radahn was an awful boss, the fps drops in phase 2, you can't see what he's doing and he does the same moves in phase 1 but this time in phase 2 you have to alter your muscle memory to avoid those same attacks cuz they have extra lights coming out, so stupid.
Judgement day has arrived
Scadutree is the WORST. They recently enable torrent ride on Elden beast, why not this one too?? It just so boring slowly try to catch em.
3 phase but they look EXACTLY the same? Might as well make 1 phase but insane amount HP.
Scadu Avatar doesn't move nearly as much as Elden Beast and any form of fire melts him, his HP is also quite low so killing him is pretty easy
Golden hippo isn't mandatory
Golden hippo isn't mandatory though

you should rank top 10 Elden ring bosses who you’d like to suffocate you with their farts please ❤
My num 1 is the brick troll from bloodborne 😍😍😍
When I was playing it all my friends who were also playing it were telling me Gaius was the worst if not one of the worst; I just switched to light rolling and hit him with my weapon art after baiting his charge attacks and rolling out of the way and it wasn't so bad. It's definitely not a good fight but I find he at least has a tangible, identifiable flow unlike a lot of this DLC's bosses
last point is a good one. that’s actually why i liked radahn so much compared to, like, rellana - jack
@@youngkappakhan I just tanked that move also lmao

Glad you guys are back! The DLC is really polarizing from what I can tell, and while I personally really enjoyed it, I still think Old Hunters and Ringed City clap SOTE. It is a firmly third place Souls DLC that seriously has some of the very best work produced by this company thus far, but in other ways (particularly some parts of the story) bothered me way too much. But for the rankings, mine isn't too far off from yours
13) Golden Hippo (pre patch this was a nightmare, although the fight isn't actually mandatory if you enter through Shadow Keep from the Church District in the back, which is how I entered the dungeon the first time. Still, it doesn't excuse how unfun this fight is
12) Miquella's meat munchers (I think this was a really neat idea that was bogged down by From Soft conventions. It is one of the only times in the series where the NPCs interact with each other)
11) Commander Gaius (I really only hate the charge attack. Everything else about the fight is fine)
10) Metyr, Mother of Fingers (I really only hate the nigh undodgeable laser attack, but everything else is fine. The only reliable way I've seen to avoid it is with thr Raptor of the Mists AOW, which not everyone will find and I think that's kinda ridiculous for them to give you an undodgeable attack that can only be avoided by a missable item)
9) Putrescent Knight (a little easy but I hate how much he runs away from you. I had the same issue where I just couldn't reliably hit him often and it just dragged the fight out. I do think some potential was missed for him to have a more grounded moveset, the horse combo is awesome and I wish he had more moves like that)
8) Scadutree Avatar (nothing really wrong with this fight other than the fact that at certain elevations you literally cannot riposte him sometimes. Still, the delayed thorn attacks were hard for me to deal with and caused some frustration, since I really thought you could dodge through them and while I'm sure you can, I never figured it out and I hated it. Cool boss though)
7) Romina, Saint of the Bud (a little easy, but is carried hard by the presentation. Fantastic visuals and fantastic music really do a lot of heavy lifting here, although the fight is still very well designed don't get me wrong. This is definitely the best Quelaag esque fight they've done, I just think it's a little forgettable gameplay wise)
6) Promised Consort Radahn (definitely the hardest fight they've ever made, but extremely rewarding to figure out. I love phase 1, but phase 2 feels like the screen is getting cluttered constantly and makes it hard to see sometimes. The right left cross slash combo is near impossible to dodge on medium roll, and the lore was extremely disappointing in this fight imo. Otherwise, this is the reason we play these games is to overcome that insurmountable challenge, and this boss felt like the first time playing a Souls game again, and it deserves props for that)
5) Rellana, Twin Moon Knight (also was disappointed with this one lore wise, but that aside, I thought the fight was a really fun duel. It was definitely challenging, and I can see people saying that it's a bit overtuned, but I had a lot more fun fighting this boss than some of the ones below. It is balanced between a great spectacle and a great dance)
4) Divine Beast Dancing Lion (great first impression to the DLC. The only negative I have is the lightning sometimes hitting you from off screen but that's negated with better position and I'll admit it's a skill issue. I thought it was a lot of fun and the changing of elements was super cool, fuck the one in Rauh though)
3) Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame (this feels like it would fit really well in DS3. I love the flow of the fight, yeah it might be a bit easy but it was hella fun at the end of the day. Great story, music, arena, everything. The first "phase" is a bit annoying to do every time especially if you take damage to it but otherwise it's a near perfect fight
2) Bayle the Dread (one of the coolest fights they've ever done, the spectacle is seriously jaw dropping. I'll even say that this dethroned Midir as the best dragon fight they made. It's consistently engaging, super awesome visually, and has the best theme in the DLC imo. While Igon doesn't really factor in for me his VA did not get paid enough for his performance here it was truly something magical)
1) Messmer the Impaler (this fight crept up into my top 3 in all of Souls.
It does have some good bosses, but nowhere near the quantity and quality of Sote.
tip: jump over putrescent knight's sweeps for better punishes. you can attack him after or during nearly every move
Boo. Mortal shell does not suck.
I couldn’t finish the video after seeing Rellana at 8. Her and Bayle are easily the best, most consistent fights in the DLC, and having bosses like Metyr, Radahn, Divine Beast, and Scadutree Avatar above her is absolutely braindead.
No it's called an opinion
Bruh if you’re going to freak out this much over an opinionated tier list, then I dread how you will react if someone said your favorite boss was bad in their opinion.
your the type of person that isn't subjected to have an opinion
top 2 bayle is criminal, now I know not to take you seriously
